Smallville 2-25-11
Wish I could've seen the entire episode. The CW affiliate cutout about halfway through the ep.
That being said, loved it when Clark woke up. That was an epic party. The lemur was a nice touch.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Willpower has more passive regen than Regen does. Who thought that was a good idea?
Can we get a fix for Energy Melee instead of more new sets?
Yeah also when drunk clark went to speed off and ran into the wall was funny.. this episode was pretty light hearted fun. Zatanna messed them all up good LOL

Excellent episode!
Must admit, I'm curious how she figured out about Batman! Of course, she could be talking about several other heroes, Blue Beetle for instance?
We built this city on Rock and Roll!
You know. A year ago I would have loved this episode. Even now I liked it but I hated it at the same time.
The reason I hated it is because the series is ending. When a series I enjoy is ending I would like to see them do episodes that push the mythos forward. A climactic build up getting better and bolder till they go out with a bang that makes everybody want to see another season, or a series of movies. It's not like taking a risk will get them cancelled. This was a filler episode. Filler episodes are fine but feel out of place when you are trying to tie things up.
It kind of reminds me of Stargate Atlantis and Inquisition. They knew the show was being canceled and so they were tying up loose ends, but then wasted one of their few remaining stories on a flashback episode. It was a good flashback episode but it still did nothing to progress the storyline.
I don't want Smallville to do this. I want it to ramp up and explode. I know I'm probably not being realistic but episodes like Homecoming and Icarus are what I would like to see for the rest of the season.
And now I would like to give my thanks to IMDB for once again giving me the titles of the episodes I couldn't otherwise have remembered. Well, except for Icarus. Kind of hard to forget that one.
Don't count your weasels before they pop dink!

They dropped the ball this season. While I liked the episode, this season should have seen a slow buildup to a mid-season cliffhanger, then an all-out action-oriented, mythos-building second half of the season.
As it is, they had the season start with "ooooohhhh.... the Darkness is coming!! Doooom!" followed by random stuff, throwaway episodes, filler and then the occasional episode where someone on staff said "oh, yeah... guys, we forgot about the Darkness! Let's do one episode about that before forgetting about it again for a 5 episodes!"
Est sularis oth Mithas
My main issue is that if they did this type of episode 2 years ago i would have probably just said "oh well its filler" however right now at this point of maybe having 10 or so episodes left to the entire series, doing filler episodes IMO is poor planning and creative decision.
They have basicly barely touched the storyline of darksied at all yet. Even the terrible doomsday treatment was getting more build up then this seasons baddie. Its almost like the end of the series is going to be based more on the wedding then any villian. Im personally getting tired of the whole wedding plot, its to early, even in a alternate universe for them to be hitching up anyway. And frankly im just getting tired of the drops in the season that are only intended to get fanbois erect. The "hints" of clark in costume, the refferences to batman and wonderwoman etc. But even if y ou left in those drops, this season should already be ramped up to a fevor pitch where we are cursing our TVs when the episode ends and rushing home from work to catch the next episode the next week. As it stands now i would not even remember its on if my DVR wasnt set to automaticly record it for me.
I liked this episode better when it was called The Hangover. I also liked last week's episode better when it was called Date Night. And Collateral was much better when it was called The Matrix.
Seriously, no one's seeing a repetitive problem for this show in its final season?
Last week, Clark decided to put on glasses (and somehow, despite years of people knowing what his face looks like without them, this works instantly) and wants to keep his identity a secret. While I know an off-camera Zatanna is to blame, I think it's poorly timed that Clark is doing the same things that made him stand out before. Even after the "potion" has worn off. Like speeding off in the middle of the street and running into a wall. And where are his f'n glasses?!?

Kill 'em all. Let XP sort 'em out.

My post from last week:
Ok seriously if anyone ever questioned that smallville seems to get the most untalented, unorginal writers, all you need to look at is the recent episodes since the break. First episode back should have basicly been titled "The Matrix" this episode was "Date Night" and by the previews next episode is "The Hangover". . . |
Since the main point of the episode was to get Clark and Lois to postpone the wedding stuff (to 5 years from that point), I took it as the writers way to call off the wedding stuff so they clear the slate for the rest of season. Of course, they could have gone other ways to accomplish the same task...

I was just disappointed that Zatanna wasn't actually in the episode herself, cuz that girl is all kinds of tasty.

Did they actually postpone the wedding? I know clark says something like its ok to that he would want to marry her in 5 days or 5 years, but i dont recall them actually saying the wedding wasnt going to happen by the end of this season. (or that they really postponed it more then just putting lois' jitters to rest)
