I think the better question is: Why is Positron so interested in BAB's wiki page?

WHO WILL DIE?

I read the Comic Vine site almost every day.

So now we have a conundrum! Do we take Positron's word over all the mounting evidence to the contrary?

THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN AND ZOMBIES AND ROBOTS AND ALIENS, IS THE QUESTION PUT FORTH BEFORE US THIS VERY DAY!!!

Yeah! How come you didn't post in my thread if you knew this all along, Posi? Everyone thought I was crazy!

Interesting thought. What are the differences between the two forms of dyne?
OD on the paragon stuff and you tend to turn green and grow tusks and horns. Praetoria's stuff turns you red/orange.

Fixadine also fixes our version, iirc.

Yeah but what if you take both at the same time? Because I'm thinking you'll either look like:

A) A striped, holiday-themed troll.
B) A big, mean poopturd.

Edit: Okay, for anyone scratching their head, green and orange/red would make something approximating brown or black. :P

That would explain I suppose why the "Defeat Statesman and the Freedom Phalanx" final mission of the LRSF includes BABs.

Does this mean that we don't actually need to defeat BAB in this mission?

If not, the text is confusing and should be amended to say,

"Defeat the Freedom Phalanx and Back Alley Brawler"

I wouldn't ask him that.

You wouldn't like him when he's angry.

I don't think the Comicvine bio really counts. It's effectively just another wiki page and prone to the same misconceptions.

The strike forces where BaB is treated as a Phalanx member are suspicious, but then again, it may just be that nobody in the villain or Mender communities actually cares about accuracy as much as they care about beatdowns.

I know that if Tess told me "The Brawler is in the Phalanx! You got a problem with that?" that I'd just shake my head and say "No, Ma'am!"

On a more serious note, I hope that if nothing else comes out of this, it's that mission writers get doublechecked in the future about the lore in their missions.

You fight Back Alley Brawler in the Lord Recluse Strike Force. Isn't he explicitly labeled Freedom Phalanx when you target him?

For that matter, when did Numina become a member of the Phalanx? She was one of the Midnight Squad up to (and since) her death.

Citadel I can understand because Positron practically rebuilt him from scratch... but she's (technically) one of the 'Surviving Eight' (not that you can really call her current state 'survival')...

Still checking game lore for BAB's inclusion in the FP... though Zombie Man beat me to the links.

EDIT: OH DUH... just had an idea of where to look, and if I'm right, it's an officially sanctioned inclusion.

Okay *seriousface*, I think for my own sense of lore/cohesion I'm just going to go with Positron's explanation, "Even Arachnos is confused!" BAB has a heart of gold, and in a city like Paragon, the guy can't seem to stick to the "retirement" side of his semi-retired status for very long at a time. With the Regulators probably no longer active, he tends to team up with the Freedom Phalanx a lot because he knows he can trust them, and vice versa. If something ever happened to Manticore, I'm sure BAB would end up replacing him. Even if the Regulators ARE still doing some work, they were never about the biggest, most high-profile super-powered threats. For BAB to tackle that stuff, he probably calls his pals in the Dawn Patrol, Midnight Squad, or Phalanx. The guy has been around and he's worked with all those groups.

FWIW, I just completed the arc through Ouro and did indeed get his mask as a souvenir.

No alternate costume when I fought him. Do I have his shades and just call it a mask? Maybe he wears one of those little domino masks under the big shades?

Or, you know, they could just....remove that poser from the TF. Tell him to go home and bust a druggie or something.

There's at least four specific in-game references to BAB as a Phalanxer and many occasions where he's with them.

Ever since CoV, BAB has been written in as a Phalanxer.

Not to mention that his Praetorian counterpart is a Praetor.

BaB clearly has a past with Manticore and I'd be surprised if he didn't have some past with Statesman. I'm sure that informally they treat him as if he's an honorary member regardless of his official status.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have an OFFICIAL in-game inclusion of Brawler in the Phalanx.

Posting the screenshots now...

Sanctioned by none other than Dr. Aeon himself (both the dev AND the scientist)... here we have AE proof. http://twitpic.com/63mve4

In other words, take it up with Sean and have him fix it, or else BAB is an official FP member! http://twitpic.com/63mvnw

Hmm... Ouroboros finally having some measurable effect? Yeah, that's the ticket...

At least a Dev could use it to write his way out of the bind. heh
