So, those coming Pool Power changes...

I'd really like some clarification if it's out there.

I've read where the Travel Pools are getting a 5th power, and that the 3rd Power (The travel power) will be available at lvl 4 without having to prior pick powers 1 or 2. This is an awesome and welcome change - one I've suggested before on threads here and there.

I've also heard (but this is more hazy and what I'd really like good confirmation on) is that all the Power Pools will be getting the "Pick Power 3 at lvl 4 while ignoring the first 2" treatment. Is this true as well? If so, does it apply to Epic Pools?

Man, I'm hoping! Can't wait to say goodbye to Boxing

Still need to pick 2 powers in the pool before can pick 4th and am assuming 5th tiers in the pool.

This sounds too good to be true

That's fine, but what about the 3rd power, per my OP?

From what I have read, posted by someone at comic con was that yes, indeed, you will be able to grab third tier pool powers without a prerequisite. Stay golden.

So, my blasters can now pick a fear power without having to ludicrously take a taunt power? Awesome!

There is a lot of people that are going to grab Tough now.

Expect a freespec with Issue 21 - there are soooo many changes that they have announced already that I can't imagine them not granting one.

T4 (and T5, for the Travel Pools that have it) Power Pool options will still require 2 previous powers from the set, but I think they may all unlock before level 20 now.

Afterburner, the only one I really played with while at Comic Con, required level 14 and 2 previous Flight selections. Now I just need to figure out what can be dropped for Afterburner, so I can add +20ish Max Fly Speed to my Scrapper... :3

Are you sure that referred to non-travel pools? Travel pools have in the past been treated differently, and particularly when they made the "City Traveler" vet reward that let you pick a travel power without a prerequisite, a LOT of players assumed that meant non-travel pools too. There were a number of posts on the forums about it.

So I am a bit concerned the same eagerness might be leading to the same confusion in this case, until I see absolutely specific confirmation.

Unless there was a bug in the Comic Con build (which is entirely feasible--they may have broken something trying to show off level 4 travel power access), Tough was definitely available at level 4 with no prerequisites. Weave still required 2 prereqs.

You will have to run through the Comic Con Reveals thread, but one of the guys at the con grabbed aid self early, and asked someone there if that was working as intended. He was told yes.

So if you want Weave you are still picking Kick, or Boxing.

Being able to take tough at level 4 is going to be a great way for res based melee characters like invul to shine even more in the early game.

Or defense-based sets like SR to not get the crap kicked out of them by absolutely everything prior to getting Elude or good IO sets.

Ugh, well there goes my plans...

Oh well

When I first read about this in another thread, I got crazy happy until I realized that I didn't care. The first impression I got was that I could have Weave without wasting a power choice on Boxing, Vengeance without wasting a power choice on Tactics or Assault, Aid Self for my blasters without having to waste a power choice on aid other, etc...

The new tier for the travel powers do seem cool though, namely the instant recharge from the speed pool. I really hope they decide to give Warshades and Peacebringers access to zone teleport and super fly.

Sure, if you're able to run toggles... My tri form Warshade isn't, because they drop every time he changes forms. Vengeance is still viable (and used quite often) though.

Uhm, I refer you to the armor sets w/ the tier 9 REZ power... I'd say Veng is made for fire armor, etc...

Nope, my favorite character of all 7+ years is my fire/fire scrapper, noted in my sig. I destroy most enemies so fast that at least on two occasions I have been sent to the ads team on BAF trials simply because whatever team I am on during the last phase crushes the other. If I switched teams, I would overtake the old one I was on within seconds.

I am not bragging - my wife and I got a big kick out of it as she plays with me. Granted, he is purpled out at level 53 with all Incarnate slots at tier 4, so he is pretty ridiculous. I just hit the influence cap last week also at $2 billion on him, so you made that comment to the wrong guy haha.

That's a pretty unrealistic goal when you're playing a Warshade. If you're doing it right, be sure to bring wakies for your teammates. You'll start to feel bad after a while.

If it's taking you so long to kill things that your teammates are getting killed.....well, I don't think that counts as doing it right.
