Without logging off my character entirely, how can I determine what server I am currently playing on? It doesn't seem to come up in any window I try.

I've got to admit, I do love playing the Blaster as a blapper.
but your ranged thread has made me consider trying something ranged. Looking at a Beam Weapon/Energy Manipulation right now... -
Dual Pistols/Ninjitsu Stalker.
Replace 'Swap Ammo' with an Assassin Strike sort of power called something like 'Kill Shot.' -
Power Boost says:
It increases the "the secondary effects of your powers."
As far as I can tell, the secondary effect of Beam Rifle is Disintegration... does Power Boost actually help Beam Rifle at all? -
No, you wouldn't. If FF was turned into a Disorient, you'd still have differences between the two sets:
On the ice control side:
Arctic Air
Shiver
Glacier
On the earth control side:
Quicksand
Salt Crystals
Volcanic Gasses
---
I'd consider those differences significant. -
I'd just like to see Flash Freeze turned into a disorient.

With a good player, all of my fourteen Archetypes can certainly go five minutes against her.
Did you really mean 'AT'? -
I'm definitely planning on using the dual build feature (which I've never used before) to say "yes" to both Fortunata and Widow.... Just twenty more levels!

Thank you!
Now, I do not recall purchasing any character slots in the past, but it is possible I did.
Is there a method to verify that? -
I'm going to be a VIP until September of this year. Unfortunately, it appears as though by that point I'll be on disability, and unemployed (yay cancer?) and so I want to start exploring my options for this game.
I am currently Tier 9.
I have 11 characters on one server, 9 on another, 11 on a third, and 10 on a fourth. (Plus 3 on Exalted).
So that's five servers and 44 characters.
This will probably go up in number until September arrives.
Now I know I'll be losing a few things if I drop:
* Incarnate/end game content (I am okay with losing this)
* Access to Exalted (I can server transfer)
* I'll have a few server transfers (good for me to get out of Exalted), but no more free ones...
* Reward Tokens (I'm Tier 9, I'm done with spending them)
* 550 Paragon Points a month (I'll miss these)
* other non-gameplay-related stuff? (forum posting, better customer service, server queueing, global chat stuff, etc)
My first question is:
What would I be losing that I haven't managed to cover up there?
(I know that because I'm already Tier 8/9, I'll get lots of stuff. I can play Controllers, Masterminds, Epic ATs... Also I got myself the Going Rogue box, so I should have access to Praetoria and Alignments and all that, right?)
I know Premium players are limited in terms of character slots per server, more limited than I am as a VIP.
My second question is:
Is there a way for me to determine how many character slots I'll have after I drop VIP?
I just want the ability to play my current characters (and whatever else I might make by then), and I know that might require purchasing additional character slots... I just want to know how many I'll need. -
Ice Control.
The front-loaded damage in the sleep (Flash Freeze) is entirely unhelpful.
And I'd make Glacier actually work near the ground as it's been promising, rather than needing to be on the ground as it's currently coded.
I'd also love to see more synergy between the immobilizes and Ice Slick. I'm not sure if the simple "remove KB protection from immobilizes" is the answer. But something needs be done
---
also Electricity
Whatever formula they seem to be using behind the scenes seems to vastly overrate electricity's secondary effect in PvE (I have no idea about PvP). Yes, it's great when the enemy is drained to zero.. but it's pointless when the enemy isn't.
And in standard play, enemies are rarely drained to zero.
So, I'd boost the damage for Electric Blast, and attacks in Electric Manipulation and Electricity Assault. I have no experience with Electric Melee but I suspect the same holds true. Electric Control wouldn't necessarily need any damage boost, I don't think, though maybe it would at least on the immobilizes?
I'd start perhaps at a 10% boost and see if that was enough.
Also speaking of Electric Control, I'd remove Gremlins and see if I could give them a non-pet control power, like Mind Control. Or at least a useful controlling-pet like Singularity.
---
finally, Psychic attacks.
Ice/cold already has -rch, so I'd remove that secondary effect.
I'd instead add +confuse.

Playing in Perez Park, I suddenly remembered my only Warshade:
Her name is Dolores Perez ("yes, of THOSE Perezes).
I made a decision that there's a powerful Perez family in Paragon City, much like the Rockefellers of New York. (Yes, I know the out-of-game reason why Perez Park is named Perez Park, but it's got to have an in-game reason too, right?)
Anyway, Dolores's sister (Hillary) is sort of like Paris Hilton. Dolores is more of a wallflower. Still, when a Warshade came to her and offered her its deal, she took it.
Mostly I really like the "of THOSE Perezes." -
Telekinesis is the only power I'd consider skippable on Mind Control.
(It and Levitation also bug me, conceptually. It always feels conceptually lazy to mix telepathy and telekinesis..) -

She started off as a joke, but has turned into a really good character...
Way back when, some rp friends and I decided to colonize a new server and try a particular storyline thing. The specifics of that don't really matter so much (although one of the assertions was that we were supposed to be descendants of former heroes...)
Anyway, I created Tawny... my first tanker.
One day, Tawny was out for a walk. And some thugs tried to take her purse! The nerve! So she cried out for help, but unfortunately all the heroes that passed her by were just tooo mighty and involved in whatever plots they were involved in.
So this thug kept on tugging and tugging, and she kept on tugging and tugging...
Then, finally, she snapped, and decided that if the heroes weren't going to help her, she'd have to do it herself. So she reared back and wailed on the guy. Bam!
Next thing you know she's taking self-defense courses, and registering as a hero. Even though it's negligible (or zero) XP, she still saves purse-snatchers.
She uses her real name (Tawny Mistell) because she wanted to leverage that into a brand. She's been working for Icon as a fashion designer.
(she's an Invuln/SS Tank. If WP had been available then.... but nope.) -

If I were a betting man, I'd lay money on Assault Rifle being the least used.
-
One thing to keep in mind:
Do you care about being airborne when you attack? If so, TW might not be the best choice.
If it's not really an issue, go hog wild. -
Since I've felt slow/rch belongs to ice/cold.
I'd hack all Psy attacks to have a secondary effect of confuse, instead of -rch.
Then I'd just have fun with my psy/mental blaster.
