Not sure if this link works for you all:

But no, 01 did not replace Manning. He's sticking to his backup QB for the time Manning is out (at least that's what he told me Tuesday).

Bets are still open for the next two weeks, guys. Get in on the fun.
I didn't play FF last year.

The year before I was dead last.

Two years before that I won the whole thing.

Unsure about this year.

Then again, I'm one of those people who doesn't really "get" the draw of professional sports either. I'll go to games now and again and have a blast. But following teams? Watching it on TV? Checking the papers for game scores? NAHHHHH!

You do realize that's a pretty far stretch...right

I don't know, there's a decent-sized sports niche in hard-core gaming. Avalon Hill, the Advanced Squad Leader people, had a number of sports games, ranging from football/baseball/basketball to F1 and yacht racing. I spent a *lot* of time with Strat-O-Matic Football while I was in high school, right alongside D&D and SFB.

Checking the papers? The PAPERS!? What is this, 1990? Who checks scores and stats anywhere other than the internet any more?

Yes, I defeated Clockwork 01 and I still have 2 players that are playing tonight.

If so, that's cool. Shoot, you could end up making a lot of influence off of it. With those odds, I'm going to be putting some influence on the guy who's going to be taking Alpha Wolf's money.

Philadelphia Stars (Skippy Sidekick) 99
Fremont Traffic Jam (Zwillinger) 84

Yup, I lost Week 1 with the SECOND highest score of the week. The only team that could have beaten me was... the one I played against. I was all prepared to blame my loss on Nate Keading's Out For The Season 0 point performance on Sunday, but I don't think he would have scored me 25 points.

Lots of scores in the 80's (or less), so my performance in week one bodes well for the rest of the season.

I'll stick by my initial prediction and back Giant Monster to the tune of 100m Inf. I'll send it to your main, which I'm assuming is @Dechs Kaison (please correct me if I'm wrong). It'll be later tonight before I can send it though, and that's assuming nothing funny with the global mail immediately following the huge publish today. I have until the 22nd, though, I think.

My condolences to Clockwork 01 on Peyton. It's a sad week for Tennessee alumni and alumnae; Peyton is out for the season, Arian Foster is questionable on his hamstring (but hopefully he'll be back), and Eric Berry's ACL has him out for the season.

Yeah, I had Nate Kaeding on one of my Fantasy leagues too...not only was he out...but in the same league, one of my WRs got injured too

Thanks very much for the update. I feel like I have to mention that this follows my predictions perfectly, but it is only the first week. My predictions were also only based on the draft picks, and there's a lot more at play here than that.

Yeah, I'd call that a bad beat. Nothing like sitting pretty on a full house and getting beat by a straight flush.

So does the one billion influence that's been bet on you. Some people have more faith in your team than I do.

Unfortunately, with that much influence on your team, I have to put my hopes against you. I'll pay it out for certain, but I won't like it one bit.

... I think I'll also adjust your odds for future bets. Just to be safe.

That is the correct global to send it to. You're 100m in a pool that's over 2 billion by now, believe it or not. Since I'll be receiving the influence after I've changed the odds, I'll write you down as having the higher payout.

Good luck to you, and everyone else that's playing.

Thanks! That's much appreciated. I didn't feel it was appropriate for me to put Inf on someone else, since I had already spoken up about Giant and Skippy both looking good (and Skippy prob has quite a few backers by this point, too, so Giant needs some love).

Nice pick on Plaxico, Posi. I didn't expect he'd look that good, but he really shined. Skippy took two perennial underachievers with Romo and Bush, but he's still freaking loaded for bear with Gates, Stafford, Peterson, the two Johnsons and Hines Ward. Speaking of Reggie Bush, did anyone else catch that comment during the broadcast that the Dolphins now have no fullback at all on their roster? They let their only FB go last week! How could anyone think that was a good idea with Bush as the feature back? I think Henne finished with more rushing yards than Bush did. I'm beginning to think that Friend of the Studio is going to do much better than anyone expects, too. FotS's RBs look a bit anemic once past McFadden, but Rodgers and Schaub will be a spectacular combo, the WRs are stacked deep, Vinatieri will be one of the best kickers for points and the Patriots defense started looking much better when Manning went on injured reserve.

This is going to be fun!

Same thing happened to me, the only team with a higher score was the one I played against, 142-136...freaking Tom Brady putting up 53pts. If McFadden had scored on his long run, I probably would have squeaked it out.

Two upsets here, according to my guesswork. Maybe the odds I'm offering on Clockwork and Giant Monster are too good. Or maybe they just got lucky.

Regardless, things are going well for me, as the majority of bets so far are on Positron and Friend of the Studio.

I lost badly this (past) week in 2 out of 3 FFB leagues I'm in. 1 was really bad score; the other I missed by like 4 points

Darn Vick getting injured, plus other people that just didn't show up like I expected them to (ie. Antonio Gates).

That's okay, with SD playing KC this week...hopefully I'll have some beautiful stats with Phillip Rivers at QB
