Faking More Than Five Costume Slots
WARNING: This could get expensive, depending on what you consider "expensive".
So this isn't new, but it's new to me. You can get three extra costume slots from doing tailor missions. Check. You can get one by buying Halloween salvage and turning it in. Check. BUT if you want more than that: You can save your costume at the tailor, then change to a new one [and save THAT.] You can make as many saved costumes as you want, then when you want a costume that's not currently in your closet, you can go to Icon and swap it in. It costs a couple million inf to change your costume at level 50, but you can now have all the costume slots you want! |
Yep, I've been doing this. My Plant/Emp has about 9 different cossies altogether and I flit between them this way every now and then.
You rarely need to do it that often I find, every couple of weeks I'll stick one cossie back into storage and another one into my 5 slot wardrobe for use.

Suggestions:
Super Packs Done Right
Influence Sink: IO Level Mod/Recrafting
Random Merit Rolls: Scale cost by Toon Level
My main has 94 free costume changes, not including the vet ones I haven't claimed yet, so that should keep me going for a while

* I am mean. It is a trap. I do want you to burn inf by the wheelbarrowload. But it's also a clever workaround.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

I have a "civilian" costume slot that I switch out on my main tank. A couple of different swimsuits, dancing clothes (the default in that slot), workout clothes, christmas clothes, slouching around after work clothes, etc. Ever since the ability to save/restore costumes came out I've been doing this. It works very well, especially with all the free costume tokens I have.
The only time it is a problem is between issues. They seem to frequently break things when they put out a new release.
You can also save costumes with the costume creator under the character creation menus and select one of those when you later visit the tailor. I never spend more than a minute at the Tailor, all my costumes are premade.
I do that when creating a new character before I really know what powers or even what AT to pick. I'll tinker with it for weeks or months sometimes then when I finally make the character I just pull it in and make any last-minute adjustments to it and the powers I need and I'm done.
The only problem with using the creator for existing characters is that the zoom doesn't work like it does in the tailor and you don't have access to all the capes and auras... but it will be close.
In other news...
You can sell things on the market to make in-game funds!!

Hehe, glad to see some people actually benefited from your recent discovery/post.
and round up everyone that knows more than they do"-Dylan
Nifty idea, that... (new to me, too)
I'm not a fashion-hound (most of my toons don't use all 4 regular costume slots
as it is), but for folks that like their costumes, this could be handy.
Thanks for mentioning it Fulmens.

I've been rich, and I've been poor. Rich is definitely better.
Light is faster than sound - that's why some people look smart until they speak.
For every seller who leaves the market dirty stinkin' rich,
there's a buyer who leaves the market dirty stinkin' IOed. - Obitus.
I think it would be fantastic to have a "Load" button underneath each costume in the costume window, even outside the tailor.
My main character has more than 40 costumes.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

Enjoy your day please.
AND...
Let's say you have a costume saved that you love, but doesn't fit the character you made it for...
Make a character for that costume.
Other tip.
Make as many costumes as you want all at once and save them. Then hit cancel. You pay NOTHING! And wait for the free tailor tokens to drop.
