Praetorian Invasion: War Council ((FAQ + OOC Discussion))
Ahem, the strategy we settled on was to move any unengaged heros to join the battles of the engaged ones.
So if they do only attack one zone, we can quite easily have all the others filter in as reinforcments.
In related news; I have far too much fun writing Recluse and Daos. Villains are always more fun to write, especially when trying to stay true to their character.

Any thoughts yet on as to whether we're going to focus the attack in fiction taking place in Atlas and Peregrine only, or maybe expanding it a little?

Bah!
I suppose there will be further attacks to do actual IG stuff with.
Omy is correct! There was a plan to co-ordinate people into zones depending on the outcome of the initial raid, forwarded by Sue.
Fiction will have to wait as I am out tonight, tomorrow, Friday, and possibly Saturday. I may have time to breathe at some point, and breathing allows me to hit the keys in an orderly fashion.
Have fun, in whatever shape that turns out to be, and I'll be back soon(ish).
well that was alot of fun, even with the lag. Giving suggestions to the devs to help them make the invasion seem more planned helped too grats to whoever that was. hope they do that again soon, dont want Praetoria out of the game just yet.
Interestingly the villainside RPers actually managed to convince the mods to have a coherent story to part of the invasion after the first waves.
Basically that attacks in Cap Au became about the Praetorians trying to bring down the PTS to shut down any and all defensive systems forcing the villains to hold it. The Praetorians also tried to claim the fort at the entrance to St Martial for further strikes into Cap Au.

A real showstopper!
Yea Fritag did an excellent job in bringing atmosphere.
I was in Peregrine and was not getting the feel proper.
So I went for the obvious target. OFC the Praetorians want to get the Portal corp building and made that into my mind.
At the end there was some kind of Rift thing mentioned, but had they just made some kind of good story there. Maybe even made some dialogue... It would have been much more fun.
For me the invasion was a non stop 3 hour battle of giant monsters (and missile spewing soldiers)

Initially a few Heroes gathered in Talos island, whilst waiting we quickly got word that Peregrine Island was the intended target of the IDF and moved to cut off their advance.
Halting the first few of Cole's Praetors well before Portal Corp. the rift that the Praetorian's were using quickly adjusted to try and bring troops into Portal Corp. itself! Again they were halted before they could enter the actual facility, a testiment to the Hero's of Union who despite the odds stood firm against whatever was thrown at them.
Eventually Portal Corp. themselves seemed to be able to neutralise the rift's locally and Praetoria was forced to open a main rift further away near Maria Jenkins. Immediately a quiet park was turned into the front line for the defence of Primal Earth and after a lengthy battle against (lots) the IDF's mobile artillery and Praetors we reduced their number to 0 and claimed the day as ours!
The dimensional barriers appear to have strengthened again, but we must remain vigilant against any and all dimensional threats!

And to provide a summation of the event redside...
We once again had Venom demonstrating her (seemingly unique) organisational skills, as she put together several teams of metahumans and destined ones to help defend the Etoile Isles. While the Krimzon Guard may be more effective than your average Arachnos grunt, when it comes to facing down two dozen Goliath class warwalkers, you need metahumans, or Commander King, but she was unfortunately ordered not to assist against the invaders.
There was a briefing in the uh
briefing room, but given the intel consisted of theres going to be an attack very little briefing actually occurred. Other than Venom mentioning that there would be a bounty on any Seers brought alive. Our hero-
er
protagonists decided that defending Cap would be most sensible, due to the PTS, and its general defensibility. Unfortunately for them, the Praetorians decided to attack St. Martial, sending a series of walker columns to attack the city. It seems these attacks were something of a diversion however, as the Praetorians set about deploying human forces in Cap au Diable, as well as some turret emplacements.
We never found out what these soldiers intended to do however, as we were able to divert forces to Cap to eliminate them. The invasion now across two fronts, we spent time flitting between Cap and St. Martial, dealing with the attacks as they came. Eventually however, the Praetorians objectives became clear. While our forces were bogged down fighting in Cap au Diable and St Martial, a Praetorian strike team managed to assault and take Double Down. If the Praetorians were able to hold the fort they would have a fortified staging ground for further attacked, and thus the forces of evil regrouped to destroy this beachhead.
Unfortunately, the Praetorians launched an attack on the PTS, another critical target, and our forces were somewhat reluctantly divided in an attempt to secure both targets. We were eventually successful, and with that the invaders back had been broken. There were some more skirmished, including another attempted attack on the PTS, but these were dealt with comparatively easily, until all that was left were a few pockets of resistance scatters across Cap au Diable and St. Martial. When the last of these was dealt with (a last desperate attack by the entire Praetorian Guard) the forces of evil finally went their separate ways.

IC wise, King was around organising Rogue isles defences and slaughtering anything that got near her
OOC, it was an utter lagfest that I arrived late to, so that wasnt happening at all.

'Arachnos base, Grandville. There is a huge bundle of unconscious IDF seers, bound with twisted metal girders left outside the Arbitarial tower. A note pinned to them says simply "Satisfied? -King"'
