Enter Game Sound
I hated that old sound, personally. I remember trying to find out how to change it.
*thumbs up* Glad that the people that like the sound can have it back.
wow thanks! That was one of the things I didn't like about Freedom, and now it's back

It is a really odd change, in my opinion.
I don't necessarily care if they wanted to change it... But... to a weak sound like it is right now? That is really odd to me.
My wife has commented about it several times to me. It's just so... anti-climactic, uninspiring... dull.

If not the old sound... I feel like it should be something like returning to a fun, action, superhero show... The only example I can think of is the old Justice League cartoon sound effect. They knew how to provide a sound effect for a scene change!
I am disappointed that they just stuck such a dull sound on there. Not a huge deal... but I don't get the point of such a change.
Anyway, those are my thoughts about it.
I'd like to see it changed. The sooner the better.
Also, thanks for the player-made fix.
If they don't change it soonish, I may just use that.

I was impressed by it the first time I heard it. The new character log-in screen is not as bright and toy-like as it was pre-i21. Like the game, it has grown more sophisticated. The old sound seems almost childish. Sometimes understatement makes a stronger statement.

...(I probably just put way too much thought into that.)

Haha... honestly, it sounds like flipping a page. I figured it was a bit of a comicbook reference. Not such a bad idea... but... I feel like that was one place that childish overstatement really fit!
So there, Mister Too-Sophisticated Electric-Pants!!

Thanks!
The new sound is disappointingly uninspiring and anticlimactic. Before it was like "Here we GO!!!!" Now it's like "Are we going somewhere? Oh hey loading screen, I guess so."

Thanks for the files. I was really surprised that they changed that sound. Let's face it, after 7 years a person gets used to some things. I think Pavlov had a thing or two to say about that.
Consider me one of those that got tired of the "enter game sound" after having listened to it for several years. IMPO, it didn't age well.
OTOH, I'm glad it's preserved for posterity for its fans
I too, miss the old amazing sound of logging in. Entering City meant business!
Now, oh, mouse click. How exciting.
Clearly, we need more lasers.

Yay, I have my enter game sound back again! Thank you so much, this is one of those little things that was just bugging the heck out of me. The old sound feels like "OK, time to go kick some rear!", while the new one just felt like.... "ok, I pressed a button". Just wasn't the same feeling.
(Now if only I could fix the menu music...)

Thanks. I missed the old enter game sound. Will be glad to have it back.
Because the former "Enter ___" button is now just one of a series of "Next" buttons, the sound when you enter the game is just a regular ol' click. I much prefer the old "PYEOWWwww dududu"* sound.
*Or however you type it.
