Why would a villain protect Paragon City?
Easy to take out the competition encroaching on his or her future empire and it is a well known fact super heroes are easier to deal with that super villain they have that whole morals thing
Why would an EVIL Scientist contract other villians to do the same?
Do you have any idea how much trouble it is to set up secret bases and lay conquest plans only to have some other villain stir up the heroes and screw things up. Of course any Evil scientist would set plans in motion to protect all his hard work even if it means shafting another villain even it it meant protecting Paragon city in the short term.

I20 will bring us the re-revamped Positron Task Force. Your objective: clean up Blyde Square. It will of course involve many defeat alls to acquire cleaning supplies, and will culminate in a final epic mission where you go get Positron another cup of coffee.

Can you fail the TF by bringing back black coffee?
What we need is Westin Phipps (co-op) Strike force where everybody gets to team up and go to Praetoria to kick their puppies, paint crude pictures on their clockwork and grab anything not nailed down (with a "crowbar" temp power for the items that are nailed down). All to support the war effort of course.

I do want to go to Praetoria and take their stuff. They have some really cool stuff. Sorry HVAS, we had some good times but I'm ready to move on. I got me a bigger robot.

Apex and Tin Mage are like most non-SFs in the game, they both lack the epic ending.
Virgil Tarikoss (Cap) - In a unique cave with all the Lava, The flaming chickens, Batzul and Infernal.
Silver Mantis (Shark / Base) - Fighting on the Skyraiders platform. Destroying it and fighting an AV.
Operative Ranault (Shark) - Fighting The MM AV and then the Eye in rare cave.
Ice Mistral (St M) - The Crystal Cave, and entering it by jumping down a hole.
Since these SFs, most newer content has lacked in the epic feel.

Okay first of all like Techbot says.. "Hey this is MY planet if anyone is going to devastate it and take over it's gonna be ME!"
Next are you honestly telling me in 50 levels of game play you have never gotten a single mission from a contact that had you battling in Paragon City? Never did a Mayhem mission? Okay so there you are robbing the bank and blowing stuff up but there ARE banks in the Rogue Isles as well. Didn't you do your cape mission? That takes you to Steel Canyon to battle Longbow, OH big suprise a mission against LONGBOW (lol), and steal a cape from a hero.. There are heroes running around in the Rogue Isles. Apex has Primal Earth forces, VANGUARD volunteers probably since we do start out in the RWZ, protecting Kings Row and Steel City where the Praetorians are attacking. Tin Mage follows up with us defending Nerva in the Rogue Isles before we switch to protecting the Vanguard base in the RWZ.. a COOP zone. Eventually we all wind up in Praetoria taking the battle to them.. I don't see the problem. Lord Recluse has authorized Arachnos personnel to join Vangaurd and assist in defending planet earth. Now mainly that is supposed to be from the Rikti but if Cole and his Praetors plan to invade and destroy us its just as much a threat. Obviously LR thinks so or why would there be mission in Praetoria involing Arachnos agents sent to help the Resistance?
