Since this seems like a nice pie in the sky type of thread I will go ahead and toss out some stuff I would love to see done up as well.

I feel we have plenty of "generic-looking" power sets currently and we really need a few power sets that are visually more specific. Some examples that I would love to get my hands on would be:

Power Armor set - Actual mechanical weapons graphics and animations as well as utility powers, examples could be: Gatling gun strapped to the arm or shoulder, missile packs above both shoulders, wrist or hand beam emitters, a toggle that pops up a small radar dish that perhaps grants ranged/AoE defense as it lets you detect incoming projectiles, A temporary ablative force field that basically gives you extra hit points which is powered by your endurance, each time you get hit, you lose some shield strength and endurance, which slowly recharges, get hit enough and the shield fails. A targeting computer that gives you a to hit buff and perhaps resistance to debuffing, and possibly grants you a small chance to do extra damage, etc.

Arcane magic - Actual magic-looking powers, a few examples already exist like the temp magic blast you get in Croatoa, the Vanguard costume change emote, etc. As well as some off the top of my head, an obviously magical arcane shield that protects the user or allies, eldritch magic bolts that the user can "cast" at foes, using the recent clone tech to create identical duplicates of the caster in order to cause confusion and divert attacks from the user to them. Something like Phantom Army only defensive in nature and not offensive. Tons more examples for magic since it's an easy concept to create ideas for since, well, it's frikkin magic!

I understand the Dev's reasoning for previously making power sets a tad too generic looking because they wanted those powers to be able to fit the largest majority of player concepts possible.

But I think after a point making them follow the same formula becomes redundant in a way, a good example of what I mean is Energy Melee and Kinetic Melee. Take away the power set names and you can really replace either set with either set for a character's concept.

Also I think if you pick the right specific power sets to create then they will be already generic enough, take the case for Beam Rifle, it's kind of specific, yet it's generic enough to be viable for many character concepts.

I hope that Beam Rifle is a sign that the Devs might want to make a few more specific themed sets in the future, like a Power Armor, or Spell Casting set, etc.

I'd like to see something like "Monster Play" from LOTRO. In that, you play one of several creatures from Tolkien lore, and instead of leveling up, you earn currency you can spend to either upgrade the monster you're playing, or unlock new classes of creature to use.

In LOTRO it's primarily a PvP thing, but it wouldn't necessarily have to be here. It would be fun to run around sewer trials as a Longbow new recruit, PPD rookie, or even just a Hellion beating up on my own kind, working my way up to more powerful unlocks.

It could work as an EAT too, for Protean-style doppleganger characters, though trying to fit something like that in with the enhancement system is a headache.

Of course, more lore-based EATs would also be fun. I would love to play a Rikti, with a modified costume screen like what VEATs have, or anything else that you can't just make with an approximate costume and a similar power selection.

Yeah. I thought about this as well. They can create certain "Lore ATs" where you can level from 1 to 50. The leveling process will be more limited, meaning that you are not going to get much flexibilities and you have a lot less powers to "learn" from.

My initial idea is that you pick a boss from the Lore class (ie Master Illusionist) and the signature powers will be summoning the Minions and Lieuts from that lore class (Strongman and Illusionist).

I am not sure if they'll go for it since we already have Lore Pets.


What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

With the introduction of German Shepard, do you think it's possible to create a Primal/Beast Set for Mastermind?

Tier 1: 3 Wolves/Dogs

Tier 2: 2 Cats/Lions Or Hawk/Eagle (with sonic blasts. :P)

Tier 3: 1 Bear/Gorilla

I would love to play a "Druid" theme MM! :P The 3 powers for Primal, I think...

1. Throwing Knife as tier 1 attack

2. Bite as tier 2 melee attack that has good debuffs.

3. Whistle as tier 3 power which buffs the pet by giving it more defense/damage, much like Bestial Wrath from Beast Mastery?

Two that I recently thought about are Water Control for Controllers/Dominators and maybe a Beast Summon for Masterminds. I really want a Water based power at some point if it's even possible to do.

I bring it up in most of these discussions, but I would like to see a melee set based around Draining Touch. Instead of punches and kicks the set would contain touch animations. In the same way Psi attacks ignore Ranged tags, the set could ignore Smash/Lethal/Ene/etc tags.

I would also like to see a blast set where the blasts descend from the sky straight down on top of enemies instead of arcing from the player to the enemy horizontally.

And of course Water and Insect control.

I'd also like to see some really weird, creative armor sets. This game has a unique opportunity to create some truly awesome stuff here. I feel like we've barely scratched the surface on the possibilities.

I also think as more of these sets become available, purchasing them should also unlike an APP set for some other ATTs. For example, Beam Rifle powers in the Controller/Dominator APPs. I think this would greatly boost sales as well.

I think if they were goin' to do this, they would've followed through with Blood of the Black Stream and Coralax.

Which I still think they should do. Along with Shivan and Rulu-Shin.

I always think of my old Druid from Diablo 2 when someone mentions a Beast mastermind. I like the wolf/big cat/bear line of thinking. I think they could, rather than have their own tier, place birds in of some sort as a power akin to Hell on Earth, an eagle or similar that would buff a single pets tohit and periodically attack, or Gang War, calling down a flock of ravens for a limited time.

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.
