Okay, that first pic is so totally Conan, it makes me wanna run out and uproot a tree with my bare hands.

Also, Ron Perlman makes everything more awesome.

While this is true, tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Ron Perlman does his best work in heavy makeup/prostethics.

But there just seems to me to be something wron with the look of Conan's hairy chest. It doesn't look right.
Perhaps it looks like the actor regularly shaves/waxes his chest and has let it grow out for the past three weeks.
Whatever, it just doesn't look 'natural'.

Ron Perlman's manlier than Conan.

Let it be known that he must now always wear a beard... And a bear, for that matter.

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.

I was going to give this new Conan a chance anyway, but I didn't realize Ron Perlman was going to be in it too. For me I've gotten to the point where I'll pretty much watch any movie Ron's in regardless of the role he plays.

I wasn't sure about Jason Momoa as Conan until I saw him in Game of Thrones. After the fight scene where he rips the guy's tongue out (and probably most of his trachea and esophagus with it) through the gaping hole in his throat, I turned to my girlfriend and said: "You know, I believe that man could play Conan."

These pics are not making me any less optimistic.

Even "Season of the Witch"...?

Hell, I watched the Mutant Chronicles because he was in it.

We're just used to Arnie and his smooth chested Conan. A hairy chest is natural, and manly. Hyborean men didn't shave their chests, man!

I am sorry, but as a fan of the Conan novels and comics.....Conan He Is Not.

He just does not have the look or build to be Conan.

Book was better, but the film wasn't bad.

Christian Slater was so young in that, though...

Can't agree with this. He is really good in Sons of Anarchy.

This movie really looks amazing. The trailer is, and has been, on Hulu for a while.

Conan...Ronon...I'm sensing a pattern here...

Also, that second pic makes it look like he has boob implants.

I don't really care about Conan that much, but this made me have to comment. What is it with you Conan fans and your need for the person to look exactly like your imagining (you are one of many I have seen posting on this)? Something based on the written word is never going to match your imagination's picture perfectly, so this stubborn refusal to roll with things just seems... nutty. It makes some rabid fans of comics and their movies look tame by comparison.

From the pictures I have seen made of Conan, Momoa doesn't look all that off from him, and certainly seems closer than Arnold ever did. And in the end, that doesn't matter all that much as long as they got the character and story right.

Very interesting...
I've not been following this at all, but I'm liking the looks of things...
Has a Frank Frazetta feel to it.

I'm cautiously interested in this one...
Especially seeing Ron Pearlman ("One"!), haha... I didn't know he was in it!

Also... I liked this image:

I never said that Ron Perlman makes every movie he's in perfect.
He's a great character actor, not a miracle worker.

I never bothered to see Season of the Witch, but my guess is that whatever role Ron played in it was entertaining by itself just because he's good at what he does. I might eventually watch that movie just for Ron's sake despite the rest of the movie being bad. It's the same reason I might eventualy stomach watching Red Riding Hood just because I'm a fan of Gary Oldman.

Blue eyes. 'Volcanic blue'. Not brown. Just sayin'.

I'm not being mean so don't take this personally, but I'll keep that quote in mind when you recommend anything in the future.

Guess it depends on what one considers amazing. It is a Conan movie, which means it will be amazingly violent. Much like any movie of this type, I am not looking for a deep plot that will keep me thinking for days afterward. I want to see fighting, and in that regard I am sure it will be amazing.

While the story and the character's personality and backstroy are very important, so is the image/look/feel of the character. When I look at the actor playing him he just doesnt have the feel or look that conan should have. He looks more like a B movie actor or one of those background characters with one or two lines etc.

He may well pull it off, but they could have aleast insisted that he bulk up for the part, dye his hair jet black and wear blue contacts...lol

And Arnie wasnt a very good conan, hell he cant act, but aleast he had the build for the part.
