Most scrapperific Kheld?

So, I asked a couple of days ago on the scrapper forum for advice on shich squishy to play. Ive been playing since just after release, and only played melee toons in that time. Since I've recently gotten my most recent project completed, I thought I'd start a new one. I was thinking maybe a blaster or kheld. I'm not quite sure which Kheld to choose though. Which one would you recommend for a diehard Melee player?

Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?

Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?

I would go with a pure human PB choosing jump kick from Leap as well.

Usually Dechs and I are opposite sides of the line when it comes to Khelds (I'm a PB and he's a Warshade ) but in this case I gotta go with his suggestion. A TriForm 'Shade focusing on Dwarf really feels like a more melee-centric AT.

Wanna play a Peacebringer? Don't believe the hype. Check out my guide and get the real truth:
PEACEBRINGERS SUCK!!! (Now fully up to date for i21+ )

Oh my goodness the world is coming to an end... Oh wait that already happened, carry on.

As a scrapper user predominantly with 5 50 scrappers.. imho the closest thing to a scrapper is a human form pb or human dwarf....

get eyes, blast, radiant strike, incandescent strike, and solar flare, also seekers..
jump pool for acro
hasten
assault tactics, vengeance if you can fit it.
tough

All shields all, all heals, qflight, and light form..

if you have to take out something you can take out gleaming blast..

and there you have a scrapper in pb form...

slot it how you slot any other toon.. there's nothing special about it.

Im assuming the original poster is playing pve in teams so he can slot with DO'S and still get a fun experience.

But if he wants a specific build made up then he can inbox me..

Was just putting my opinion in there..

I completely agree with dech on this one, I have a tri-form PB that's based on mele strength and Nova AoE for mop-ups. Only problem is that, even though he DOES have mele...the damage can be lacking when fighting higher-up levels & you'd need to heal ALOT to survive, unless you stay dwarf all the time.

With a Tri-form WS on a Perma-eclipse build, you'll have dwarf meles and gravity well plus all of this:
1. Permanently capped resistance via perma eclipse
2. DOUBLE MIRE! Unlike a PB you have a way to drastically increase your damage + tohit for 30s (human form) and 10s (dwarf form), this will maxmimze your mele strength, which is closer to a scrapper.
3. Pets that actually live longer than 2 seconds (unlike seekers, I use mine as an AoE safety Nuke)
4.A self heal from dead baddies

I would assume, not from experience, that this would be similar to a dark/dark scrapper, don't bank on that though.

MIGHT be? yeah sure, and the rapture happened on may 21st.

Dwarves have a very satisfying 'crunch' when they pound on someone. It takes some work to make them really dish the damage, however, as they were made to be more tanky then scrappy. But with a lot of slots and use of buffs in human form to supplement them, they will be respectable.

Does anyone have any DPS calculations or pylon test results for an attack chain as a Dwarf Form WS?

That's going to be difficult to obtain, especially if you want results that mean anything.

I mean, I could give you a calculation of my Warshade's DPS output if he were locked in Dwarf and assuming only one target for Mire buffs, but that's hardly ever a true situation. Even against an AV at the end of a TF I'm switching to human for Mire and Gravity Well, and usually sticking to Nova for DPS. The Dwarf is only used when the team actually needs someone to do the tanking and there's no other option.

To do a Pylon test is even harder. First, I'm not sure a Dwarf can put out the DPS to solo a pylon. Second, I'm not sure if Dwarf alone is enough to survive the pylon. Remember that warshades thrive in hordes of enemies that allow for saturated buffs and frequent health/endurance refills.

Well, I'm fine however you want to run it.

If it requires switching forms to maximize potential that's fine, but I'm not interested in the ranged DPS.

However what you are saying here contradicts what you said earlier, if the Dwarf Form is only used when the team needs tanking then its most certainly not "Scrapperific" in my opinion.

I'm fine with the idea of the WS pulling enemies to surround them around the pylon for specifically those purposes. I do that on my DM/SD Brute for soul drain. L52-54 bosses work well.

When I get home and have access to mids I'll do some quick calcs. I'm not sure how to account for switching forms and the time associated, so I'll just do two versions of dwarf: One while hasten is active and one while it's not.

Sorry for not being clear, I mean that I don't stay in dwarf form unless the team needs someone to tank the AV.

I frequently use dwarf to be all scrappy like, but I tend to do so briefly to get my mires up and then drop for an Unchain Essence.

What I said earlier was that if you indeed wanted a scrapper feeling kheldian, Dwarf Heavy Warshade is the way to accomplish that.

That's my other worry. Could my warshade handle all those extra enemies? I'm guessing so, but now we're talking something a great deal more stressful than I feel like testing. Meh, maybe.

Fixed.

But in all seriousness.

If you need to use weaker enemies, or even inspirations, I'm ok with that.

My main interest is in just what kind of melee damage potential there is available.

Did you really just suggest that I use inspirations? You did. I'm going to have to ignore that.

In all seriousness, I'll see what I can come up with for you.

I gave that a quick read.

I hoard T3 Inspirations myself.

I am in a continual cycle of purchase and usage, and keep bins in my base specifically for each of the main insps I regularly use.

However, I tend to know how much of each inspiration any one of my regularly played characters will require depending on the TF or Trial - and I use them freely when I know I need it (usually moments I wouldn't survive otherwise).

Its exceedingly rare that I use more than 1/3rd of them (except for my FA brute on lambda, I rearrange his tray to have enough lucks to solo the entire 2nd phase if necessary), and generally only happens on the worst of the worst PUG leagues I might end up on.

I never understood hoarding inspirations, they're dirt cheap. You can get the big ones on the market for like a million inf I think or with AE tickets.

A warshade can put up one hell of a fight but when I think of scrapper, it is my human only PB that comes to mind. Perhaps it is because the toon I have received a lot of, "OMG I had no idea that PBs..." responses. Maybe it is because that, for me, she is insanely fun to play (not that my ever evolving WS is not). I jump in and just wail on the closest bad guy. One, two punch and on to the next one.

Right now I am slowly bringing her up to incarnate level. Cardiac for the alpha because with all of the shields, tough, weave, and maneuvers she eats through end like it is going out of style.

A human pb "feels" more scrappy to me. It also feels like an energy defender, though.

A human ws can be almost a copy/paste of a dark/dark scrapper if you think about it, with Grav Well(Midnights Grasp)>Shadow Blast>Essence Drain (Siphon Life)>Shadow Blast, Sunless Mire (Soul Drain), Stygian Circle (~Dark Consumption/~Dark Regen), Inky Aspect (Oppressive Gloom), Stygian Return (Soul Transfer), 3 resistance shields, Shadow Cloak (Cloak of Darkness), Orbiting Death (~Death Shroud). Use the pets to make up the damage difference.

Alright Deus, I have numbers for you. I must say, they really disappoint me, but they don't actually surprise me.

My Dwarf form optimal chain, with hasten active, is this (>> indicates a gap):

Mire > Smite > Strike >> Smite >> Mire > Strike > Smite > Strike >> Repeat

The entire chain takes 11.928 seconds, includes less than half a second worth of gaps, and does a total of 1216.7 damage. After accounting for 0.95 accuracy, I get a DPS of 96.9.

That's pretty awful, but it's understandable. Even though this chain includes two purple sets (in Mire and Smite), the base damage here just isn't anything to write home about. If you're going to fight a single target for extended times as a warshade, you're better to do it in some other form.

Full saturation isn't much better. Same chain, with 10 targets to buff my damage yields a total of 1894.9, which works out to 150.9 DPS. Again, considering I have two purple sets in that chain, it's not very impressive.

None of that is rotating the heal, Black Dwarf Drain, in there either. It has the worst DPA of all Dwarf attacks, so if I have trouble staying alive, these numbers fall quickly. Let's face it, Dwarf Form is not the best for dealing damage.
