Obligatory "I survived the 13.5 hour downtime thread"

Player don't like downtime. Forum users don't like down time, In comparison to non-named alternative choices, the CoH community is up and ready for action for a much larger percentage of time. I thank our folks on the City of... team that keep things moving, growing, expanding, and improving with the demonstrable minimal interruption.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.

I only managed to catch the first 3-something hours of the USteam chat, but then had to go to bed since it was midnight my time. But it was a blast while it lasted. I haven't logged in the game yet but looking at the forums it seems the merger have gone relatively well and bug-free, so kudos to that, too.

Alas, I think I made it only through 10 out of the 13.5 hours. It was 8am Australian Eastern Time when I realised I was nodding off at my keyboard.

I'm not sure if I was the only Australian there (holler if there were others!), but with our government doing their Budget report for the financial year, I can understand why many were so bored they were asleep by 10pm at most last night.

The Ustream chat was fun, as it was great to put some faces to the names for a few people, I was a bit confused and slightly disappointed with the competitions though, as an example midway through discussing the second question the chat box suddently exploded with people typing the word Crey, by the time Zwillinger actually said "GO" someone had already popped up their delightment at answering the question!!!

Anyways, that aside was good of you guys to keep that feed up to give us a platform to chat with you guys!

Did a redname get decided for "Random QA Guy"?

I crashed out at 1.10am BST, because I had to be up at 7am (I got a promotion at work which means I will now have to be up at 6am for if I need to be called in, so have slowly been building up to it.)

It was an enjoyable way to spend the downtime, and you learn some interesting things (Go Sailor Moon!)

Did anyone get Black Pebble lunch in the end?

i only caught about 3-4 hours of the ustream chat because i had to take some final exams during that downtime lol

i think one of the reasons i love this game so much is because of how the devs/mods are with these community engaging chat sessions and such and a reason i will stay with this game as long as its around lol

It was nice to put faces to some of those red names... I did meet Second and Avetea (and very briefly, Posi) at the Meet and Greet, but it was great to chat with Zwillinger, Beastyle, and the others.

And thanks for putting up with my questions and inane comments. It was fun to even see names that I knew from Virtue...and later, Union (waves).

I watched the UStream from 6PM(Scotland) till 12.15(Midnight) and my intention shifted from interest in the server status to the developers. I really enjoyed every bit of it, brilliant UStream ladies and gents.

Never encountered or seen a face until now, massive thanks to Zwillinger; Arbiter ?; Black_Pebble; Beastyle; Freitag; TheNet; War Witch; Tunnel Rat; Jay; David Nakayama; Second Measure; Dr Aeon; Dark Watcher and everyone during the chat! Thoroughly enjoyed it all: Cheese(WW), Old Spice Deodorant(Jay), Comic giveaway(David), Hijack(Beastyle, TheNet, Freitag), Tunnel Rats favourite part of the game(Can't say!), Black_Pebbles neverending lunch, I'm from New York; wait your from New Jersey(DA & DW) and the Arbiter ? blasting the office with the nerfgun.

EDIT: Big thanks to the engineers, up since 4.30AM their time! Brilliant job everyone.

Had an absolute blast while I could be there - had to leave to attend to Baby Shad, and I had a migraine coming on, which really didn't help, so I bugged out around 11.30 BST.

Things I could have done without: That cheeky goldspammer who appeared and started advertising; the almost constant "lolFIX PVP I WILL TELL YOU IN ALL CAPS" from one user; and a different user telling everyone (incorrectly) that low level RP toons were going to be deleted as part of the server list merge.

Things I want more of: Everything else. Honestly. It was awesome.

I not only survived, I spent the day drawing. \o/ Which was nice, haven't felt like it lately and got a new forum signature out of it.

Was great to see the surge of new characters popping in on Union and the global channels there. Suddenly three hours (of busy broadcast and channel chatter) were poof-gone.
