<<< Dear Devs - A List of Simple Requests >>>
/signed. esp the sky ceiling and wall tiles. dirt and grass floor tiles too maybe.
-i would also like to be able to turn things sideways/upside down but idk if adding another axis to rotate upon would be too complicated :/
-water floor tile-square-box-levels :P
-the ability to place a targetable/attackable/nondestructible object [like the RWZ practice dummies]
it would be nice if a few more objects from the dev map building could be ported over, but that would probably need some coding/redesigning.

my simple request;
How difficult would it be to make objects tintable?

Decorative versions of the expensive base items would be cool. Getting some of the items that are only in Praetoria as base items would also be very nice. The newer designs would allow for a base that feels more 21th century, instead of 1999.
Increase the number of storage bins allowed per base. It would just need changing a single variable in the code. Or remove the limit entirely. Otherwise I'll be building *another* satellite base for storage.
"Home is where, when you have to go there, they have to let you in."
I think that's harder than you think.

ever since PS hired those devs from wow things have been getting and looking better, I can only imagine what they would do for bases. I'd like to know what input they have. Very curious!

Simple, zero thickness wall and floor elements like the Floor Tile, but double sided.
Ideally re-using the existing texture patterns. Wood, white, rustic, gray, cherry, etc.
In like 8x8, 16x16 sizes in addition to the 32x32 Floor Tile.

My request is rather simple, since we're on the subject. It's something I've wanted since I first created my base and something I'll continue to hope for until it's received.
Windows.
Yes, Windows. I want the ability to place a Window on the side of a wall and be able to see out of it. It doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just clouds, or maybe a very basic city view. Just something that lets me know I'm not twelve miles underground or hidden inside a volcano or something.
Of course, site-to-site transporters would be nice for large bases too. Some of those can be truly crazy to try and find anything in.

I know this has been requested before, and this is not a game changer, but I'd like to
not pay base rent anymore. It's not alot, it's just inconvenient. If it can't be
eliminated, then please make it possible to pay without having to go to Atlas every
month.
Thanks.

While we're at it, how about SG Ranking based on number members + total time spent in SG Mode on a monthly basis? That way rankings are based on most active & committed members.
My Freedom SG has only 3 active members but is still a top 50 SG because of past growth. Doesn't seem right.
But I doubt that's an easy thing to do.
An autopay option would be nice. No rent would be best. I don't think it will happen though.

Upkeep can be paid only by vip subscribers, so I'm thinking the way they have things set up we won't be seeing an auto-pay feature.
Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
I think the reason only VIPs can pay base rent is because the code is written in with the SG creation code. Adding an option to autopay under SG options would be a much simpler option.
We would end up paying bi-weekly though, whereas right now we can wait a month.
Fair trade in my book.
Base upkeep, is now an incentive towards making players go/stay Vip.
Wall items and floor items might need to be thicker then nil. In any case vote=(+1) for both, as well as various window views and wall mounted decorative doors(they add to the illusion of space, even if they are only decorative).
1- the ability to "link" rooms. So that if I have 3 workshops, I can place all the functional stuff in one of them for convenience, and simply decorate the others. Alternatively - make it so we can 'adjoin' the rooms, eliminating the doors altogether between identical rooms.
2- More functional entryway space. Allowing a larger entry rooms because forced doorways force design into similar patterns. ALTERNATIVELY: Allow the largest rooms from each category to contain an entryway - but still only one per base. Then we could move the entryway to a larger room & delete the annoyingly small closet.
3- LETTERING. simple, block letters for wall and floor placement - in 3 sizes. This can make navigating the base so much easier for new members or those who are infrequent visitors. Even simple 1-sided white letters would be a vast improvement over the painstaking arrangement of wall lights into bulky signs. But skinned letters would be cake! Flashing neon lights, flourescent white-light letters, pixelated digital letters, brushed aluminum, wood tones, stone, dingy, anything to start. Alternative starting point - simple wall detail signs for basic room titles: Workshops, Portals, Clinic, Power, Control, EGRESS, etc.
4- Staff. Receptionists, technicians, janitors, stock managers - even if not interactive, could be attached to certain, more expensive items: receptionist that comes with a special reception desk. an inventory manager attached to salvage lockers (ideally this guy could access all my salvage for me), a portal tech who tinkers with the teleporters, a med-tech who comes with the MR Unit, etc. The bases really need populating.
Would really like the 2 desks (straight desk, desk with drawers) and the small square cabinets (corner, normal) to be given a variety of colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black, Brown, etc. It would seriously help base building.
A simple request:
Have a Dev check in here once and a while?
If nothing else to let us know whether or not these wish lists are a waste of time.

Don't get me wrong, I've recently returned to the game after a couple years away, and I love that they added in the ability to simply float items and the 6-beacon 'porters. Still, bases seem to be the back-stairs child of the game: everyone knows it's there, but those in high places don't seem to like to talk about them or do much for them. I'd like to think this isn't true, but that's difficult to believe when so little seems to be done and so little feedback is given or forthcoming.
Still, we sally forth. Builders, unite!
My simple requests
-new wall, floor, and ceiling treatment. When I goon missions and see all the cool layouts and items. I ask myself, why can't we have those.
-more decorative items I mean again I seemthis stuff in missions so why can't we have them. I like to have things like pool table, swimming pool, snack machine, work equipment,
- doorways- I would like to be able to bring them down one more notch, but also take the floors 3/4 of the doorway. If that isn't possible then let us place items in there. I got ideas that I can't create with this issue.
- make a building- in other words rather then make room off rooms. Let us have an option to make a floor and be able to make stairs and or an. Elevatore to goto the next.
C'mon Devs! Some of your VIP players like to take some downtime and build there base to unwind. Even if you brought some stuff each issue wemwouldmbe happy. Rightnnowmit seems no one cares about us. Please we just asking for some quality of life issue

Windows. Yes, Windows... |
LMAO! I know, right? We have so many rooms yet no windows. I have had similar thoughts. I have over 50 doorways and no doors? A doorway without a door is called... a hall?
I am confused why the only door we have is a "three door" door that has a monster icon on the third.. ok folks, we thought it was funny when we first saw it, but who actually uses more then 1 of these in their base. Any deco item that has only 1 basic use (attempt at being clever and funny) and so many years later. I say to the devs, "Really? dude... really?"
accessible doors/elevators to make an outdoor or upper level possible along with higher ceilings is what I'd want in the near fiture. I have no idea how hard that would be able to do.
I haven't been envolved with forums, I only logged on once wayyy back to find out and make sure I was stacking right. I haven't dug too deeply into Dev requests. But here's an idea since all of these posts envolve getting a Devs attention. Why don't we request a Dev host a 2 week forum for us or another in game chat channel that is hosted by a dev for small sessions. Is that possible? At least we as editors would have a solid answer if something is or isn't gonna happen.. and if a change could be done.. How long would it take? I think these are fair requests cuz they are free and deserve attention. The question to me now is, "If we knew that one dev was actually listening, then what does he/she have to say?"
Can someone provide me with the thread in regards to base revisions that has Dev envolvement if there is any? And if there hasn't, does this idea have any merit worth pursuing. Cuz it sounds like we all have a sense in understanding why we might not get something done... what we like to edit with (which seems we all have the same needs)
I would just be satisfied for the now with dates of revisions no matter how far off they are. Even with the game content, this game is rather boring with the same edit tools. The more I read these forum posts it seems I will have paid several hundreds of dollars/time to have this done. If thats the case, I think we deserve to know rather then have a dangling carrot that isnt really there.
I brought this up a couple days ago and don't know if anyone had brought it up before.
Since we have no base raid anymore, why dont we nerf AE buildings and put them in our SG. SG arena events can hold SG status/ranks which can also lead to coalition envolvement/ranks. With the thought from another thread using the AE engine to drive a SG base probably sparked this idea so I guess its not my idea but it is one that sparks more SG envolvement/coalition and I think brings out the true dynamic of AEs intention.
...Just a thought
Okay, so we are now seeing the number of beacons that can be attached to telepads increased. This was a possibility brought up at the last player summit. But why did it happen?
My theory is that no redesigning was required. The devs had to do less to make it happen.
So maybe that's how we, as Base Builders, should approach the more immediate suggestions? Let's see what list we can produce. I know what you are thinking...another list? But this one is different. This on will focus on taking existing base items and making improvements of slight adjustments.
What can be done as simply as the new telepads were done?
Request #1
Give us some computers that can be placed in any room as decorative items. I'm talking about the ones that currently can only be placed in control rooms.
Request #2
Give us desks with different textures. Like wood flooring for example.
Request #3
Give us a wall and ceiling tile that has a sky texture.
