Over/Under on a Patch to get Converters in
Well, unintentional though this bug may have been, it was a great way to sell some super packs, I bet.

I can think of a couple non"SKEEZY" reasons they may have done this, but Additional Human Error is #1 on the list.
(I was a zombie yesterday from 2XP, and if the coders are also players of the game, they may have been as well. )
Congratulations, everyone who got on in time to make some eye-popping profit!

So you think you're a hero, huh.
@Boltcutter in game.
Even if you didnt get profit because you are stuck and work and cant do anything, at least you are set for life with whatever it is you want. At some point the value of those will go back up, and you can sell them if you want, or just keep them.
Personally, I feel stupid having spent 30 amerits on a 3%. But oh well.
edit: Plenty of other places to make profit too.

I'm sitting on several thousand reward merits, but like most, I'm also at work. However, if the outcome behind this "suspicious quality control" is that the market values crash (for some time frame) then I'm okay with that. I'll either convert to slot, convert to sell and/or convert to store.
Repeat Offenders
NOT saying anything about it like they did when they withheld them from I22 is what is suspect.

They've been live for like two hours. Hold up a bit on the "if they'd just fess up" angle.

Again, they've been live for like two hours. The community team (you know, the people who would be posting to tell us about it) probably arrived at work half an hour ago. The featured items thread for the week went up twelve minutes ago. Give them a chance to respond before you start pointing fingers for not responding.

I'm in the same boat. Did a bit of marketing on my lunch break, but what would have been billions of influence is now just barely making back what I invested to take advantage of this, given that I'm already hours late to the show. I too converted nearly all my reward merits to alignment. Oh well.
At least the crash means I can get things I want.

Zwil posted that this wasn't intentional. It's slated to be fixed next patch, but I have no idea when that would be.

American Steele: 50 BS/Inv
Nightfall: 50 DDD
Sable Slayer: 50 DM/Rgn
Fortune's Shadow: 50 Dark/Psi
WinterStrike: 47 Ice/Dev
Quantum Well: 43 Inv/EM
Twilit Destiny: 43 MA/DA
Red
Shadowslip: 50 DDC
Final Rest: 50 MA/Rgn
Abyssal Frost: 50 Ice/Dark
Golden Ember: 50 SM/FA
That's laudable, but of course ultimately meaningless for anyone who was wanting to capitalize on the actual release of converters.
I'm trying really hard to be civil and rational, but this is damned frustrating.

I am sorry that you guys didn't make the billions you wanted but sometimes things trip you up. Think of it as your broker being unavailable or you are in a no cell service area when a big chance to make a pile comes by.
Anyway, it's not like you lost anything, you'll be able to purple out (very casually now) every war shade you own. All you lost was a chance to make a bunch of pretend money that you don't have anything to spend it on anyway. Besides, I'm sure you will all think of some way to more billions to sit on.
I don't understand all the rage and anger over this bug.
I'm not sorry that the market for purples cratered. Maybe non billionaires can get some purple sets now.
This is really disappointing. First they change the date when the converters go live, then they change the way you buy them. I converted all of my reward merits to hero merits and arranged to work from home last week. Today I'm sitting in the office watching billions of influence disappear from my grasp. Sigh. Very sad panda.

I totally understand where you are coming from though, epic disappointment.

ive rarely had more than 2 alignment merits at once cause i usually use them to buy LOTGs or other things and im also sick and tired of the small selection of tip mishs
if we had more variety of tip mishs it would be easier to stand the repetition but running the same 4-6 alignment mishs EVERYDAY plus having only 2 morality choices gets really old really fast, feels like back in the days of paper mishs (5 paper mishs, bank mish, 5 paper mishs, bank mish)
i usually have more reward merits than anything and nothing really to spend them on except random IO rolls lol

...or put another way, I would *not* rule out "clueless" here - there have been
numerous examples where that was actually the most plausible answer (along
with "never bothered testing the change at all")...
As for EC's themselves, meh - got more than enough inf already, so I simply
didn't bother jumping on the bandwagon -- but, I might pick up a few 3% IO's on
the cheap for some of my toons at the tanked pricing.

For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
I for one had ZERO market aspirations concerning EC. I just want to slot all of these set IO's I have ready to be converted stockpiled.
I think this is a perfect example of how the exact same thing can have many different uses in the game depending on the individuals focus and desires. Cheers.

I gambled pretty big, but it wasn't for a paper profit, per se, it was just to wash my hands of it. I wouldn't say I'm retiring from marketeering, but I wanted to know that if I was doing it in the future it would only be for fun.
Understood.

Also, the PvP IO market is basically decimated. 3% def holding up at 300m, and it's the highest.
