Saw the Doctor switch coming, well most of the switches really, it's pretty much a mandatory component of that "evil duplicates" trope.

Did not see the last one coming, but in retrospect a lot of things now make sense *except* how the Doctor knew all about it (and I don't just mean the pregnancy, I mean the Flesh & the eyepatch woman and soforth). It also raises the question of whether or not he knew about his death prior to Amy blabbing about it (I mean, based on past experience surely he'd have figured out that the TARDIS blue envelopes sent to him, Amy, Rory, River and Canton would have been sent by him...?)

Ok. To put the line in my last post into context...

<Fleshdoc> Looks like my death is upon me.

<DocDoc> And this one we're not invited to.

So I'd say he's figured it out, wouldn't you?

Well obviously

But what I meant was, in light of all that it's become apparent that he's been aware of with regard to Amy, did he already know about his death prior to this episode? Like I said, surely it would take impressive plot blindness for him not to have figured out that he sent himself that invite and there can't be many reason for him to have done it...

And I'm pleased that they had the good manners to show the FleshDoc dissolving at the end so as to avoid the otherwise inevitable "but which Doctor actually survived"ness that would have ensued (not that there's anything to stop him coming back when they want him to)

Anyone else think this episode might have crossed a line with it's scariness though? I mean... there was some real nightmare fuel in this one.

That episode was so good though! SO GOOD!

Because episodes like Blink and the Empty Child, not scary at all

Didn't Amy outright tell who she thought was the Fleshdoc, about the Death?

She said, rather rambly, that she'd seen his death and that he'd invited her to see it.

Decent episode. Great ending.

Also: "Reverse the jelly baby of the neutron flow"

Also, also: Did I hear right? When he said "would you like a jelly baby?" were they dubbing in Tom Baker's voice from the old series?

I didn't notice that it ever got scary. When did that supposedly happen?

Okay, so a pile of twisted rotting Flesh that's still sentient, still awake isn't scary?

What about hyper elongated mouths?

Walls filled with eyes?

Giant freaky monster that's giant and freaky?

Woman about to give birth in a small perfectly white box with just a hatch in it?

Really?

One small glitch.

The things that were switched?

They should have melted when The Doctor melted the thing in the Tardis. They were The Flesh too. So he's wandering around barefoot right?

Creepy and scary are two different sensations. There's a difference between "Ew!" and "Aieeeee!".

I think I have to rewatch both episodes again. I had a hard time with the Manchester accents and it seemed like everyone was speaking a lot quicker than normal. Beyond that, I have to say I didn't find this story all that engaging. Reminiscent of last season's The Hungry Earth/ Cold Blood episodes I was kind of tired of watching the Doctor play intermediary between 2 factions who refuse to listen.

Given how insistant they Doctors were that the FleshDoctor *IS* the Doctor (and so is the original), it puts Moffett's comment earlier about the "real" Doctor really truly dying in The Impossible Astronaut kinda in a different light, huh?

He said to the surviving gangers that "the energy of the Tardis had stabilized them" and that they were proper humans now, which implies that the same would be true of his boots

Totally wasn't expecting that at the end. Though that does open another question.

SPOILERS

How long exactly has Amy been in that room with Eyepatch checking up on her? Many people would probably say that the Silence took her there but we saw Amy have an encounter with the woman just before the Silence kidnapped her.

We have a LARGE gap between the end of episode 1 and episode 2. It could have have happened at any point in there.

It could even have happened before episode 1.

I don't think so. Potential clonedoc (still potential for now) commented on how she'd "gained a few pounds" which is either rude or referring to pregnancy.

Great episode!

Also didn't someone said that the Flesh Doctor's moleculure makeup may survive the whole incident with the melting and explosion?

Awesome ep!

I think we can now add, alongside wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey as an explanation, we can add wibbly-wobbly-fleshy-weshy!

Yep, they did it with Tennant too. "I'm the Doctor!" I think was the line.

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...

So, based on the ending, we have a new explanation for the TARDIS's indeterminate readings of Amy's pregnancy.

It's not a Schrodenger's Baby after all, instead it's a Einstein–Podolsky–Rosen Paradox Baby!

Much simpler...
