A concern of mine.

Recently, I have been swarmed by the overwhelming urge to make dozens of alts. There is one distinct problem why they are not advancing in level.

You see, I like teaming on this game. Which is odd, considering on most other games, I despise it. Anyway, as of late I am finding it increasingly hard to find a team that is:

A) Not level 50.
B) Not doing the WST.

My concern is that, with all the new shiny Incarnate stuff, it is overshadowing pretty much else. Or at least, I feel that way on Union (EU).

Thus, I can only solo, which I despise with a passion. Sure, I could turn the difficulty up, but somehow I don't think my level 10 Brute with 4 attacks could survive +1/4x or anything above average for that fact.

Hopefully, i'll be proven wrong. But so far, the only TF's ever run are the WST. Any mention of anything else is either ignored or suffers a lack of interest.

Whilst I can ask friends to team, it gets boring when there is only two or so people present. I like playing with a full team, and lately, the only time i've done that is on the WST with my main character.

Any thoughts on this?

Find the name of the servers Global TF or team channel.

Then YOU have to lead. That's what I have been doing for the lower level stuff. I login open the channel and say Positron part 1 TF now recruiting all levels and AT's 10+ welcome, PST.

Another way is - do a 50 WTF then as it nears the end say: I am planning on running a level 20 hero tips team after the TF anyone interested?

I also will check on those LFT - I don't care what level. I say I am doing this.........would you be interested? Sometimes they are!

As far as I know, i am always tuned into the main team finding channel. And, as i've mentioned, anything that isn't the WST gets brushed under the carpet. When people are done on whatever the WST is, they either do another, or go on another alt that needs to do the WST.

I'm looking here at the main channel now. The only mention of anything that isn't a LGTF, is Apex. And that was a long time ago now. And that's not low level either.

Before WST or even Incarnates, I could expect to find a team at levels 1-20 rather easily, just by flagging 'LFT'.

Now .. nothing. Even at peak teams. Even at off times.

Nothing.

Don't forget that we're only into the 3rd week of the WST, and there are almost 7 years' worth of 50s hanging around in the game - the WST frenzy will die down a bit once those 50s start getting their Alpha tiers.

Not necessarily
By that time i20 might be out with a new slot to farm

Well, next week the strike target of the week is Sister Psyche and Silver Mantis. They're both level 20-25.

...

Moments after posting, guess who gets a team invite?

Anyway, next week should be easier on the alts as mentioned. And yes, the Incarnate craze will eventually die out, with all things.

I'm just a bit .. concerned if this doesn't dissipate, as the main reason for me quiting a certain popular MMO was exactly that all the hype and fun was locked away at the very end

Ask on URP, ya nitwit. People on there don't care as much about WSTs. Mostly.

I'd hate to be known as "That guy who's always wanting a damn team"

But I digress, my team finding habits are more along the lines of "They'll find me" So perhaps I should up my game.

But nevertheless, I still have my concerns. Though it may be down to my shoddy group finding skill, it only stirred my interest since it had usually found me groups in the past.

Well, true. But its hard to shake off the feeling of being a leech.

"Hey, you doing a level 40 mission! I can help! I've got a level 3 Defender!"

It just .. even though I can do it, I get the nagging voice in the back of my head telling me i'm a leech

After buying a new computer last week I decided to get back into teaming. I used to love playing my Defenders and Controllers for a change of pace from the usual.

What I found though is the exact problem you describe. All my support toons are in the 20-30 range... It seems everyone and their kittens are all running 50's as of late.

I'm sure this is because it's the newest shiny on the block, and hopefully once most of them get their notice they'll return to alts. Hopefully.

My big fear is this has been a game about Alt's for years and years, due to the lack of endgame. If that changes and it slowly turns into a game that's just a mad dash to 50 for everyone...
Well, I'd rather not think about that.

For now, I'm back to soloing my damage dealers while I wait for the frenzy to die down. Thankfully I'll be in range of next weeks WST, even though I don't care for the Notice I'll still look forward to the teaming!

I agree. Whilst I've realized my methods of finding teams are .. lacking, my main concern is that the next few Issues (Including 20) will be exclusivley about Incarnates, thus, only end-game.

Like i mentioned, I quit a certain MMO because the end-game was, in my eyes, mind-numbingly dull.

Hopefully, this won't be the case. But, if they decide to throw something not end-game in, I'd sincerely like it to be anything other than "Oh look, 2 new shiny arcs!" ... That doesnt get people flocking, from my experiences. Maybe for a few days, then they're just 'missions' to everyone else.

I *never* made it to the end game of the other MMO... mainly because I chose the wrong class, and I am really a single character kinda player.

Wow, are you new to this game!

The other night, a group of 50s ran FOUR back-to-back speed LGTFs. I can guarantee you they all had their Alpha tiers slotted.

Don't worry, the first three weeks of WSTs are 50 tfs for the 50s who want their incarnates. After that you'll start seeing more low-level tfs that you can get in on.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

well, the full team requirement is not helping your case, i know i had some difficulty getting that regularly well before endgame or wst. honesty i have seen some very enjoyable experiences from 4-5 person teams, jsut me of course, but its a lot easier logistically. people will gravitate to the time investment that generates the most reward, so what was the itf or katie or lgtf before is now the wtf(which had a venn diagram moment this week), so unless rewards baloon for pug mission runs, i dont see that becoming the default for a lot of players. That said, i dont think that you should panic yet, a lot of this is the tension burst from people with several years of 50's getting their characters pimped out, the very rare slot isnt going to be shard cheap. I think tech had a good idea of using the global, and i think you may be overthinking it by thinking you will be seen as a moocher. if you are good on teams, id rather expect your reputation to carry over more as someone who is a well known pug member who knows his stuff and is a safe invite, kind of a pug paul giammatti.

but who knows, there are soem achievement guys who have been begging for endgame who will likely stay at that strata all the time, but i think a fair portion will eventually return to the regular game. besides lets remember that there is non-top level stuff out there, new tips(and i see a lot of pug tips running around) and the leviathan/mediporter stuff came with issue 19 as well. so at least as i read it(i could be wrong) but that endgame content will be a factor in most future releases, not the sum and total of the content.

If you don't want to form a team, you can:
1) look for purple names in your search. Those are the leaders. Send a tell to ask if you can join.
2) look for yellow names in your search that are "On Mission Map". Click on the name, a select 'Send message to leader'

Hope this helps.

Well, thanks for the replies. It was just my luck last night that after hitting the 'Submit Reply' button I get a team invite to a team of 7

Next week should be easier on the alts in the 20+ range. Hopefully, after that, things should smooth out.

Of course, what would make things great is Positron 1 being WST, but we'll see.
