Good, I'm not the only one to realise how fething stupid that so called analogy is. People always wave a worst case scenario around like it's the norm...

*Edit*
Oh my!
Why didn't you just ask? I got a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOLE fridge full of sparklin' orangina with your name on it! And it just
dances
Alllllllllllllllllll the way
down.

So I googled 'orangina' and 'furry' to know wtf you were going on about.
I... felt uncomfortable after watching that commercial. |
That is a perfectly normal reaction to that abomination.

Alright, that's enough of that ****. I'm starting to feel sick. |
This is why we can't have nice things T_T

Kindly reread the post you quoted that sentence from.
It's not about whether it's possible or not possible in real life. It's how ludicrous it looks. It's just not something most people would take even remotely seriously.

If this thought returns to your head, reread it again.

Yellow Indisputable Fundamental Fact #1: People have gotten this thread to 10+ pages in like 3 days, so the idea *MUST* be popular.
Fair enough. Still, though; would it be popular enough to warrant all that frame work? Definitely not.

Y.I.F.F #2: AmazingMoo wants it, so of course it's worth it!
Y.I.F.F #3: Bad_Influence and Thirty-Seven don't want it, therefore we must have it!
Leo, that was just baaaad

Nah, Titan Weapons, for all the implausibility, is still able to be taken seriously. Look at FFVII. They had a giant sword using guy. And a wolf-cat-PC-thing. That didn't use a sword. If sword using animals are too crazy for an FF game, they're too crazy.
And, again, Darkstar, it's not about realism. It's that an animal, using a sword, is just downright stupid.
Now, I'm not against players using the animal model. The shapeshifter AT that was leaked shows it's apparently coming, but the animals are gonna be using natural weapons... not a sword.

Y'know, Techbot, unfortunately for you I am not staying awake nights wondering what exact ideas you think are "wrong," or 'stupid." I'll leave it to you to figure out why Im not doing that [hint: its easy to figure out].
Your point is also completely fallacious and pure wrong. For a start, you clearly haven't seen some of the costume abominations we can ALREADY HAVE that pretty closely fit what you just described. I mean, heaven forbid that people want 'normal' anthropomorphic characters who don't act like complete sparkledogs/weabos/whatever.
This is not 'Transformers in Middle Earth', and that is a frankly bloody stupid analogy. 'Anthropomorphic characters in the CoXUniverse, which already has crazy alien things, magic, giant robots and pretty much everything under the sun already anyway' is far more accurate. I really hate it when people use straw men arguments... |
The fact is, again unfortunately for you, that I dislike the idea of people taking this new furry idea and running all the way to Alpha Centauri with it [as we all know will immediately happen.... there are plenty of people who wait up nights on the prayer that they'll be able to grief the game in such a fashion...] and also that despite Leo's desperate attempts to claim otherwise, that the idea of animals fighting with bladed weapons in thier mouths is nothing more or less than slapstick on a level with any episode of The Three Stooges. Fight, ad-hominem, insult, namecall: will change nothing, its a stupid idea and a logical fallacy - and deep down, you are well aware of this.
You just enjoy a fight. Duly noted!
You guys already have the so-called "yiff pack" and you are welcome to it. Be glad you got that much.
Now, I am delighted that you and others have no problem with the idea of, say, a Gone With The Wind trial where your Incarnates fight the Boss version of General Sherman, in a new blighted a-la Boomtown zone called Burnin' Down Georgia. That would make NO SENSE in COX, much like rainbow-colored dog-girls who fight with 9' swords in their mouths [?!!] MAKES NO SENSE EITHER. You can namecall all you want, will not make it less true. 'Ave a nice day, mate.

And what about Okami, pray tell?

I'm also of the opinion that animals with blades-in-mouth would look silly, mostly due to the engine and rig limits, nor do I ever see it happening within CoH, so that's not so much an issue.

That right there is making no sense, no matter how much you try and defend it.

This. 'Yiff pack'? Really? So anyone, absolutely anyone who happens to have an anthropomorphic animal chacter, is instantly labelled in the same way as the worst elements of a rather large and diverse sub-category fandom that covers a lot of different areas, some as mild as, say, the fox version of Robin Hood or other simple stuff. 'Humanoid Animal Characters'.
That right there is making no sense, no matter how much you try and defend it. |

So, sort of picturing Gone with the Wind with Transformers still.

Oh, and that you can do that already.
Also this thread makes Hank McCoy sad.
