Interesting fact about the Guardians. If there are more than one in a single spawn, only one of them will spawn the quartz (if you see two quartz drop, that's an overlapping pair of spawns). However, if you destroy the quartz or you destroy the Guardian before he drops his quartz, the other Guardian will *immediately* drop his quartz. So in a spawn with two Guardians, its almost impossible to prevent the quartz from being dropped for at least a short period of time.

Had SR since Mar 2005, harsh times.
He will honor his words; he will definitely carry out his actions. What he promises he will fulfill. He does not care about his bodily self, putting his life and death aside to come forward for another's troubled besiegement. He does not boast about his ability, or shamelessly extol his own virtues. - Sima Qian.
I think I will stick still to the 1-50 game and ignore the incarnate stuff. I never been much of an end-gamer in this game anyways. In that game: I'll cheat with temps to avoid caltrops
Excessive ToHit buffs and attacks with no positional typing are keeping me from rolling a SR tank, though.
Oh, and I recommend finding someplace to stick this: Winter's Gift: Slow Resistance.
20% resistance to movement slow and recharge debuffs doesn't sound like much, but it stacks onto Quickness' 40% resistance to both. Getting that to 60% resistance to movement debuffs and recharge debuffs can actually quite useful, and you can always throw it into Sprint. |
When she says how she puts Aid Self onto her SRers, I just plug my ears and go, "La, la, la!"
As to Devouring Earth, just pull. They'll drop their buffs and then run right out of them. The only time I found Confront worth the power pick on a Scrapper.
The best comics are still 10!

Super Reflexes: the Golden Fox of power sets!
WARNING: I bold names.
Arcanaville once again gives good advice. One thing you don't hear about Super Reflexes all that much is that it mitigates slows better than any melee armor set, with the sole exception of Ice Armor. Most slows miss you, and the ones that do get mitigated, and Winter's Gift turns that mitigation up another big notch.

Why MA ratings should be changed from stars to "like" or "dislike"
A better algorithm for ordering MA arcs
Another SR/MA tanker here, my cyborg ninja pharoah. A lot of fun so far, I haven't played a tanker in a long, long time. Finally hit SOs and end is no longer a problem, I'm soft capped once I connect with a storm kick and the damage isn't as bad as I thought it might be.
Probably the nicest thing is that I don't feel the need to trick the character out with IOs like I do with a dominator or corrupter, I'll just get some cheap sets and merrily go on my way.
Here you come with a stupid name like Fixer - brutalkillz_
I rolled a SR/KM last night, I've never flown so quickly through missions.
But its true, you'll need to put alot into defense, otherwise you take some serious dmg.
4 slots for toggles, 3 for auto defenses, and slot weave up, that's it while leveling.

I got a lvl 30 SR/MA and he is awesome, but I was wondering, what incarnates are the best for a SR? This is a 100% PvE tanker. So far this is what I am planning to get.
Alpha Slot: any suggestions?
Judgement: Ion
Interface: Reactive
Lore: any suggestions? (I want a pet that can heal)
Destiny: Rebirth
Proton Sentry Peacebringer:lvl 50+++ - Human Build / Triform Build
Quasar Sentry Warshade:lvl 50+- Human Build / Triform Build
Red Katipo Arachnos Soldier:lvl 50+++ - Crab Build / Bane Build
Black Katipo Arachnos Widowlvl 50+++ - Fortunata Build / Night Widow Build

It is, but there aren't any cheaper ways I'm aware of to get complete immunity to recharge slows. As Javelin's Volley doesn't cost that much, its not inconceivable to slot them in an alternate build for content that specifically contains ludicrous amounts of -recharge, and I'm thinking specifically of Tin Mage.
|
Edit: Well, I guess I should have looked at the build 1st. 4 Sets of PVP IOs, true, but all 4 sets are the quite cheap Javelin's Volley. This will work, and by PVP IO build standards, is going to be quite inexpensive. Not sure I'd want to take 3 powers from Leviathan Mastery just to achieve this, but it is impressive. Makes me wonder if any other epic has 3 powes (or even 2) that could slot Jav Volley
What makes SR/KM so good?

Then again, I suppose you could three slot weave for endurance, since you don't even need to slot it to hit the soft cap.

Lore, you could go with the Cimerorans - several of their T3s and one T2 have a surgeon. One of the T3s has a surgeon with attacks and another has a surgeon that only heals but is untouchable if that's more to your liking. Longbow, Clockwork, and Nemesis also have pets with heal powers, but I'm not sure about any of the other groups.

I'd do Cardiac for Alpha since SR likes to gobble end (3 toggles plus CJ plus Weave), though the +range and +res may not be useful (the +res would only apply to Tough and I'm not sure if it'd apply to the scaling +res from the SR auto powers). I'm finding that endurance issues on every character that's grabbed T3 Cardiac (+endredux/+range/+res) have all but disappeared.

I'm not sure I would want to be running weave in the early levels due to the endurance cost. I'd probably use combat jumping instead, even though I'd be a few tenths of a percent below the soft cap. If it bothered me enough, I would stick a steadfast into tough and still get away with not having to run more than the three SR toggles and CJ.

I made a sr/stj tank yesterday. I'm enjoying it so far. Only lvl 2. But fun so far.
So I just hit lvl 47 with my SR/SJ tanker, and I have to say that I have no idea how he will ever survive what I can do on my electric or shield or wp tanks.
*shaking head* He's just so damned squishy, it's frustrating as hell. Does not feel like a tank to me at all.
Here's his build, if ANYONE has any ideas/input/suggestions (that are affordable) to help save him from the "retired due to lack of survivability" pile, I would greatly appreciate it.
