The future sets

I never understood the Dual Pistols Melee argument. Can't you just stand in melee range and shoot? Is actually calling it a melee set any different than just limiting yourself to only attacking while in melee range?

I want to fire munitions from my body, a la robotics pets, Malta bots, and the IDF troopers, the Clockwork shoulder zap would also fit into that mix.

I've long advocated a Prehensile Hair melee set. It's a staple of comic book characters and it could be flavored in much the same way as dual pistols with Fiery hair or Snake (Toxic) hair. I see it as having short-duration controls as a secondary effect, maybe each hit has a 20% chance for a 5-secon immob or mag 1 hold or something.

since shields came out as a melee set i've wondered why not a blaster set as well.

light ranged single target / heavy ranged single target / cone / AOE all stuff you'd expect from a shield ala captain ameri*cough*

even a nuke that would likely resemble [shield charge]

I've often thought about a Shapeshifting primary powerset, or even a Shapeshifter EAT. Similar to how Kheldian Dwarf and Nova forms work, but with more options to shift into. Now that we're just starting to see four-legged models appearing in-game, it looks like the basic capability is there. To make as many people as possible happy, there would probably have to be more than nine powers to choose from, again like Luminous Blast and Umbral Blast are currently executed. But the ability to shift into forms such as Wolf, Panther, Bear, Tiger, Snake, Falcon, Gorilla, Komodo Dragon... That could be very cool indeed.

Bantam - toggle shape shift Shrink tinytiny [stealth and defense] to about the size of the combat-fairy-pet
Gargantuan - toggle shape shift Grow BIIIIGGG [dmg and resistance] to about the size of the abomination or halloween monster. might be limited to outdoor use but im ok with that.
Increase Density - self-click Buff for 1m
Belittle - enemy shrink debuff slow and -def

and hair or head-tendril i could totally see as a Dominator Secondary set best. some meelee some ranged, varied effects. lethal/smash, fire, poison, electricity dmg options.

I posted this a long time ago and I still think it is a good idea.

I'm surprised that they haven't released either Radiation Armor or Radiation Melee yet. Er, I mean, I'd like to see those in game.

Clones seem like something that works for NPCs but would be impractical for players. Kind of like how DJ Zero's superpower is to create pocket dimensions. It works for an NPC but I can't imagine how it would be something they could give players.

That's like insisting that Controllers need to have a Time Control primary to go along with their Time Manipulation secondary. Sure it'd be thematic. It's also largely unnecessary.

You don't have to have a custom-tailored set pairing for every conceivable character concept. More to the point, you're not going to get one. Powersets are a ton of work to make. The new ones are going to fill broad thematic and aesthetic categories, not narrow, niche ones.
