The new merits

Can someone piont me to the post/site that explains the new super-merits that you can buy a LOTG7.5 for two?

I'd search, but I don't know what they're called. And, while merits have a good time/benefit ratio, do the new merits?

They're called Alignment Merits, or A-Merits. You get them as a Hero or Villain for doing 10 morality missions and then reaffirming your alignment.

Info here

So, 2 a-merits = 20 missions? But 1 morality mission = 10 tip missions. That's more work than normal merits.

Also, I've had the You Got A Tip show up but when I check my missions it's not there. ???

1 A-merit is made by running 10 Alignment (Tip) missions and then doing the final Morality mission but not changing your alignment.

Tips are in a seperate tab in your Contacts. You then open the tip and decide what course of action to take (Hero or Vigilante for example).

A Tip is a Contact. Check your Contacts window. It should have the tabs for Active, Inactive, Detective, and Tips. You don't get a mission from a Tip until you go there and "investigate" it.

5 tip missions (one day) + 5 tip missions (next day) let you do 1 morality mission, which gives an Alignment Merit. So 22 missions total (over 4 days) give you a LotG (or any other rare recipe you want). And they're *fun* missions, much better than the police band stuff.

Depends on what you mean by more work. Running 5 missions a day + 1 morality mission every other day is pretty simple. Considering you can roll 1 A-Merit for a 5 Random Drops, as opposed to rolling 50 Reward Merits for 1 Random Drop, it seems like less work for more reward. Sure, you have to wait longer before you can get 1 A-Merit, but actually game play time is reduced.

@Rylas

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

And I can do it on other toon and once the IO is bought I can mail it to my mains, so that's cool.

I'm not in true marketing mode now since I added it up and I have 5.4b on all my toons. I never knew. I thought I had a little under three.

You can also buy 1 Alignment Merit per day for something like 50 Reward Merits and 20 Million inf.

I can't remember if the 50 Reward Merits are limited to story arc Merits or if Vanguard Merits count, too. Depending on the recipes you get from an Alignment Merit roll you should easily be able to make the 20 million back on the market and have plenty left over.

See Organica's thread for a good guide: 30 Hero Merit Rolls.

Purpling a warshade makes them almost good.

One quick caveat: the very first time you do a Morality Mission, you get a reward of the old fashioned Reward Merits, you don't get an Alignment Merit. Every future Morality Mission does rewards A-merits.

Freedom: Blazing Larb, Fiery Fulcrum, Sardan Reborn, Arctic-Frenzy, Wasabi Sam, Mr Smashtastic.

One more thing: you don't need the Going Rogue expansion to get the alignment missions, but you do need the expansion to get the morality missions (the ones that actually give the merits).

If you don't have the expansion, you can still get the Alignment Merits by purchasing them for 50 Reward Merits and 20 million Inf from the contacts in the Loyalty Lounges (The Crucible and Fort Trident). It sounds like a lot, but each A-Merit has more buying power than what you're giving up.

Vigilantes and Rogues are locked out of the Loyalty Lounges, so they can't use the method I mentioned above either. Furthermore, they're not even allowed to have Alignment Merits. If you have any and switch to Vigilante or Rogue, all your Alignment Merits will be deleted! They will not come back if you switch back to your original alignment! So be sure to use any you have up before making an alignment change!

Minor note: while it is true that " the very first time you do a Morality Mission, you get a reward of the old fashioned Reward Merits", you get enough Reward Merits to turn them in for an AM.

You may be thinking "So the first time costs me 20 million inf?" That is correct. However, last I looked, you got around 75 million inf per AM, maybe more, so it's not a large investment in your future. Comparitively. If you don't have the cash to start with, you can always save those reward merits until you get and sell your first pure-AM recipe.

So you think you're a hero, huh.
