Moderation is a fact of life in all forms of medias. After all, we won't see an image that belongs in Playboy in a kid's TV show. Each forum like all media is set with a specific theme in mind and things that don't apply to that theme is subject to moderation since forums follow the rules they have set out and we agree to follow them when we register.

If the speech is something offensive, then it is a matter of the moderators to determine if it is in bad taste or offensive to the theme of the forums.

Freedom of Speech is important, but when it conflicts with other people's freedom to happiness, then moderation is necessary. After all, 500 lb men in speedos or writings that make people dumber by reading it should be moderated for the good of everyone else. One person's freedom is not more important than everyone elses if that person's freedom tramples on everyone else's freedom.

Tell that to the producers of Jersey Shore and Teen Mom and Toddlers & Tiara's and... and...

I understand the logic of moderation in a forum. Thats stating the obvious and neednt be discussed. What I was pointing out is the character of specific posters who expressed desire for this thread to " die an unnatural death by modsmacking" These people are so quick to use the forums rules to their own selfish ends.

But unfortunately for them they will have to wait it out. The moderators are not going to listen to their irrational cries for the banhammer on some guy who is pointing out things they dont want to hear like the emasculation of men in movies with these loser, insecure guys becoming subject to a girl's nonsense and pussification with these pathetic romantic subplots being put into everything or other races being put needlessly in film when it does not make sense or the altering of history to cater to the more politically correct.

And lets not forget stupification. ..watch the beginning of PREDATORS (2010) to witness that. I am sure rational behavior after being dropped from the sky and marooned in a jungle dictates that you shoot at the first person you see. That makes a lot of sense.

SEAL training is rough. As I recall, most of the male candidates who apply fail. It is, of course, illegal for women to apply at this time. If/when that law ever goes away I heartily concur that any woman who could make it through the process would be exceedingly rare.

But that has little to do with being unable to accept it happening fictionally.

The only way a woman can pass SEAL training is if SEAL training becomes SOFT SEAL training and in that case it isnt SEAL training then is it. So she doesnt pass SEAL training cause it aint SEAL training, its SOFT SEAL training. In that case the Navy Seals arent the Navy Seals , they are the SOFT Navy SEALS.

The fictional world of a woman passing SEAL training really really really is streching the imagination to delusional bounds bordering on Pussification.

I like to believe a man can fly like Superman..but I dont like to believe that a woman can pass SEAL training not only because it is more impossible than a man flying ,.... its down right laughable and makes me think about the pussification of the armed forces. Maybe the movie should have been listed as a Comedy.

I suppose the only redeeming quality of G.I. JANE was she had to do everything minus a sex change to look and act like a man to pass the training lol

OMG I am a woman and I can't do SEAL training because it's sooo hard. :P That's ok I'll just give birth, that isn't hard at all no siree. I gave birth without any medication I would love to see any man do that.

Billions of women have given birth throughout history. Seems easy if so many people are doing it.

Need to learn to say what you think without fear of censorship. Being controlled by the thought police will make you crazy. It does not matter really. Only one who would get flak from this thread is me cause the thread pushes the envelope. You saying something now would be like throwing a lit match into a forest fire.

It's called picking your battles. Discretion is the better part of valor as they say. You might burn bright with that attitude but you will not even burn half as long if you push the envelope too far on a constant basis. This thread likely only here because it's a holiday weekend(though sometimes the mods surpise me and let stuff go much longer than expected.), not because we're all too gutless to speak our minds. Anyone who knows my history knows I'll gladly nerdrage it up when I see fit. I say plenty of stuff around here I'm the minority on. WHile I've been busy and laying low, I'm sure I'll find something to tear apart in not too distant future. (Nolan has a movie project due out in a few months muhahaha.)

You want to believe it's all about being too PC around here and not because we like to conduct ourselves in a manner that maintains some level of respect while not kicking over too many hornets nest all at once that's your choice. People are expressing their views, or atleast stating they re disagreeing with getting too crazy about it. People here are not your enemy...not yet anyways.

As someone in the service you should know all about adapting to whatever rules of the place you are to survive at a given time. This no different. Running headlong into the banhammer won't make you a patriot of free speech. It make you just another poster who was shown the door. That is a completely avoidable outcome at this point.

In general you don't need wack people over head with some sort of ideal around here because if there's any truth to what you're saying you're often preaching to the choir. The people who probably really need their minds changed about whatever it is you feel are probably somewhere else. I have certain forum members that I commonly disagree with , but I respect their views(most the time heh.) and see value in their existence even if I never will feel same way they do.

This a great community I've been apart of 7 years, going on 8. So many geek and wonderful things I've learned about or seen as a direct result of running these boards. If you don't feel same way and wish to potentially toss that away thats your deal. While I've killed my share of threads I am not ready to excessively vocal with unpopular opinions that probably shouldn't be voice here in first place just to prove a point I didn't need prove. That's just me though.
