Could the Midnighter's be the way to the new DA?
*grumbles about plans for DA*
Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
just some idle speculation, but I was thinking about it today. Both Percy Winkley and Ashley McKnight will tell you after completing their respective arcs that you'll need to come see them when you're 50. This of course does nothing right now.
So maybe they're the planned entry ways into Dark Astoria. A dark god subverting reality is right up the Midnight Club's alley afterall |
All they've said is that Blue Steel is going to be invovled someplace in DA - they've not said anything yet about how we'll get there.

I really hope not - Cimerora's enough of a pain as it is.

Yeah, if Blue Steel was really an Incarnate, why didn't he just mop the floor with the Praetorians when they invaded King's Row? In fact, where was he when that happened? You rally at the big coin in front of the PPD HQ and he's nowhere to be seen.

Hm... I guess I missed that. Sometimes the captions go by a little too fast for me to read them.
It's a neat little inside joke - players who are only vaguely aware of him as the trainer at the ploice HQ in Kings Row will probably just assume that he's with more of the PPD, but players who are aware of the Chuck Norris version of Blue Steel will assume that he's fighting off the invasion on his own

Blue Steel's paragonwiki entry might help players catch up with him.
I do hope that the devs keep in mind the absurdity of Blue Steel's feats and somehow work that into his missions or whatever he does, haha.

"I play characters. I have to have a very strong visual appearance, backstory, name, etc. to get involved with a character, otherwise I simply won't play it very long. I'm not an RPer by any stretch of the imagination, but character concept is very important for me."- Back Alley Brawler
I couldn't agree more.
Ten to one odds he's the true Justice Incarnate of City of heroes.
Speaking of Blue Steel...
They need a TF/arc/whatever where CK gets his body back and maybe even gets a date with Penelope.
Orc&Pie No.53230 There is an orc, and somehow, he got a pie. And you are hungry.

While they are at it... Make it an access to echo of galaxy and echo of dark Astoria too

Plus, the Clockwork King is too far gone to just go back to being a human again, and having a one-off date with Penny. Even if he got his body back, he'd still be insane and would still try to keep her as his 'clockwork princess'. More likely, if anything comes about between those two, it'll be when he finally does try to capture Penelope and turn her into an actual clockwork princess, so that she can stay with him forever.
...and then the Story Arc will have us run through hoards and hoards of clockworks, Dukes, and Princes, finally beating the Clockwork King himself as his fortress of gears collapses around him, only to find a single note in the room supposedly holding Penelope that reads "Thank you, Character! But our princess is in another castle!".

While that might make for an interesting 'What If?...' AE Arc, I very much doubt it'll ever become canon for a multitude of reasons. The Clockwork King's original body was killed (or at least we are lead to believe it was) and it's been over ten years since, with the King having gotten his mind transplanted into the 'brain inna jar' on the giant clockwork body (whether or not it's his actual brain or a mishmash of brains his conscience lives in, the latter being my own idea about it, has yet to be seen in-game).

You know, just so happens I know of a slightly used and/or blown up cloning lab in Sharkhead that he could use to whip up a new body. I would be willing to sell it for a reasonable price. I've wondered if Penelope is CW King's daughter or something. When he pops in and says he'll protect her from everything, even boys and all that. The way he speaks about her, and the fact that she is a ridiculously powerful psychic, and her dad seems to have no powers at all. Just wonder if that was going to be some reveal that got lost in a the shuffle of writers.
