30-40 and 40-50 Praetorian Content?

Well I was surprised we ever got 20-30 content for Praetoria, despite how much I was silently begging for it. First Ward, while I wouldn't run it a third time(Ran twice), was great! It ended with a few loose ends though. Did we ever free Kate from the network?

Also not to mention we have a CERTAIN implied group coming our way Soon™. I assume we'll get some story arcs leading up to a possible trial involving this group.

However this also raises the question: Would this eventually lead to Praetorians being able to stay in Praetoria through 50? It would certainly feel different to pick a side right before end game content, but I don't know. It could be kind of cool to keep running the high quality plots of Praetoria until 50 instead of breaking off at 20 or 30 to run the more standard and subtle plots.

I don't think so. I think they're preparing to move on from Praetoria with new content.

Hopefully when they move on, we will finally see the Coming Storm storyline and what the Shavian really look like and get an idea of what they are wanting to attack earth for.

First Ward is a big zone, and it's not fully utilized in the current content. I absolutely think they are going to flesh it out some more and eventually have a Praetorian storyline all the way to level 50, even if it takes 4 more issues to do it.

I'd LOVE to have 30-50 content for Praetoria. I also wish that if that happened, Praetorians could leave to Primal Earth without converting to hero or villain first.

I don't expect either to happen anytime soon, if ever. But it'd be nice.

I think this will be largely dependent on how well the First Ward sells in the store.

Obviously it is because we have the best cheese in the known multiverse. Also, they want to beat our times on the ski slopes during the winter event so they can point and laugh and go "ha-ha".

Because we have the Question to Life, the Universe, and everything, and their Douglas Adams is a Greater Devoured who never wrote the books.

You can do that now, but I haven't heard of many people doing so.

'I don't like the look of it at all,' said the King: 'however, it may kiss my hand if it likes.'
'I'd rather not,' the Cat remarked.
'Don't be impertinent,' said the King, 'and don't look at me like that!' He got behind Alice as he spoke.
'A cat may look at a king,' said Alice.

I believe the number was 9, and one of them was Arbiter Fabulous's character.

No, Katie remains part of the network by the end of the First Ward arcs. And, from what I hear, she isn't mentioned or shown being freed at the end of the upcoming Minds of Mayhem Incarnate trial where we bring down Mother and the Seers for good.

Either she's one of the hundreds of Seers that players kil-- um...'defeat' during the trial, or she'll be freed somwhere in the 30-50 range.

Or the devs have forgotten about her. Just another woman in the refrigerator.

I've been wondering lately if the reason we're railroaded into reactivating the Seer Network in the First Ward is simply so the Incarnates can be the ones who *really* shut it down. Pathetic, if so.

Anyway, the game badly needs more 30+ content everywhere, not just Praetoria. I'm hoping the devs have some love for the mid- and late game coming in the next few issues.

20 villains, Victory, Justice, Infinity, Virtue, Triumph, Exalted -- some more active than others

Vanessa DeVore is dead and Penelope Yin has slowly been falling into madness while trying to drive Tillman crazy. Katie isn't strong enough and the Resistance sure as hell isn't strong enough.

Oh god yes. Such a shame to do the new level 1-20 content, the cool clone/mediporter arcs and such, and then get the bland 30+ content :/. Maria Jenkins is fun and all but ehh.

well, as per prometheus, the coming storm is the battalion, shivans arent implied to have much intelligence, so not much of a choice in the matter, they may even be something akin to the hydra, slaves used as disposable cannon fodder.

Perhaps all this time the Shivans were slaves to the battalion.

At the Pummit keynote, the devs said that the Katie situation was intended to be a cliffhanger and will be resolved down the line. So that suggests some 30-40 and 40-50 content is on the way at some near future date.

My problem with that is the nature of content release in this game makes cliffhanger storytelling like that ineffective. This is simply because issues take time and they don't always continue with the same thing in the next issue. Case in point, they've been building hype for the Coming Storm for YEARS, but now many are burnt out from waiting and being teased for YEARS and no longer care.

TV shows can get away with cliffhangers because the viewers only have to wait between Spring and Fall to see them resolved. The devs could and can get away with that with the SSAs because they have a faster turnaround. But doing it the 'old way' with zone arcs just doesn't work.

You're assuming that issues will be coming out at the same pace as before. It's pretty clear that they've accelerated their release times on pretty much everything.

If TV shows can maintain cliffhangers for 9 months, CoH should be able to as well.

Some 30+ Praetorian contne twould be nice - but the Problem with Praetoria is that it's much more limited story-wise, because it's a world that's been very carefully set up to be limited - it's a fascist dictatorship surrounded by dangerous wilderness - it just doesn't have the huge story potential of Primal Earth, because it's been written to focus on a single situation which is world wide.
There's still room for more of the Paretorian story, but as we've already gotten the totalitarian city and the survivors in the wilderness parts of the story, anything else would need to be a variation on that, because that's basically all the world is - everything revolves around the 2 monsters of the world - Tyrant and the Hamidon.
So even if they made something like, say, one of the West Coast settlements that Marauder used to rule, it'd still be heavily focused on Tyrant and the Hamidon, because the world set up demands it - while Primal Earth is totally flexible, and can have things added like Croatoa, or Cimerora, or Galaxy City destoryed, or Dark Astoria revamped, without needing to reference any world wide siuation that limits what the storylines can be about.
