If Mogo is truly destroyed then that is a major problem for the Lantern Corps and the recruitment of new lanterns since Mogo is the guiding force behind the rings scanning sectors.

The difference here is that his "corpse" is currently in bits and pieces raining down on Oa...

Because a writer comes along, wants to write one particular character, then freaks out when he's told "He's dead."

So, he goes about creating a convoluted story about how the character came back to life so he can get to writing the story he wanted to wright.

There's so little control in the comic book industry... So little dedication to a progressing narrative.

It's apparently more profitable to keep rehashing Superman or Wolverine's origin and adventures than to show them guiding the next generation of heroes or getting anything actually accomplished.

Look at that. A full-grown woman pulling off pigtails. Her crazy is off the charts.

Yes it is. Because the ones who keep coming back, reading and buying the comics are the old fans. People who read the stories when they were younger and want to see those heroes, not the new ones that took over when they stopped reading and left for whatever reason. Sure, folks gripe how nothing ever progresses in comics, but those are usually the first ones to scream bloody murder when they pick up a comic after not reading for five or ten years and scream at the top of their lungs "THEY DID WHAT!?!?!"

Well in Emerald Warriors Kyle tried to use the power of the blue to rebuild and reignite Mogo's core but failed. Kyle is also disgusted with John for killing Mogo, but Kyle was also ranting how they should have hoped for a better solution.

What Kyle seems to be missing is that he himself is being subtly influenced by the energy of hope and that John was also under the influence of the energy of compassion. While there MIGHT have been another way to stop Mogo without blasting his core, I can't see what it would have been, and I suspect that it is indeed what Mogo wanted to happen.

Mogo was compromised, was taken over by Krona/Parallax and had dark ring energy still in his core after Blackest Night.......sometimes the compassionate thing to do is to release someone from their suffering. So was John's action a bit of mercy? Yes. Is it bad for the Corps? Maybe. The psychic scream of Mogo disrupted Krona and the Lanterns and enabled the others to get Parallax out of the CPB. Now the Corps is awake, aware and ready to fight Krona.

My question is just how grateful the Guardians will be once they are freed of the entities....Atrocitus did prophesize that the Guardians will take Hal's greatest love from him and that Hal will revolt.......and we are hearing warnings from DC that there will only be three GL's of sector 2814 once all the dust settles. Will the Guardians drop their charges of treason against Hal that they had instigated before Krona took over?

However, imo, I think Krona has a point in that the Guardians are no longer fit to lead the GLC and protect the cosmos. Perhaps some new Guardians are needed.

That guy may be Alan Moore, creator of Mogo. Mogo will be back, it's not the first time they 've killed him. Only last time they didn't even bother to explain how!

I always wonder why people expect adaptations like movies, books, and TV shows to be true to a narrative that has never been true to itself.

When was Mogo first killed off? I don 't remember Hal/Parallax killing him.

Green Lantern Annual vol. 3 #7, when Kyle faces a bunch of dead Lanterns, Mogo was one of them. Next time we see Mogo, he's alive with no explanation.

Sounds like editorial blunder due them wanting the GLC and Guardians wiped out when they had Hal go nuts just to bring in Kyle.

I suspect that Mogo broke off a piece of itself and we will have Mogo 2 floating around soon

A chunk of him containing his life force and 'mind' falls on Oa and fuses to the planet. He becomes Oa, and takes over as the Guardians retire/disappear until such time as someone else writes them back in.

Or the chunk of him that survives is just a small meteorite now and becomes a part of the Corps in a lesser capacity like Ganthet.

That would make him "Oa, the Living Planet." Which would mean we'd sidestepped somehow into the Amalgam Universe, and somehow I just don't see that happening.
