Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

As for the OP; I won't be using the queue to join TFs. I don't PuG. However I will be using (assuming it works this way) the function to start TFs while standing on the first door of the mission. 30 seconds less to complete a TF? ILL TAKE IT!
I would say, if you have the minimum for the tf, to queue up and see if you get anymore

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.
So sad to be ending ):
I am definitely use the new feature, given that it works as intended and other people queue up as well. I feel like one reason we don't see more TFs running is people don't really want to put in the energy to form one. I'll often get online and see if any thing is going on and see a lot of messages of people saying they'd join something if anything is going on. When I started running my own TFs rather than waiting for one to start up I ended up getting to do them a lot more often. Sure there are times when it is hard to get something started but even pretty late into the evening I can get a team together if I start doing tells to the entire search list (and that is super tedious). So I imagine that taking away some of the difficulty in getting a TF together will really help things take off.

Here's the problem... you still need a leader, that has always been the issue with the queue. This problem won't go away.

Just curious, if there are 8 people who queue up for first available but no one is try to start any particular event will those guys get grouped into a random tf available for there level or will the just sit in LFG limbo until someone tries to form an actual group?

I think it works by teleporting people to the TF contact, which would be slower than having the rest of team ready at the mission door.

As for trials, lams and bafs are pretty much auto pilot run. I don't see people full pug lfg queueing the higher trials though.

Personally, I will use the new queue extensively for TFs. Incarnate trials, and possibly certain TFs like Dr Q., probably won't work so well with a team from the queue, for the reasons mentioned, but you don't need to be picky for something like Positron.

According to the patch notes, that's exactly how it works. Admittedly, I have not tested it myself.

Either way, despite my own hopes and wishes for it, I think it's better that way.
That goes for pretty much any content in any game. Remember when people thought ITFs were challenging?
I don't think I'll use it much for TFs, but I sure hope it becomes more usable for iTrials. I hate sitting in the queue not being able to do much..
Now I can be running some tips missions or farming something while I wait for an iTrial.
Edit: I said I don't think I'll use it much for TFs, but I still like the idea of it being available to use for that purpose.

Been playing for almost 8 years now and I can't guess how many thousands of times I've seen half a dozen people in the same zone spamming they are looking for the same TF, and not one of them was willing to be leader and invite the others. I'd run some missions and come back 45 minutes later and the same people would still be there waiting for someone else to take the star.
I've seen frustrated players get sick of the spam and invite them to the TF team to help get them started and leave the TF, only to see the losers themselves quit the TF and start spamming again because none of them wanted the star.
I've also seen far too many pug trials fail to start or have people quit upon entering because the team wasn't maxed out.
As long as it doesn't tell me how many others are waiting for a certain TF/SF, trial what have you this thing is gonna be useless like it is for the trials. Good idea poor execution.
I'd like to see the LFG queue succeed, but the problem is that you can't see into it. You don't know how many people are queued for what things, and what ATs those people are.
There's a functional problem with the queue as it is: the trial will kick off shortly after the minimum number of players having queued themselves. If the league doesn't have the oomph to succeed (not enough players, not enough T3-4 powers like Barrier, not enough characters with level shifts), it'll be a waste of everyone's time. The trial will start, everyone will look at what they've got and then they'll all bail. This already happens with Death from Below -- many people bail as soon as they see there's only five or six people queued.
I'd like to see the queue interface beefed up so that it's more like the Find Team window, in that you could see the names and ATs of all the other players looking for trials. I think a pre-queued state is also required to make it work more like a hand-built trial. But that'll be a big project.
For the time being, however, I think two minor changes would help greatly: eliminating the requirement for all members of a league to be in the same zone for the trial to start, and make the LFG channel a global chat channel that everyone can converse on.
This would provide an easy way for people interested in trials to find each other, organize and get started without having to all be in the same zone, which typically wastes five minutes most every time a trial is done, with people alting and what-not.

2 - I believe you mean teammates, which the system currently does care if they are not in the same zone. it's the next thing they are working on for the queue system - they've said this and also mentioned it's harder to do than the letting people enter instances.
3 - The LFG channel would be nice.

So who's going to use the que for the taskforces vs. pre-made teams? I like the idea of it. I still believe that the trials will be formed before hand in RWZ, Pocket D, and maybe DA.
