Do holiday mobs (Snowmen) drop purple recipes at 50?
Not sure why they would be any different from any other level 50 critter.

I think they use the scaling code used by the various Invasion mobs such as the Zombies in the Apocalypse and the Rikti during the Invasions. Most of what I've seen drop from those were Level 30 recipes. It didn't matter if I was on a Level 15 or a Level 50 or any other Level, the recipes dropped were always Level 30.
If they are only dropping Level 30 recipes, they won't drop a purple.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I'm not sure they are classified as a true Level 50 critter.

I knew they were door missions, but I also knew that they scaled to the level of the mission holder.
That is what makes me wonder if they are using the same sliding Level scale as the Invasion mobs.
EDIT: Since it's been a year since I ran Lady Winter, I couldn't remember what Level the recipes were that she dropped. It's been even longer since I've run BNY missions.

Since I really don't pay much attention to the level of the rewards that drop on these types of special missions when I run them, I really don't know.
That's why I didn't state my answers as absolutes. "I'm not sure", "I think", "makes me wonder", "I really don't know" and "if" are the words to look at in my responses that let readers know that my responses aren't stated as being definitive answers, even the ones where I'm clarifying what I said previously.

I popped an absolute amazement last night from snaptooth so yes they drop on BNY at a minimum. No reason to assume the LW mission is any different.
I had snowmen in the LW map drop purples twice last night (one Absolute Amazement, one Armageddon). Another teammate got one as well - pet set, I think.
The only thing the snow critters inside instanced maps from Father Time don't seem to drop normally is enhancements. Everything else is standard.

Mostly due to the fact that they are special enemies that only exist for these events caused me to wonder. Since he specifically stated the Snowmen in the title and the two Winter event missions, that left the possibility open that if didn't follow normal rules.
I'm glad to see confirmation from players that they do indeed drop purples.
Now I don't have to wonder anymore.

I can see thinking that because they use the same limited enemies as the street presents.

She did have the *stats* of a level 50 AV, but there were some odd anomalies in the fight:
First, like I said, although her type was listed as an ArchVillain, she had no level listed in the target window - just like a Giant Monster or other scaled mob. Her hit points and endurance were consistent with a level 50 AV, though.
Either she didn't have the purple triangles, *or* they weren't working, *or* they spend a *lot* of time down, because she stayed stunned for about 75% of the fight. (I don't remember seeing purple triangles at all in the fight, but I might have simply missed them - I was focused on other things and not specifically looking for them.)
So unless anyone's ever actually gotten a purple drop from Lady Winter herself, I don't think we can be sure she'll drop purples.

Intended for high level play: The Primus Trilogy (Arc #s 10931, 283821, 283825), "Freakshow U" (Arc #189073), Purification (Arc #352381, Dev's Choice!

Intended for low level play: "Learning the Ropes" (Arc #100304), "Cracking Skulls" (Arc #115935), "The Lazarus Project" (Arc #124906)
Even critters using the GM code that have a "native" level that is not 50 can drop purples. I would not have thought this was the case, but it has been reported several times, and I actually got one from a Winter Horde in Lord Winter's Realm. (The ones in the BNY and Lady Winter missions have levels, but the ones in LWR use the GM code.)

Another confirmation on purple drops from snowmen. Had an Apocalypse drop from a snow best last night.

Last year I had an amazing run of luck running the Lady Winter mission repeatedly and got quite a few purples (close to 10). And Diamonds. For some reason I had an overly abundant amount of Diamonds.
Haven't tried the mission this year.
I got 6 total purples soloing Lady Winter many many times last year for a nice boatload of canes, and a teammate got one on our SG night run this year. I like that mish as a nice break from Demons and BM warriors. Recommended.

If I do the Baby Winter or the Lady Winter mission at 50, do these mobs have a chance to drop purples? Wondering because I want to get more Candy Salvage and I have a bunch of Windfalls to burn from the Black Friday Weekend.

For candy canes, set it to +0x1 and just go for the targets. It takes about 5-10 mins to take out the obelisks and LW then pick the 5 CCs reward.
Yes, as long as the mission is lvl 50. It seems purps drop more for Lady Winter. YMMV though. I remember doing at least 3-5 runs of a clear all of the map and getting 1 or 2 purp drops. Set your diff to +0x8 to kill as many of the marshmallo beasties as fast as possible and good luck!

And counting zone loading times it seems to me to be more effective just to keep the mish at -1x8 and clear out the mobs as the candy canes fall pretty frequently from them. But it depends on what type of character you use.

I could be getting two birds with one stone...
