on another note, Sgt. Slaughter is rumored to have a cameo role and I don't see Marlon Waynes listed in the cast list, so I guess it's safe to say he dies off camera? ;D

I've thought Dwayne Johnson was pretty awesome ever since The Scorpion King ... might have go to see this ... after I find out what this GI Joe thing is all about >.>.

After he kills someone with a katana.

Also, this movie better have an after-credits epilog where Cobra Commander is shown having a secret meeting with Megatron. I'm just sayin'!

If you wanna know what Gi Joe is all about, read the comics, Marvel's original run, or the more recent ones by Image\Devils Due, or even the more recent ones by IDW.

this movie, is NOT Gi Joe. "Rise of Cobra" Was an abomination of Gi Joe, and even worse, it was just a bad freaking movie with horrible acting, questionable SFX, bad writing and a bad story.

Now this movie, seems like they pulled some of the crap actors from the last movie, and their characters. A shame since Scarlett isn't listed on IMDB, and I always liked her character. The actress, Rachel Nichols, who played her though did a horrible job, though to be fair the character was horribly written.

No Ripcord or Breaker this time, fine by me, ancillary characters at best. Not sure when Roadblock got to be leader of the unit, but still better than Heavy Duty.

Bruce Willis is good, but I'm not sure he fits General Joe Colton.

I'm excited for the additions of Lady Jaye and Jinx to the Cast, I'm glad to see Cobra commander in his proper helmet, and the cast has some actual names in it now... But given the travesty that was the first movie, I just can't think this is going to be any good.

Channing Tatum is back as Duke... Horrible choice, but it makes the decision to have Johnson as "Roadblock" being the leader much more understandable.

Characters of Flint, Tunnel Rat, and Firefly added to the mix, all good stuff. But no General Hawk? And of course Storm Shadow is back ,what was the point of pretending to kill him though if he comes back the very next flick? Also no mention of Baroness or Destro in the IMDB either, which disappoints me, they are good characters if acted and written with any talent what so ever.

Honestly, this movie might have a few good things going for it, they pulled many of the bad actors from the last movie but seemed to pull the characters with them, so it's a wash. Also any sequel to the last story... I just can't see it being good..

So now time will tell, will I see it in movie with the vague hopes my faith in a Live action GI Joe Movie I waited since my child hood for might be fullfilled, or will i stand on principle and after seeing the insult they called the first movie and skip this one. Time will tell.

I'm expecting a after credits scene w/ those two. Maybe General Hawk will be saved for the third movie?

Storm Shadow is probably a clone. (don't remember the movie that faithfully...)

I don't know about saving him. General Hawk was already in the first movie, played by Dennis Quaid.

Nice clip. Very well done. Very slick.

Still not enough to make me want to spend money on it.

I'll wait for cable.

This.

Basically, if you don't see Larry Hama's name on it, skip it. Find something with his name on it.

While I agree, some of IDW's stuff is awesome, too. Notably, Snake Eyes: Declassified.

Fair enough - I haven't read any of the more recent comics so I can't comment on their quality.

As in the wrestler Sgt. Slaughter? Or the G.I. Joe character?

If the second, he was in the last movie too. That was the Brendan Fraser sequence with BF as the Sarge..

Since the character was based on the wrestler the answer to your question would be yes.

Okay I retract this.

A little more research on this shows him as Sgt. Stone, not Slaughter.

My bad.

Is it just me or does this trailer look...well....cheaper than the first movie? I feel like it's almost a straight-to-DVD with a B-list lead in Dwayne Johnson (yes, he's charismatic and does action well, but he's not A-listing movies, he's often playing a supporting actor role), and Bruce Willis doing his 'I'm Bruce Willis' thing, which isn't bad but isn't necessarily great, either.

It just felt....underdone, somehow.

Eh, I don't know about 'cheaper'- the first one had a fairly hefty FX budget, and, well, you saw how far that got them. I didn't necessarily hate the first one, but I wasn't especially interested in anything involving a sequel, at least until I saw the trailer- solid-looking stunt work, the Rock, and Bruce Willis? Not necessarily 'MUST SEE IN THEATRE!', but I'm at the very least mildly intrigued.

*shrug*

We'll see how it goes, I suppose.

Did people actually enjoy that first film? I rate it as the worst film I've seen the past years. Before Transformers 2 and Wolverine.

That said, the trailer for Retaliation looks a bit better, plus there's Bruce Willis. I might watch it when it's on cable.

the first one might have been better off if they tweaked those body suits and called it The Centurions >.> POWER...EXTREME!!!
