It's been a slow build. Been getting a slow but steady stream of guesses. A lot of people are pulling for Protean to be the villain. Though my favorite guess is Colonel Mustard - just so great that someone actually put the inf up for it.

I'm pretty sure that it'll have to be an NPC that delivers the killing blow, otherwise it'll make it hard for future content that refers to the murder if it's done by a player - unless they can find a way to set up the killing to avoid the identity of the killer being known to the rest of the Phalanx, Longbow, the general public and so on.
Although with the new approach to red side content, I'm also pretty sure that the murder will be done in such a way that whoever the actual NPC murderer is, it'll done in such a way as to have been impossible without the actions of the player - like it won't just be the player tagging along with the NPC to carry out the killing - it'll be the NPC needong the help of the player to carry out the killing.

I can never resist the obvious jokes...

Although I think the Fusionette guess tops that.

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

If a main character does die will it cause them to remove that character's tf? It makes sense to only do so.

I am thinking this is the line of thinking. Let's kill off the guys with a really bad tf. I think it'll be Synapse cuz that tf is the suck. Replace it with another main character/TF.

Matt said that the victim's existing content would be "dealt with" without specifying exactly what that meant.

Hmm... given that Sister Psyche and BABs appear in the new tutorial, I'd say it's pretty unlikely it's one of them.

Well, when you look at it from the point of view that higher levels means later in the timeline then they're still fair game being at the very beginning.

My guess is the villainside Signature story arc will have the player kill off Manticore.

I thought about that, but it seems to me that they wouldn't go to the trouble of putting them in the tutorial only to kill one later... and I think it would be kinda awkward to start a new character, go to the tutorial, and "oh hey, aren't you dead?" Sure you can say it's "earlier," but there's enough discussion about the "real" timeline that I'd bet the developers just decided to avoid the whole thing.

Unless it is BABs, and they want him in the tutorial for perpetuity, for sentimental value... I think I'd better get a new entry in...

Guesses are on hold (very) temporarily so I can check the new arc for any information. Depending on what is revealed, the entry fee may be increased from here forward.

They're trying to be true to superhero comic book lore, right?

That means "The Coming Storm" will be an epic reboot of the universe.

That means, all of the signature heroes and villains are going to die.

But it's a comic book death. After this "infinite crisis", everything will be reset and all the changes made to the game's storyline since the game went online will be wiped out so they can start over again.

Great Scott, this is heavy.

Played the heroic version of the arc and made a slight change to the entry fees. There is some very minor clues. Entry fees will likely go up every time a new arc is introduced.

Your first entry from here on in is 5 million inf. Each additional entry is 15 million inf.

If you have already made a guess at the reduced entry fees, you do not get to make a new first guess.

So... your guess is no one will die, killed by the developers?

Or is that everyone dies, killed by the Coming Storm, but not really since they live again?

I bet chu that this is why everyone is going hero: Because they dun't want any of those listed heroes to die at all!!! T~~~~T

Even though I can't vote at all (Lack of inf Funds), I would vote Statesman by his Heroic Self-Sacrifice. It would be interesting to see what the other heroes [and the Player controlled heroes] would do without their famed American Leader >:3~!!

My Guess:
Positron, by Anti Matter.

Why? Simple, most of the old garde are rednames as well. So they either kill of one who isn't or one who is ready to accept new challanges elsewhere. If Positron would leave the studio, that would make a big impact, this seems to me a grand farewell party.

When I am right, I wish him to have a nice careermove. If i am wrong that will mean that he is not leaving us at all. Win-Win!


If I did not have this theory I would say Statesman, by me. Or better said by all of us incarnates because he loses the favour of the well thanks to our actions. Bubba you sure we cannot have two entries?

I think the confusion may be the fact that you don't get a second "first" guess at the new reduced first guess entry fee. That's for completely new entrants only.

Other than that, you get as many entries at the new 15 mil buy in as you want.

And I'd also like to make a couple reminders based on posts here just in case.

1. You can only enter through in-game e-mail with the included inf entry fees.

2. You can enter as many times as you want as long as you pay the correct entry fee. For example if you make your first three guesses right now, the total fee would be 35 million inf. 5 for the first guess, and 15 each for the next two.

3. The list on the first post are the only official entries to the contest along with the date of when I last updated the list. If you don't see your guess, contact me. Also, you can make any brand new guess, or you can copy someone else's guess.

By the way, in the Intrepid Informer today, Dr. Aeon mentioned that "one of the Freedom Phalanx" would die - so unless that's a mistake, then that means that it can't be BAB.

I believe there's two camps even within the devs - those that believe that BaBs is not a member of the FP and have done some updating to try and show this in-game (Positron), and those that believe that BaBs is more or less an unofficial member of the FP and lump him in with the others just because (possibly Aeon?)
