Question for FiOS users

I may be moving soon to an area where the best high speed internet option is Verizon FiOS. I have never used this before and wanted to get feedback from others who have it and play CoH. Do you have any noticeable lag issues that you attribute to the service? I currently have digital cable internet service and am wondering how they will differ.

I have FIOS and it works fine. I attributed any lag to my kids watching Netflix, YouTube, etc.

I went into the router (default password is 'password1') under the advanced settings QoS and prioritized my computer over everything else on the network. After all, I pay the bill!

I have a FiOS Triple Play plan (TV, telephone, Internet) for about half a year now.

Prior to FiOS, I had Time Warner Cable (TV, Internet). With the cable modem service, my brother and I would lag out whenever mom starts streaming her videos. One of her friends installed some sort of peer to peer video app for her. It just sucks up all of the bandwidth, up to the point where there was effectively no more Internet for rest of us (browsers times out). The app isn't in English so I couldn't figure out how to configure it.

Anyway, with FiOS, we don't even notice when she's streaming her movies now.

In the half year of service, we've only experienced on day of flaky service, so overall, we're very happy.

FioS beats anything else out there for the home - speed and reliability are unmatched. I've had it for over 3 years with nary a complaint and only 6 hours of lost service in that time and that was due to system maintenance in my area.

We've had Fios for several years and love it, there's been virtually no down time.

A few months back when I was having persistent problems staying connected to CoH, I called them for help. The tech took my problem seriously and reconfigured something on his end that made the problem go away.

None no issues whatsoever.. will never go back to Time Warner Cable.. Free Wireless Router.. Im online all the time.. my wifes laptop is on all the time.. No issues whatsoever..

i have had FIOS for about three years, my speeds are great. i run speed test once a month and my dl speeds never run under 27mbps, upload speeds never drop below 20mbps. i have no lag problems when i'm on CoX, my brother is playing black ops online, wife and nephew watching netflix. i can't say enough good things about FIOS, just get it, you can thank us later

I'm a very satisfied FiOS user. In addition to being fast the connection's also consistently stable (And immune to wire tapping, if that kinda thing matters to you ). I'm very adverse to cable broadband because most cable companies make heavy use of throttling and I dislike sharing bandwidth with everyone and their mother.

FIOS is the way to go. Had it almost 2 years and I will never go back to Time Warner and their stupid RoadRunner internet. Join the ranks and make the switch.

So jealous rite noa. I am stuck with bellsouth/att with their new caps on bandwidth. Its really restricting my netflix useage a ton. I am not sure how I am going to manage with this. I just hope verizon gets down to may area soon.

I moved and had to go from FIOS to Cox cable.

I miss my FIOS connection. It was not only dependable and reliable but I don't think we ever managed to max it out. I now actually have to use network shaping on my router to make it so one of us doesn't gank the internet while someone is gaming.

Stupid apartment complex with an agreement with Cox.
