Paid For Powers?

The powers that you must pay for from the market are, in my opinion, much better with cooler animations thn the standard offered sets, which makes sense since you did pay real money for them and thus should get something a bit better for that cost.

My question is- do you think that in the future they devs will polish up the good ol sets that we all love to give them new animations, updates, etc, make them on the same level as the paid ones (StJ, TW, KM, SF etc...)

They want to. But they have to balance the demands on their time.

I think the dark powers are more likely to be first up due to dark control.

This and the last time they tried polishing up older sets with new animations (when they added extra animations to some of the powers in blast sets) they failed miserably because they didn't put in as much effort into it as they should have and it ended up falling far below the generally accepted standard of quality.

I think quite a few of the standard powersets are really nice as well.
I've bought Titan Weapons, but I don't like it and aren't using it. I do like Street Justice, some of the others I get for free with the VIP account, Time Manipulation is quite fun as well.
I don't think I'm going to buy the Beam Riffle after my disappointment with Titan Weapons.

But things like Fire Blast, Fiery Melee, Martial Arts, Storm summoning and others are just as much fun.

ive never felt that the purchase only power sets are over par what the other sets are

after plaing for 5.5 years i just like seeing the new powersets in general for some more variation lol

Since there are already mechanics in place for using alternate mechanics, there is no reason to "polish up" the current powers as opposed to offering alternatives. This is especially true since there is no consensus that the paid sets actually do look or perform better (see DP).

Just saying.
A lot of the powers have that I think. I know radiation and electricity blasts do.

They did it for all the blast sets.

They did it for all the blast sets, but they didn't do a good job with it.

They could have done so much more. Alternate animations for eyes, chest, wrists (from launchers for lack of a better word). In my mind, if they had done that, they could have expanded the power "life" of existing blast powers.

I'm pretty sure all of the top min/max sets are free sets.

Fire blast for corruptor damage, cold domination for controller (and maybe corruptor?) av/GM soloing, Illusion for controller AV/GM soloing, Super Strength for brute farming, Spines for scrapper farming, every defensive armor set is free.

And sure all the paid stuff has neat things to them, but every free set has something neat to them too.

Personally I'd like new katana animations, for example, but the problem is always that someone out there likes them just the way they are. Also, of course, they don't get more money out of me by just fixing katana up. (Again, as an example).

Plus I remember when all the katana animations were the same as broadsword... so technically it's not one of the oldest sets, animation-wise.

I'll almost certainly be playing a staff melee character come I22 though.

I'd love to see the fire blast snipe alternate animation lose the "i'm constipated and pushing really hard to get this thing out!" starting animation...

At least you're not a stalker. Many AS animations use the constipated animation and AS is a core power unlike snipes which are skippable.

Your avoidance of Beam Rifle is well justified. IMO, it is an extremely underwhelming power set. I got my BR toon to 50, just out of pure stubbornness, but I'll never play her again. It felt like I was getting paroled once she dinged 50.

Sorry to hear you were disappointed in TW. I'm enjoying it so far, and only up to level 29 at the moment.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
