I Want a Color Wheel!
I've heard that the costumes are set up to handle a system like a color wheel before. As such, I'm really surprised that this hasn't been put into the game already. There are just so many colors that you can't get for apparently no reason.

I wholeheartedly support the idea of adding a color wheel. Or maybe just a red/green/blue color mixing system like we have with our chat bubbles. We need more specific control over what colors we pick. I'm so tired of picking out my costume pieces and coloring them... only to find that a certain swatch looks different on all of them. That's not an exaggeration either. Depending on the costume piece, a specific type of blue can range anywhere from blueish-green and a deep blue... I even used it on an aura and found it more purple than blue. Same swatches, all the way across.

And it's kind of sad our chat has more variation on color than our costumes.

If Masterminds didn't suck, they'd be the most powerful AT in the game.
The reason why they took this out is because people were getting too many skin toned naked toons. As such it was removed.
I'd love to have a color wheel. Besides I think the whole naked toon thing is kinda overblown seeing as you can already pretty much make naked blue people and such.

At least add some more colors in if you're not going to allow full control?
I want full RGB selection myself. For skin tone as well as costume pieces. Making lizards and demons/devils is constantly a colouring annoyance.
Making robots with certain robot pieces is also an annoyance, but that's largely due to some goof deciding that 3/4 of certain pieces would be forced to be an unmatchable, unchangeable grey. Down with uncolourableness!

Covered that in the OP. It's a weak reason not to at least put in more swatches. A color wheel though, would be preferable with mods just doing what they have to in order to generic the immature.

As much as I'd love a color wheel or raw RGB entry to clean up my gargoyle sleeve-to-torso seams, it will be the people who lack maturity and repsect that will keep me (and others) from doing so.
A colour wheel would definately need to be VIP Exclusive in the current environment of the game.
Although I have to say I would much rather the freedom it would provide than the protection to my adult eyes not having faux-naked toons we currently have.
That's a simplistic way of looking at it. By the same logic, we could just remove traffic lights from intersections and let the police ticket people who break right-of-way laws.

Wut I've never seen skin before, I don't think I can handle this level of coloring ability!

Besides, it's not like any "nudes" people could make would be anymore risque than a Barbie or Ken doll.

I am frequently stymied in my design attempts by the infuriating lack of tertiaries in the swatch palette. Plenty of pure hues (too many perhaps), a bunch of shades and tints but almost no tones! Whoever designed the palette was not a graphic designer.
If you're curious, here's the difference.

Here's the issue: players making "nude" looking characters.
Why?
This game is T for Teen.
Well, for one, in the way my character works as a stalker? Can't have any clothes to be invisible. Therefore, she's nekkid.
Well, Nearly Nekkid, as she's called. In the sake of decency, some very *very* expensive light bending undies are worn, but they are very close to her skin color, so while she has the *appearance* of being nekkid, she's really not. If it were that I didn't want the character generic'd, though, I'd totally have gone nude with the character. It's not like they have any definition (a la angels/demons in Dogma), so it's not like you can really see anything anyway.
But that's a reason: Clothes interfere with the 'canon' of the character.

Having said that, +1 on the Color Wheel, but ONLY for VIPs. As I'm one of those, win for me.

Adding a color wheel doesn't make the game suddenly enter the "mature" category.

Just to add a little bit of historical info to this thread the "nude nerf" was literally part of one of the very first major patches to the game that came in just a few weeks after it launched back in 2004. We never had a color wheel but we did have the standard "skin tone" swatches available as choices for both costume items and skin color. This made making a nude character very easy because all you had to do was set a costume item to be same color as the base skin color. The nerf basically involved removing the skin tone choices from the costume item color palette.
The sad part about this is that we know for a fact that the game can already support setting costume items to any RGB color. We know this because when the Devs added the costume save/load feature a few years ago it was possible (before it was quickly nerfed) to manually edit any RGB color value into a saved costume file and load it back into the game. It looked really cool but as I said it was quickly taken away from us.
At this point I don't expect we'll ever get a color wheel to pick any color we want because A) it'd take a solid amount of Dev effort to modify the game for that and B) they probably don't want to make it once again trivial to make skin tone nude characters. I personally think the idea of preventing us from making Ken and Barbie dolls is silly (especially since we can still make nude characters with other non-flesh colors if we want) but it is what it is.

I know it's had to come up plenty of times before, but I just don't care!
I want a color wheel! Enough with Swatches for our character creator. This game has come so far graphically, that basic primary colors should be considered child's play!
Look, I'm aware of the potential for people making "nude" toons will be increased, but do the rest of us with a sense of style have to suffer? It's why we have moderators, isn't it!?
I want to see neon colors. I want to see dingy colors. I want to see an orange-red every once in a while! We don't even get orange-red!! It's just red or orange! But we get 3 variants of purple!? Who am I? Prince??
*tries to calm down*
Ok, so yeah, back to my point. Can't we implement a color wheel by this point? If not, if it's just a straight out impossibility, then let's at least add in a heck of a lot more swatches.
Pretty please!?
