Oh I understand the connect of the theft of comics to the Hero/Villain Culture. I just think handicapped people would rather be treated as everyone else and not be treated with special treatment! Or at least, that's what I'm told by the PC folks.

So, with that, I say "That sucks! No one should be robbed. Been robbed myself and I know it sucks. And I hope the thief gets caught."

OK, you get the crowbar, I'll get my jackhammer, and we'll start tearing up those ramps and the unsightly bars in those extra-wide toilet stalls...

A bit different than what I meant.

Tbh, I posted it here more because of the Superman connection than the disabled man being ripped off. I'd have been just as disgusted if it was anyone else, be it a non-disabled person, a child, an elderly pensioner, whatever. It's still disgusting.

I do think that someone would be so sick as to do this to someone who is so clearly vulnerable, but that's just as valid any other way.

As I said, I posted it here because of the Superman connection, trying to spread the word in the vain hopes that possibly one person on here might actually know something about it, perhaps even frequent a comic book store local to that and spread the word, hopefully even help catch the scumbag.

I agree, people get robbed everyday, but this is a more specific subject matter that is very relevant to these boards, in many ways, as evidenced by the numerous responses on here.

the guy has a mental disability, one's judgement isn't exactly on point compared to a regular person.

And not only that, but he recieved double what his collection was, and is passing along those donations to things like a children's hospital.

Glad to hear the scum was arrested. Now let's hope the prosecution doesn't drop the ball or make a plea bargain with him.

Glad he got his stuff back, plus a tour of Siegel/Schuster home sounds cool too.

One thing I'm hazy on due to not being as fluent about certain rules as I once was, but wouldn't the stolen items be seized as evidence for any impending trial and then returned after said trial?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad it's all been returned and then some I just don't want to see the thief walk out.

The guy was arrested for a different crime. I would imagine they could return the stuff if they don't intend to prosecute for the stealing-from-the-disabled-guy. Or maybe they cataloged it/took pictures/etc, there was sufficient evidence there to show that he had it, so that it could safely be returned to the owner.

Something like this has always been my worst fear, my Lego Collection is worth somewhere around 30,000.00 Dollars. If someone were too even try too steal it on me, they wouldn't be able too find the body.

Oppsy, I didn't read the entire thread! XD
