MFing Peacebringer Guide?

I found one a while back and now my Search-Fu has ceased working. There was a guide that was put together that covered the various build possibilities of Peacebringers and I was wondering whose it was and where I might be able to find it. Sorry for such a silly request, but I do appreciate any and all help.

Hmm, time shadow has a newish pb guide and I think Memphis Bill has one too. You might want to just wait till the pb changes in I21 hit, as that will most certainly be followed by some updated guides.

It's hard to be a MFing Peacebringer when your powers are designed to be self-defeating rather than self-reinforcing.

It's the end. But the moment has been prepared for ...

Thank you all.

Was trying to find a guide for a returning friend who has a L34, I think, Tri-form, but who had been gone for about 3 years and doesn't know where, or how, to properly slot anymore. I did mention the i21 changes, so we may hold off for that little wait.

Thank you all again.

Good thing they're not, then.

Seriously, what was the point of posting that? Don't like them, don't play them. If all you can do is complain about them, don't play them. I can't stand Illusion control, I don't go into the Controller forums and whine every single time Illusion is mentioned.

Also, if interested, Kheldian backstory, should you be interested in lore.

Hope they help.

Bill's guide is good and a great resource. Some of the info is going to become dated when i21 hits but I am sure he will have an update out fairly quickly once everything from the VIP beta is final

While builds are definitely outdated, the descriptions of powers break down is still spot on. It might be from I8, but its the best out there. Much of which is described there is still apt now.

I started writing one out for a Human Form PB using Timeshadow's and Dechs' guides as references but I just have never had the time to do much. Plus I am still tweaking my own toon with the Incarnate powers.

Wow, Red, didn't expect something like that from you.

Does someone have a case of the Mondays?

The MFing Peacebringer
A guide to being MFing.

Step One: Go to character creation screen, select hero, select Peacebringer.
Step Two: Think about what you're doing for a minute.
Step Three: Hit "back" button.
Step Four: Select Warshade.
Step Five: See: "The MFing Warshade."

Ouch. That's a bit harsh.

PB's have a place... While all you radical "psycho" Shades are out there doing crazy
things (and sometimes paying the ultimate price for them) us Peacebringers
are steadily and consistently carrying the mail...

Sure, we don't generally make the Headlines, but that's part of the point.

Might I remind you, that *we* didn't invent any insane, life-sucking, stealing powers.

We are the steadying influence that has helped you former Nictus' (Nictii?)
become helpful and relevant members of society.

We're largely unsung, but we get the job done consistently and effectively,
without all the crowing and back-slapping...

Cheers,
4

PS> Just in case there's any uncertainly, that is a jesting, tongue-in-cheek,
RP style of rebuke... (no *personal* slights intended)

Seriously. That kind of crap isn't needed. Knock it off. We get it, you and your spreadsheet don't like PBs. Fine. Don't play them and leave it at that.

Haha, I was just making a joke. I really like my Peacebringer too.

Well, after all the doom and gloom here and in closed/open beta about "oh my god, PBs are so underpowered, why did I ever make one when my warshade is purple and makes waffles too, I'm deleting my PB after 6 levels, whine, whine, whine" I can't say I find the "joke" all that amusing.

I don't think I've ever seen a forum that seems so dedicated to getting people NOT to play an AT. Even the Stalker forum is more positive. Which should say something.

Well let me go on the record here and say that my Peacebringer is my second favorite and second most played after my Warshade.

.
Oh it seems I am not alone but my PB is already level 8 (after 5 years) and she is still not deleted :P

Returning to topic: Well people already said what I was going to say and wait until i21 since there maybe major changes in PB builds its safe to see what it will become before looking something now and than changing it after one or two months.

Maybe one day they will allow us to color tint the Kheldian powers. Then I could just make a WS look like a PB.

H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster
CoH in WQHD

lol i always thought that this forum was the only one that hated it self lol.. most of our neg press seems to come from people who play the AT the most...

On that note.. yeah ws is fun and all.. but i love my consistency with my pb.. and its also play style.. i play my pb as a blapper.. so single target raper.. im ya guy..

try playing a shade solo against a eb.. not so fun.. pb solo against a eb = possibility your going to finish the mission solo..

also as much as i tried.. i cannot get a ws to work in pvp.. and beleive me made tons of builds for it.. not so good.. too many variables and not enough time to go through them just to be killed..

A pb on the other hand can be made into an effective pvp killer.. As much hp as a scrapper. As much resistance as a scrapper. (Even more when light form changes comes out). With range.. The dmg is so so, but thats boosted with io's, aasualt, reds, and procs procs procs (Everybody)!!!

So yeah you shades can go eat some grapes..

I've only seen one person really try a PVP Warshade (AlienOne, I think.) And that was pre-I13. Met up with him vs my Mastermind ... which, really, should have been a bad idea. Beat him a fair bit of the time (we weren't really doing more than trying to help him get a handle on dealing with masterminds, actually, and screwing around for the heck of it.) When he finally got the range/rhythm of "separate me far enough from my pets and go to town before they get to him," it would work... but he'd be hurting with the mires.

Other than that, yeah, I've had far more luck (PVP-side) with my Peacebringers for much the same reason - everything's self contained. Given the post-I13 "suppress when you so much as look at something funny" (and the suppression effect on Teleport - IE, bye bye travel power,) plus the gutting of controls... yeah, if there were any actual opponents to be found, my 'shades would likely not go into the zones much at all.

I'll further corroborate the PB in PvP > WS in PvP.

Being an evil sort I tend to PvP with a nicely IO'd stalker, and as a stalker,
I get free front-row seats to any zone battles I care to study.

I've yet to see a capable PvP Warshade.

I can name several very capable PvP PB's.

The difference is clear - PB's have all the basic tools within their own AT to
compete.

Warshades, on the other hand, are just free rep...

Yeah, EB's aren't so fun.

This is how we used to have to take down AVs.

I really don't consider this that great of an accomplishment.

But if you take the time to read through the recent post and discussion I had with Auroxis and Microcosm you can see why I decided to do this.

Haha, I was going to point in the direction of that thread too but I figured it wasn't worth it.
