A "vanity" pet truly worth having....

You know those vanity vet-reward pets; yeah, the ugly ones, the stupid-looking ones. [Not all of them for either category or both, but many of them qualify as far as i am concerned.] If you love them great, if you're like me you're doing stuff like looking at the Clockwork pet we have now and going, "....ugh." And just not bothering.

I would like to suggest a new vanity pet: I would like an MK-VI Victoria Clockwork pet, please. She doesn't even have to do anything, just follow me around looking cool! In fact I would prefer for her not to draw aggro.

In fact now that I think about it, an ACU or BCU Clockwork pet would also rule. Or any of the new Clockwork!

"Victoria" is one of the coolest-looking NPCs in the game. Veteran Victoria pets now, please!

Pretty much ever since those "vanity pets" were released several years ago people have wanted either more choices and/or different choices for them. That's the obvious problem with only having a few hardwired choices to pick from.

For what it's worth for some of those pets fit perfectly for some of my alts concept wise. Unfortunately I have other alts that I've had for years that haven't even picked a vanity pet yet because none of the choices available make any sense for them to have.

It's therefore pretty sad that the Devs decided to go once again for this limitation of choice when it comes to the new Lore Incarnate pets. It's as if they ignored all the complaints they've gotten over the years and decided, once again, to give us a new group of pets that we only have a very limited choice of. At least for you one of those very limited Lore choices will in fact be the MK-VI Victoria clockwork. It won't be a "vanity" pet, but at least it'll be a pet of some kind. Many other people won't be so lucky to get what they want.

I'd honestly rather have a "pet" pet. Like a dog, cat, or bird. That would have went perfectly with the Animal pack. I can also see it being popular with the role players.

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

That would be a nice option, but I would not take my cat into a battle situation in real life, not would I want one doing so in-game. I guess you could dismiss a pet like that when entering a mission; perhaps I am too tenderhearted about animals in general. I also dont really want to see people flying off as their dog struggles to keep up with them on the ground; I see people doing that with MM pets now, I hate the sight of it and it would upset me to see this happening to animal pets. Way too tenderhearted.

But hey, my Dominator has decided she wants to be followed around by a giant metal guy, to intimidate the opposition. He can just look cool. Although.... having a pet who could drop Statesman's recovery into the basement would be mighty handy.

Oh well, we won't get vanity pets with truly useful powers, but one that looks cool would be plenty of fun. Like Vicky. Vicky following you around would be fun.

Frickin' sharks with frickin' laser beams on their heads?

I used to fiddle with my back feet music for a black onyx. My entire room absorbed every echo. The music was . . . thud like. The music was . . . thud like. I usually played such things as rough-neck and thug. Opaque melodies that would bug most people. Music from the other side of the fence.

Unlock the Lore Incarnate slot in I20 and a Mk-VI Victoria pet is yours.

My TA defender is pretty darn fond of her little Primal clockwork pals. (And Edison, the non-buff one, has actually been fairly useful. Zhen spends most of her time in the air, and looking for Ed is an easy way for her non-flying partner to keep track of where she is.) She's looking forward to adding a Preatorian bot to her collection of mechanical minions.

That said, the existing pets really aren't as good a concept fit for most of my crew, and I'd love to have other options. Little DE underlings (Rubbles and such-) would be fun. Drones and orbs of various sorts would be entertaining... Even more whisp varieties and colors wouldn't be bad.

I'd have to pass on the Natterlings, though. My Shard-native bird-brains consider those guys food. Having one of them along would be a little too much like packing a lunch.

A blue sprite Vet Pet with sonic shields in pink works very very well

I had an old woman who was a retired catgirl superhero (would have been a Sonic blaster with a non-existant Martial Arts secondary) that found a cat with ice powers and returned to crime-fighting as a Cold/Sonic Defender. I used the shoulder kitty for it, but if there had been an actual pet option I'd've used it.

Do you have any idea how long that is gonna take?! I don't even have anyone at tier 4 of the Alpha slot yet, and to be honest that's nowhere near happening. I have three characters I am seriously pursuing incarnate stuff with, and its veeeeeeery slow going, Especially since we seem to have recently underwent a shard-drop nerf.

Nice idea, but I won't see that pet for literally years.

I have two MMs. Both of them have Group Fly to ferry everyone around with. Slow, inconvenient, but beats having to run around on the ground or have pets struggling across the landscape after me, who is a half-mile away.

Now if we had more options on these, I may select to redeem the reward more often.

As it is now, I usually only pick the will o wisp and one time the Mini Mecha Man (and that was only because it seemed like a cool "Look at my remote control toy!" )

They look a lot like the revamped Nighstar, just different colors. The new Nightstar can be seen right outside the train station in Imperial City, I think it is. Reeeeaaaally pretty. Victorias are lighter colors though.

Regardless, I want one. But all new Clockwork rule, Vicky's just the prettiest.

I'd take a paparazzi running around behind me taking pics (with a flash of course) while I do what I do out on the street. For pure gold add in some npc captions like "Yeah! Just like that!" or "Hey Last Post... is there anything you want to say to your fans?!"

I'd pay for that in a booster pack.... and I haven't bought booster yet.

1. There was no nerf, random is random. Someday the devs will nerf insane conspiracy theories, and I will be joyous.
2. You don't need Alpha (or any other Incarnate slot) slotted up to tier 4 to unlock Lore.
3. You can select the Mk-VI Victoria pet on tier 1 of Lore. Might take you a couple runs of the BAF Trial to unlock. No more time than you invested in the tier 1 Alpha.

There, no more excuses. You got your pet. Enjoy, be happy.
