Yeah based on that server move to Austin I wasn't totally surprised to hear of this eventual NA/EU server list merge. Seems like a fairly logical and long overdue reorganization if you ask me.

While I'm sure plenty of people are happy to have access to more servers (regardless of which side of the "pond" you live on) as an avid badge collector the fate of the Passport badge has now come into question again. I'm hoping that with the merge those NA players (like myself) who never made the jump to the EU servers will have a new way to possibly get that badge now that all the servers are in the same place.

Maybe the devs will consider some merit recipes for the now impossible to get badges like passport or prior anniversary badges? I enjoy badging, but by no means am I a pro at it. I think even post GR, my highest badge count is somewhere around 700. But I can see how for some, getting each and every one does become an obsession.

So what if a badge recipe something along the lines of "15 Empyrean merits + 60 Astral merits + 500 Vanguard merits + 150 merits = 1 Passport badge"?

Well I'm not mentioning Passport just because it's literally the only badge I don't have yet (*wink*) but because in a very real sense it will no longer make any sense in a world where all the game's servers exist in the same environment. My argument is that Passport will likely need to be redefined as a badge now that the distinction between the NA servers and EU servers will no longer exist.

I have no problem with the idea of making Passport a badge you can to earn through an alternative method. Isolator and Jail Bird are now badges available via Ouroboros. Other older event badges are now available in updated events. Even Power Liberator/Master Thief is now available directly via the new CoP Trial. In the same way badges like Passport and even the 5th Column Gladiator badge can now be made available via new methods.

The alcohol options are as wide and varied as the inebriated players on Pinnacle. I, personally, am a hard cider person and a rum person, but as long as it's alcohol, it's welcome on Pinnacle.

Virtue and Freedom.

During my brief 2 months on the NA servers i did try out 4 servers, including the two you mentioned and experience was so different its unreal.

Virtue: Now i am nowhere near a roleplayer. I dont take part in any roleplaying and i dont do anything like that. However i had so much fun on that server seeing so many different "characters" and not people, but characters! I even put extra effort into an actual concept for my character [though i did let everybody i teamed with know i wasnt a RPer].

Freedom: After making my usual scrapper character i came to the conclusion of what the ultimate character is on freedom. An emp defender. Yes an emp defender and when i made one, i had never been in so much high demand ever! Every single battle was a constant struggle just to keep the team alive [and i think of myself as a decent healer at that!].

I've had the same experience on Virtue with a Plant/Emp controller. It was especially Good Times during City of Dual Pistol Blasters last year.

She also gets a lot of complements on her cossie and background story running around Virtue which is nice.

I am looking forward to returning to EU side and playing with people in the same timezone as me though. I love Virtue PuGs and all but the fact it's the middle of the day over there when I play evenings here can grate occasionally (like being bossed around by a herd-happy Tank a few days ago, although mostly I just ignored them).

That's not uncommon if you PUG on Freedom. I generally only team with people from Freedom's many global channels so I sometimes forget just how "special" Freedom PUGs can be. So you can choose to play an emp and keep yourself very busy trying to keep 7 noobs alive, or play whatever else and team with quality people. It's all in how you go about it.

I'm terrible at everything in this game but I like making friends. That said, any PvP over there and seeing I'm in NA Eastern time, what time are people on for teaming?
