Our good friends at Massively have a new "Choose My Adventure" article up and they're seeking community feedback of which Free to Play/Hybrid MMO they should play with the guidance of their community.

Head over to Massively.com now and vote for City of Heroes Freedom!

I would if CoH were a Free to Play MMO.

There is a difference between Free to Play and a Hybrid system such as we have here.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Voted for CoH, but DAoC is dominating. :/

Which is sad because regardless of how good that game is -and I like DAoC- it's rampant with cheating and unusually vulnerable to cross-teaming for a persistent PvP game. No reason to play a persistent game when your progress and skill are so easily circumvented.

My ex-favorite MMO, S4 League, ran into this problem. It had a huge variety of weapons from the start and was for the most part balanced. Then they added "AP" items, which you bought using real money. They'd add "stats" to the weapons and outfits and the numbers stacked so high you could insta-kill people without any sort of skill.

Completely different and entirely the same.
No reason to play a game when your skill or achievements are circumvented!

I'm glad someone actually got that point.
Others have written it off as something simpler.

CoH has my vote, obviously.

Quite the disparity in that list, though.

Actually the spread is over 3% in CoH's Favor (9.4 to 5.8). Doubt we'll see City though. DAoC & AO have over a thrid each of the votes and City's the highest of the rest. (Of course this is at the time I'm writing this)...

Thank you for the time...

Glad I nailed it, then. It's a great market idea for free to play games, especially PVP, but it was pushed to the extreme.

Looks like we have a long way to go to catch up to DAoC and Anarchy Online. The asian offerings caught my eye momentarily, but I've played so many that are similar in appearance and ultimately disappointed that I went ahead and voted for CoH.

I ticked the CoH box.

(Odd that LoTRO wasn't a choice, as it would seem to fit the mold of his 'modern F2P' grouping.)

City of Heroes was my first MMO, & my favorite computer game.

Since my vote we have gotten over 30 votes, while the rest have gotten 0 to 10 votes.

And that's why a made a thread regarding this in a diff section too, i hope you don't mind Hit Streak... i just want CoX to win.

I remember when there was a diff voting for CoX and two other Hero type MMO's, CoX was behind by a lot, till we took control of the voting and just obliterated the other games. The writer even acknowledged our community for it and said we had shown our true love for the game, and therefor might have the best MMO community out there.

Remember, if you aren't reading sarcasm in my posts, you need to re-read them.

I've played three of the games listed.

One I played for the free month that came with the game when someone gave it to me as a gift. Haven't even considered looking at it after it went to it's new F2P/Hybrid/Whatever model.

One I played for a couple of weeks shortly after it went to it's current model (F2P, Hybrid, not sure how they classify themselves).

One I've played for 8 years now (including Beta).

All are in the same genre.

I don't need to say which one got my vote.
