Enhancement Converters
Glad I found this in the Dev Digest. I love the options and prices you listed Positron .
One thing I'm wondering is if you convert by type, and throw in a rare, is it possible/common to get a common/uncommon instead of another rare?
Has the estimated droprate for catalysts been mentioned anywhere yet? I'm wondering if they'll drop like the useless temppowers, or be the rarity of getting a numina/lotg globalIO as a drop.
Also(and random) I hate the cooldown timer on AMerits. Devs have widely complained about stockpiled currencies. Gating the spending of them(especially when a great option like this is gonna be released and people have been saving for them) doesn't help the stockpiling issue any .

Now that the converter has been introduced, the prices of purple and PVP sets has been greatly reduced at the WW and BM. So the converter is doing a lot to help the average player attain the purple and PVP sets that they were otherwise unable aquire. In this aspect converters are great.
The second order of effects of easier access to purple and PVP sets through enhancement converters is that now hero merits are almost worthless. For example, it takes a minimum of 70 days of straight tip missions to buy one pancea healing at 35 merits, which used to sell for about 1.5-1.8 billion and now sells for about 300 million influence/ infamy. Given the new value of PVP and purple sets, I would like to recommend reassessing the value of these recipies at the hero/ villian merit vendors.
Going off on a bit of a tangent here... but am I the only one who thinks it's maddness to have 4 seperate currencies of merits to be earning and spending? This is getting more complicated everytime they add something new.
Good change though... good for the game. I like that it's VIP only. IMHO, the goal of marketing should be to gradually push people toward the decision to become VIP.
I gotta make pain. I gotta make things right. I gotta stop what's comin'. 'Least I gotta try.
From what I've seen anecdotally thusfar, it appars these drop like purples...except unlike purples, you can *only* get them in Incarnate Content

So they can come from anywhere as long as you are VIP.

So I've been directed here by GM Xionaque after posting a ticket in game about the enhancement converter system. I could not start a new topic for this question so I figured this would be the best place to get some clarification on the question.
I have an Analyze Weakness, level 43 accurate defense debuff enhancement. I would like to use a category conversion of this to a Shield Breaker enhancement, which is also an accurate defense debuff enhancement, but the drop down menu under out of set conversion doesn't allow me to select that. Now I'm not sure why and Xionaque has not given any reasons either, just simply that the system is working properly.
I have two theories of my own: 1. That because my Analyze Weakness enhancement is level 43 and the max level of any shield breaker is level 30 that the conversion is impossible.
2. That the system is, in fact, not working as it should.
I believe that the first may be the right answer, however in an effort to possibly bring light an oversight in the conversion system I would appreciate some clarification.
Thank you, Nebulak.

Death is part of my attack chain.
Thank you for the reply grouchy, I scoured the Paragon wiki looking for that, I must've just overlooked it. Funny that GM Xionaque couldn't answer the question.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.

One thing I'd like to point out (unless it's been changed internally) is the level of the IO is taken into consideration when converting. So a level 50 IO will NOT convert into an IO from a set that caps out at 35 or 40. This can sometimes greatly limit conversion outcomes. For example: If you convert an Aegis IO above level 40 to another Resist Damage set, you'll only get Titanium Coating IOs as the result because these are the only two non-VR or PvP Resist Damage sets that go to 50. Edit: You can also convert boosted IOs, and the Enhancement boosts will remain intact. |

There should be an VIP in-game source to earn enhancement boosters. I would recommend purchase with Empyrean merits. Selling them in the paragon market ONLY creates an unfair competitive advantage for those with extra cash.
It works for converters, lets get those boosters available too!
Interesting Necropost. If you're Tier 9 on the rewards program you can use Tokens to get boosters that way as well.
(And I had to fix my initial response as I read yours incorrectly.. my bad. )

Yeah you get like 25. It is a nice deal to finally be able to boost my IO's. It can really make a big difference in slotting of powers.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.
