Reboot of Thundercats tonight on ...
Incidentally, I found it a bit strange that Kit and Kat were the only Cats to have tails (that I noticed).

Combine this with the anti-lizard racism, and Thundera is not a very nice society.
Anyway, saw tonight's episode even though i missed the premiere. Wasn't bad at all. i like the way the characters are developing and the fact that the writing doesn't require characters to be constantly handing off the idiot ball to each other.
Dr. Todt's theme.
i make stuff...
Actually, according to the creators, the Cats have two castes. The elite (Lion-O, the clerics, etc.) are tailless, while those with tails (the Thunderkittens) are confined to lives of poverty in Thundera's slums with the dogs.

(The villain designs from the original show, on the other hand, always impressed me.)

Back on Subject:
Ep. 3 Ramlak Rising was a mixed bag, it sort of played out like an Old Filmation He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Episode, with a mix of Herman Melville thrown in.
Kit and Kat were great in the episode and they finally have their updated "Old School" outfits on.
Tygra sports a new look in the episode as well.
poor Jaga has been was forced to reveal where the Book might be located
As an episode overall it was ok. Animation was great, but story was so-so in my opinion.
Yeah, while I enjoyed the episode, it was pretty much Moby Dick (with a 20,000 leagues under the sea inspired monster) in the Thundercats world. And it was a bit heavy handed in how we (and therefore Lion-O) are shown the parallels of his anger and desire for revenge and that of the Captain's. In fact, it was a bit too convenient how the group's first 'adventure' on their journey shows our young protagonist a likely future if he continues to follow his course of action and ignores the advice of those who have a bit more level heads and more experience.
I like how the three older Cats have more armored outfits. I was a bit puzzled, however, as to why Tygra only used the handgun this episode and not his whip (how many shots does that thing have?) I also like how the new character designs emphasize the cat features. I like the evident fur and fangs, not just funny markings and claws of the original. I like how we heard growls and ‘cat-like’ sounds coming from the Cats. It puts a bit more believability show.
Overall, I am eager to see how this goes. I know that this is supposed to be a journey of discovery and maturation for Lion-O, but I hope that not all of the things he learns are as obvious or handled so heavy handed as this episode was.
I'm still hoping that they introduce Pumyra at some point in the show. See my biggest thing right now, is that Cheetarah, being a Cleric, it's almost her duty to hook up with Lion-O. Adding Pumyra would actually give Cheetarah a choice as to whether she wants to or not. Especially if Pumyra is interested in Lion-O and closer to his age.
For some reason, I picture Cree Summer as the voice of Pumyra in the new series.
Then I just now realized it would essentially be a reunion of Terry and Max from Batman Beyond. Thus, it must be made so!
Not sure who would voice Bengali, though...

Ok two pretty good episodes down...i do have one observation/question...if i remember correcty in the original(ill have to watch some of my dvd's for conformation)when Lion-o did the old "Thunder...Thunder...Thunder Cats Hoooo" among several things the cats recieved a "power up" with the whole eyes glowing effects and they became faster/stronger for a brief time or am i remembering incorrectly? Now i saw Lion-o do this once in the new series and either i missed the "power up" or it wasnt a big deal
