Confirmed for proliferation in next issue, with changes. Comments from Synapse:

This set has been requested for proliferation for a great while and we thought now would be a great time to release it. This set is very much like the Mastermind version, however Noxious Gas (a pet targeted AoE debuff power) was replaced by Venomous Gas. This new power is a PBAoE toggle that significantly weakens enemies in close proximity to the user.
So it looks like we have a new PBAoE toggle to pair with Fire, Ice, and Electric Control.

Are you excited? Rerolling any pre-existing characters?

Rock!
It's funny, I've been looking at poison combos the last few days, wondering if they were ever going to proliferate it. Naturally I'm interested in Mind/Poison-- clickiest build since mind/kin, eh? Heck of a lot of single-target clicks. Might even reroll my original main (mind/emp) as a mind/poison. I played 30 levels of thugs/poison, though I'm not sure I explored the outermost limits of the set. Isn't it pretty good with soloing elite bosses, etc? I wonder how that positions Mind/Poison exactly.

Seems like it might be effective with Fire too, and certainly appealing conceptually with plant/. Or even earth/.

If this PBAOE toggle is on par with the existing power you put on your henchmen, then this could be quite powerful indeed. I've always thought my 2 /Poison MMs lived in 2 distinctly different states 1) Megadebuffer supreme when Noxious Gas was up or 2) Lamest, by far buff/debuff set in game when NG was not up. Unfortunately, the latter state was far more frequently the case. Even when NG was up you had to micromanage that one pet or be susceptible to his whims as to whom he wanted to engage and debuff.

Sure looks like potentially great news for Fire and Ice, with their pbaoe toggles.

I thought I was done with Poison, but depending on what they do with NG, I just may go back.

There are apparantly some other buffs to the Poison set. Something about portions of the existing single target powers having half-strength AoEs.

And the /Poison version of Poison Trap using a Hold instead of a Sleep.

They did say they intended to proliferate pretty much everything eventually.

Glad they add some AoE component in Weaken and Envenom, or else it's going to be such a poor-child set in comparison to Radiation and Cold Domination.

They say the set is going to be "similar" to MM's version. Does this mean the debuff values stay the same? If so, the set is still going to be sub-par.

If it's 25% better than MM's version, then yeah, it can be good.

Venomous Gas is what I am looking for.

What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.

Unlikely, since the ATs have different modifiers.

Fire/poison troller will be sick I think, and illusion/poison? crazy...

I have no experience with Poison but I think Mind/Poison is going to emerge as a fairly popular combo. From what I can see nothing in Poison causes damage. The new Poison has two AoE holds to help deal with Containment issues. If the cast time of Poison Trap is still 5 seconds, you could sleep the group, run in and place the trap without any interference at all.

Poison also looks to be the only set that will have both AoE -Resistance and -Defense in a power that doesn't also hinder the mobs. The reason this is useful is for maximizing Confusion damage. I believe (but am not 100% sure) enemies have a base 50% chance to hit each other. A few sets do have these capabilities but they come alongside stuff that limits the damage output (e.g. knockdown and slow in Sleet, -Damage in Radiation, etc)

Trick Arrow has that too; Acid Arrow + Disruption Arrow.

Well, 8ft radius on the -Defense. I guess we have to wait to see the radius and values of the revised Poison.

I do consider /Trick Arrow an excellent secondary for Mind Control in any case.

Thematic too, good for a "mystic archer" type.

Ive only played a couple lvls of poison on a mastermind, so i really dont know the set at all...

But theme reasons...

Its a toss up.. Fire/posion, or earth/poison

I was really thinking about making a fire/rad, But now this poison might over take it. I Only have about 10 slots left to unlock, But i have a couple that im not totally in love with and are real lowbies, so they could get the axe..

The only drawback to mind/ta is the damage on acid arrow - its annoying because its so minor that its not worth mentioning, but it breaks sleeps/fears. Poison shouldn't even have that minor drawback.

Yeah, I have always harbored a strong, unnatural love for the Poison set, and yet I loathe the way it interacts with Mastermind pets. Long have I dreamed for it to come to controllers, though I can't explain why.

Fire/Poison, Illusion/Poison, and Earth/Poison ... I choose YOU!

I will prob skip Plant/Poison due to it being "too obvious" but it will certainly be cool to confuse a bunch of dudes and/or knock them down with big slappy vines, followed by puking all over them, then standing on top of them emitting debilitating toxins from your body, all followed up by a FIREBALL!

Well, dang. Plant/Poison ... I choose you TOO!

I'm sure the other combos with Poison will each be interesting in their own way but I don't think I'll consider them.

I'm also feeling elec/poison. Keep wanting to make an elec/ troller, too. Hopefully they won't nerf the numbers of the revamped noxious gas (venomous gas).

Yep. Any melee based control set is going to pair rather well with it.
