Lamda Guns - Getting to them?

Hi,

well, just ran my lvl 50 Inv/Fire tank through it's first Lamda.

All was going fine till we got to the Guns take down.

My travel strategy for this Alt was/is to rely solely on Ninja run and the Temp power Jetpack for flight. The recent changes to Trains and Ferries et cetera made this method real easy to get to places on time and not hold the team back.

I have never had any trouble getting to mish doors and going anywhere I want using that combo, till now.

How do I get to the Guns level with no vertical movement apart from jump/hurdle?

I did shout for a TP but in the heat of battle the only other team member that had recall friend missed the shout. I stayed by the warehouse doors and sulked!

My paid for Temp Power was disabled boo hoo! Any ideas (apart from a respec) to overcome this bit of the trial?

Thanks

Mmm...

I really can't see the justification to disable temps to begin with...

Hmm. I was on several Lambda Trials last night with my Elec/Shield scrapper who only has Super Speed for travel. (I use Raptor Packs when I need vertical.) While the Jet packs were disabled, Ninja Run worked fine, and that's what I used to get up to the guns and then jump from gun to gun.

Are you sure you checked to see whether Ninja Run works? It did for me.

And we did a successful Master Lambda Run the last time through! Woot!

Most my toons only use Ninja Run and Hurdle lately and I have no problem jumping up to the guns and am usually the first one there. I believe there is a truck in the courtyard on the north end which you can then use to jump up to the small mid level just below the guns. You need to get up here to take out two groups anyway. Then from there you should be able to jump on the wall just below the guns then up to the guns. Going from gun to gun just make sure to jump onto the wall between them. Easy Peasy. Heck even CJ/Hurdle should be enough for this.

OH plus, in case you didn't notice, Ninja Run will scale a near verticle wall if you just keep the jump button and forward buttons held.

Nukes, Shivans, & HVAS. People used this combo to do a 3 minute Hami Raid. The Devs wanted these trials to be a challenge. Nukes and other temps make them trivial. Same reason they disabled them for the Cathedral of Pain.

Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

And yet they allow Ninja Run to allow people to get to turrets...

My speedster MM uses the GvE Jump Pack. Either that, or I send my henchmen up to the tower alone, and hang out on the ground (almost all pets have an inherent +jump height power, which is plenty to reach the turret).

Most diagonal surfaces in the courtyard can be run up.

Ninja Run isn't disabled.

Run around to the right-side of the courtyard. Jump onto the low building there, then jump to the roof in the back of the facility. From there you can acesss the wall and then the gun towers.

If you have Hurdle slotted and are using NR, you should be able to leap from tower to tower fairly easily.

I have much more problem with the Lag in the Lamda trial. Before creating new content I'd love for them to fix that warehouse room so that it doesn't force me to turn my graphics to minimum to avoid lag...

I can get to the top of the wall for turret killing with just Combat Jumping. How in the heck are you having difficulty with Ninja Run?!

Hi Guys,

thanks for all the really useful advice

As I said I have always used my jetpack to deal with vertical travel and my Ninja for the run speed boost.

I had not realised just how good it was for climbing. I will now go off to a quiet corner and practise that skill and will stick to BAF's till I got a handle on it.

Thanks again, muchly appreciated.

I'd never bother using recall friend to get someone to a gun. It would usually be dead by the time the power animation had finished.

As of the next patch (the current patch on Test), you'll be able to use travel-only temp powers in the Trials ^.^

I used TP on my ice/kin and I find that I usually get killed trying to get to the last two mobs on the upper deck before the cannons. I TP up and then fight the first mob and then start heading to the second mob ( some 10+ seconds) when the cannons shoot me. I take this as game LAG and I was really dead before I helped with the first group.

I hate lambda with a passion on my ice/kin. ICE slow powers out aggro EVERYTHING in the game PERIOD.
I die on the general mobs outside.
I die on mobs inside.
I die getting to the upper deck.
I die on cannons
I die on A/V just inside
I die trying to keep up on weapons.
I die trying to keep up on acid.
I die just standing in the corner cowing in fear of drawing aggro.
I die on the A/V endgame.

I should just play solitaire in the hospital

Would you rather he called it the "Lambada Trial", like half or more of the people on my server seem to?

But the lambada is forbidden!!

Mmm...

I like dancing the Lambada actually, they should make a dance emote for it and only usable during the Lamda trial....

For tghose posters, despairing about their essential squoshiness...

After you 3 tier slot Lore and Destiny, you are not so overly squoshie. Just have patience.

In the mean time, oh well, like all other support ATs, get used to the one shot kill, perma spam mez, and what not; after all the support classes are like the "red shirts" in the old Star Trek shows, they were murdered so we could go "wow" of how awesome the monsters were and how mega awesome Kirk was when he beat them up, thus the support class main role is to show how awesome the melee bunch are.

But as I said do not despair, once you tier 4 destiny with Clarion, mez finally will not be the good ole "I Win" button for the mobs. Also the level boost will make a great difference. When you get lore, you get yourself a nice temp bodyguard bunch, and another level boost, between those two and your alpha tier 3, you can become level 53 during trials, now that is cutting the enemy's edge down to size.

Just have to say how ridiculous it is that you have to buy the Natural pack to participate in anything.

Lots of us have it, but think about how silly that is. Please request that a ramp be added somewhere.

Currently, on redside anyway you can get a flight pack from an arc that DOES work in the iTrials.
There may be another and there may be one blueside. idk
