Mechs in CoH:F 2012?
Awwww yea!!! Love this game it continues to deliver i'm very excited about this.

I don't think that the game will take the cheesiest route Ive ever seen and give us mechs.
I personally don't want mechs but instead add a new tech to Mind Control and allow for Mind Riding. Now that Sis Psyche is dead (??) maybe her powers went back into the ether and will be distributed across all Mind Control users.

One of the first things I did when we got the improved tailors was make a Huge robotic costume for a tiny Female character. I'm sure I'm not the only one. A more-than-cosmetic option might be interesting.
'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.
We already have enough robot and tech costume sets. Let's try to fill in other niches that actually need filling, like Egyptian, Tribal, Medieval, Pirate, Energy, Elemental, etc.

Then he goes on to mention this tidbit in his interview with Onrpg.com about a costume set that he would like to have, quoted here: "If I were to get any costume set it would be a Japanese anime-style mecha suit, that sort of angled, venty, armor that was big in the 1980s and 90s."

Mechs would rock!
But I want the slow-moving stompy kind... like the hardsuits in Blacklight Retribution.
Would love to see the mech costume pack. LOVE to see it!
I'll take those wicked wings that fold over behind them and whip out with thrusters that go nutts when they start flying.
You guys can keep the rest.

I'll always be a "Champion" at heart. My server away from home.

I personally believe that bots masterminds needed a power called "gestalt"
Your bots combine and turn into a pilotable heavy for two minutes.
Maybe. But then again, Iv'e seen Posi make statements and then for some reason have said things swept under the rug <sg transfers anyone?>
Holding breath: not.
Edit: I don't see anywhere he actually said pilotable mechs.
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

Thus the question mark in the thread title. And stated in the OP as to what are the chances based on the evidence I presented.

I totally support any efforts to include/introduce any version of mechs in this game, mainly because it totally fits into the superhero genre.
But this is Posi we are talking about. He will be able to generate the hype but I'm not so sure his ideas have the support that they need to really get off the ground.
I mean, he's got my support, but then again he will have to have the rest of the dev teams support and marketing and well... Marketing isn't exactly what I'd call supportive.

I see that.

Or he's not allowed to announce it this far in advance. Competition and all.
Who knows.
If it happens, great. I'm excited over the mere possibility. If not, bummer, but I have no one else to blame other than myself for lettin' it get to that level o' excitement for me.

I do the same thing with bases.
Hey Z, I still have that near wall-less base I want to show the devs.

This post by Positron, and specifically the part where he says, "piloting something that you wouldn't have access to your normal powers while controlling it" leads me to believe that we could get Mechs in the near future.

There's already some models in the game with Malta Zeus' and Kronos Titan. Possible? Sure.

So, Champion et al, what do you think our chances are o' gettin' personal Mechs as a powerset in 2012?
