Yay for Club ♥

I am of course referring to the female hairstyle, purchasable on the Paragon Market for 40 Paragon Points, or as part of the Pocket D Valentine Pack for 400 Paragon Points.

I encountered Club quite by accident today and frankly, I have no end of nice things to say about it.

1) It's detailed. A lot of the older hairstyles, while they still look good, resemble the hard plastic wigs you put on the heads of LEGO minifigures. There's a few select detailed hairstyles (Fancy Braid comes to mind), but they're depressingly few in number. Club is one of them, and unlike Fancy Braid, it's casual enough to use in a broader range of costumes.

2) It's short. It's long been a cultural preference for women to have long hair, but all that means is that they're not expected to have buzz cuts. Short hair is still attractive, and it doesn't even have to cover the neck. Ponytails, Posh, Beau Monde... these are all hairstyles that know that. So Club, as it were, doesn't go to great lengths to offer a fashionable design.

3) It doesn't clip. Seriously, this is like the only female hairstyle that has practically no clipping considerations. Glasses and goggles don't clip. The tiaras don't clip. The face details don't clip. It was clear that the design was made in such a way so as to be fitting with as many costume varieties as possible, and for that I'm gonna call it worthy of having a price tag.

The Male/Huge Barbarian belt was pretty snazzy in its own right, but I'll have to say this again: Yay for Club ♥

So feel free to share some costume designs of what you were able to accomplish with Club!

Here's what I've done with Club:

I love the jeans. Pants that don't clip with normal styles of boots (motorcycle, smooth, work, etc).

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

Access to the super tailor chick in pocket D? Awesome, since that runs more points than the pack cost me.

It really is an excellent hairstyle.

Ugh now I gotta buy at least the hair and jeans. But on my main account, when I get more money. When do I got until, March? Hopefully the points come in early enough.

March 6. Either that's the last day to buy them or the day when you can't buy them anymore... not sure which.

Not entirely sure what you mean here. The VIP pass gives you access to the Tiki Lounge, the PD VIP member badge, and the PD teleport power. You still can't use cosmetic surgeons without purchasing the appropriate super tailor thingy.

Doesn't the Pocket D VIP pass cost 500 points when punchased individually? And without the Pocket D pass, you can't get to the Super Tailor in Pocket D, just War Witch (who only has basic tailor functionlity). That's what I assumed Starflier was talking about.

You are correct about needing Super Tailor access to get full functionality from Trina, of course.

The jeans and female hair are awesome, and I've been abusing them since they went live

I agree with the Techbot. I may have some harsh things to say about the "Gibbon DNA" Feet and other assortments, but I've never had anything bad to say about the Club hair or the Jeans. I love both of 'em, and will be using them extensively. Just, ah... As soon as I remember to buy the pack

Hell, I treat this like I did the old days of Booster Packs - if there's enough good stuff in it (and the dev team weren't jerks about what to EXCLUDE from it), I'll get the whole pack just for those items. The art team deserve our support. The hair is great, the jeans are good and the Marty McFly lifejacket is pretty nifty. Sol!

I'm just a bit disappointed I couldn't use that hair on Jun, but it is what it is. I'll have other options

I LOVE the pack, i did only purchase individual items [came to about 220/240 PPs total for me] but the jeans/casual shirt/hair . . . its just the perfect look for so many of my characters.

Anybody who knows me well knows how much of a fan i am of the natural hero look. Plus this look is just perfect for my stj/nrg scrapper! Best clothes items released so far imo.

@Damz Find me on the global channel Union Chat. One of the best "chat channels" ingame!

The hair is even workable for my young teen character, sans highlights. From the back it is a touch older for her than I'd prefer, but it's by far the best thing for a non-girly girl who still wants to look stylish, and it allows her to wear a cape (which is a must!) without clipping.

Hard to find hairstyles for a few of my characters - pigtails/high pony tails are too young (despite the odd number of grown woman characters who seem to favor it), and many hairstyles are either too feminine, too severe, or look too much like "mom hair".

Would love to see more of this sort of hairstyle - a bit tousled, fresh, flattering on a lot of different faces and can be used in some unexpected places.

Really well done! Who do we have to thank for this, besides "everybody"?

Why does City of Heroes have to be such a hard game to love? Here' what I mean:

For a while now, I've badmouthed the metallic tank top and dress options for females from the Pocket D pack, but then I told myself... You know, self. Maybe you're being unfair. Who knows, maybe the metallic top will go pretty well with this biker jacket. I might look weird and wonderful. So me myself and I went looking for the metallic top to go with my Biker jacket, only to discover that... It can't be used with a biker jacket.

Even when I try to be lenient and actually do my best to use pieces I don't instantly like and maybe grow fond of them, I still can't ******* use them because they don't show up for half the categories they could go it! And there's no chance in hell I could have caught this in testing because I wouldn't have had any reason to think of to try it.

And that, by the way, is AFTER I tried to make a "lady gunsliger" by combining the trenchcoat with "saloon girl" outfits, only to realise the "big butt" belt from the Steampunk pack can't be used with trenchcoats.

I wish you could see me shaking my head on the other side of your screen.

I feel that pain with the Gunslinger Belt with a Bow on it, the CoL Sash, and the tassle belt only available with robes! :/

This particular pack was definitely an *everybody* effort, with David doing the concept and Sup, one of our resident character artists, doing a stellar job on implementing the vision.

I refuse to buy the pack until such time as NCsoft Billing fixes my account and actually awards me my monthly stipend.

The pack is quite nice, but the new jeans--at least the femaile versions--are almost unusable. They simply look...wrong somehow.

The rest of the pack offers up some nice pieces, though.
