Poison
I think they should make it a Splash Hold as well. Even with McCrazypants Recharge I was only able to get Noxious Gas down to roughly 95 seconds.
This is true. I haven't played my 50 Merc/Poison in years. I can't remember what the duration is. Mids doesn't show duration but the recharge is 300s. I think the duration is only 45s? If that's the case, then you can't really perma Venom Gas.
We don't know if it's going to be the exact same debuff except you cast it on yourself. If the duration is longer or recharge is shorter on Corr/Troller and the Gas can be made perma or almost perma, then /Poison can be a VERY deadly set. |

Yes I think the non masterminds will have the top power in the form of a pbaoe ... Making fire/poison, ice/poison and elec/poison particularly interesting.

I'm going for DP/Poison...I wish Corrs had the blasters version of rad.
If I understand the initial Powerset Proliferation article correctly, wasn't Venomous Gas going to be a toggle, as in always on unless you run out of end?

If corr/troller gets a toggle version, then it can be extremely deadly.
What's left is to normalize all Assassin Strikes and improve Stalker's old sets (Claw, MA and EM)! You don't need to bring back the missing PbAoE attack. You just need to make the existing ones better! For example, make Slice a WIDER and LONGER cone.
I'm looking forward to it...I've always had weird issues with Rad and this would be a nice alternative.
Did I mention that I always liked Poison? If not I just did lol. I love Poison! <3
My only worry about Poison coming to Controllers is Alkaloid.
Look at every single starting skill that Controllers get in their Secondary. Each can be used at the low levels, especially in solo play. How useful they are is another matter entirely (Gale gets a bad rap, at least, though I've liked it).
Alkaloid, which requires one to target another player, cannot be really useful in solo play at the low levels. It's a good skill, I'll admit; the O2 boost of Poison, basically.
I'm really hoping, like they rearranged the Mastermind Force Field set, they'll rearrange Poison. Maybe put Envenom first, and Alkaloid second? I just worry that Poison for Controllers will be ruined by a bum starting power.
The game ends at 50. Smilegasm
Do not ever give Mind Control a pet. We need more control sets without pets.
My characters are not "toons". They are all project characters, though.

Poison needs to hurry up because I'm torn between a plant/psi dom and a plant/poison troller, and if it doesnt drop within the next two weeks the dom will win out. I need something to take benefit of double xp weekend. Honestly I'm all in favor of them dropping i21 on double xp weekend, :-). With */poison though I dunno, I just loathe being held and Venmous gas looks like you'll be detoggled constantly in high end content. If your rolling elec or fire with it good luck, you cant mez EVERYTHING. I guess thats why breakfrees exist, but malta and longbow on a squishy has always been a pain.
Has anyone got into beta today? What is Venom Gas like?

If I dont get poison soon....I riot.
I got a screenshot of the Corruptor version, but due to a bug wasn't able to look at the values on a Controller.
I'm running out of endurance just reading that 1.3 end/second cost.
And no, those don't scale with level. I wouldn't say those numbers are weak, they're less than MM (and I would hope so given how the MM version works) but when added to the other debuffs, is quite potent.
Not sold on making one though, after 2 /poison MMs...

Poison/Venomous Gas: Fixed a bug that caused this power to cost much more endurance that was intended, it now correctly costs .52 endurance per second. Also increased this power's to hit debuff from scale .5 to 1.

The Lockdown Proc still isn't firing .
I'm thinking about using Poison for my I21 Controller, but I'm not sold on it. I know from playing a Poison MM that it's a fairly active set. I'm planning on having Stone as my primary, but I'm afraid the two of them together will be a situation of having too much to do with not enough time.

Well, I'd be more inclined to switch the secondary than the primary. The stone set is a core component of the character's concept. But I think I could fudge it a bit to make Force Field work for my secondary. Nice, passive force fields. >.>
I'm very eager to make a /poison controller.
But now I'm comparing it to Rad. Is there a particular strength that poison has over Rad?
It seems that rad debuffs better, buffs better, similar rez, and controls similarly.
Rad does have a weak AOE heal over poison's good ST heal. I do prefer a strong ST heal, other than that, is there any other advantage Poison might have over Rad?
Please justify my eagerness to play poison!!!

-Playing since COH beta and still love the game!
Some of Rad's best abilities involve enemy toggles. These can be very, very annoying to use, especially on large teams that tend to mow things down quickly. It's one of the reasons I never really enjoyed playing a Rad character. Poison has stronger ease of use because of this.
Awesome.
I don't know why but I want to try a fire/poison.

If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
