From the Beta Server...
Aww yeah, the U.S. Gov. has finally got something juicy going on or want us to put their stamp of their boot on Arachno's behind. Either way it is gonna be good.

Definitely Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer

Ok that's just lazy texturing. Not even a hole in the gun barrel...good luck firing that thing lol

Birds building nests for example.
The build up of crud in a gun barrel can cause the gun to burst when fired and kill the crew.
On my ship we had rubber plugs to put in the barrels of our main guns and tarps that covered the loading mechanisms. On the smaller weapon systems tarps were used to cover the entire weapon.

If you were in the GR beta, you mgiht remember what Imperial City and Neutropolis looked like before they were opened up for players to test

Why get rid of the mobs?
If it's level 50 content (no idea if it is or not), then the mobs don't matter. ![]() |

I was meaning more from the point of view that if the area between the battleship, the hosptial and Statesman's ship was turned into a sort of Longbow/military area, then having brawling Tsoo and Family inside the compound might be a bit silly ![]() |
Let me see the Asian and Italian mob fighting near military bases ? Sounds spot on.
Those are some big boats.
Cancel the kitchen scraps for widows and lepers, no more merciful beheadings and call off christmas!
One thing a ship could point to might be a new zone that's outside the city - an island or a large floating structure is a self-contained environment that works very well with the way CoH zones are set up.

or in this case, a star-destroyer. ahem
and yes, there are of course a few options this could point to. a zone in another country (japan would make me squeal) or even a lost world type setting. some underwater content, perhaps related to merluna and the coming storm, or it could just be that , like the vanguard suddenly went from theoretical to real in issue 10, and the ppd became a real element in issue 8, perhaps the military will now be used as a plot introduction element for larger scale stuff.
Yup, definitely a Burke-class DDG. Good eye, and thanks to everyone who responded.

That ship reminds me of the Arleigh Burke class destroyer.

My wife and I once had a picnic lunch on the fwd missile doors on one of those while it was under way. Long story.
Admiral Sutter's bio: *Spoiler Alert*
Rear Admiral Theodore H. Sutter has served his country with distinction for the last 38 years. Though it has been a decade since he commanded a surface vessel, Admiral Sutter has always prefered to 'lead from the front.' The coming Praetorian Invasion has given Sutter an excuse to once again move into a command position directly on the front lines and has assembled a fleet of warships to protect Paragon City's harbors.
/spoilers
So the warship will have something to do with Praetoria, but what exactly will have to wait until later...

Villains are those who dedicate their lives to causing mayhem. Villians are people from the planet Villia!

We're supposed to be saving them, not wiping them out
EDIT: Maybe in true villain style, Tyrant's thugs have set up a forward base on an island off the coast?

And technically, Praetoria IS and island villain lair. Just one so massive it also has good guys in it too. and Neutral guys.

Technically not... even though Praetoria (city) is on an island (or a couple of islands), Cole has the goodwill of ALL the governments in Praetoria (earth), at least according to the lore.
|
But still, we have Striga for the 'Island villain fortress' and in a much grander sense there's the entire Rogue Isles, Grandville taking the cake (Hell, all it needs is a skull fortress and then any villain would feel at home there.) so I don't imagine the devs rehashing that with Cole.

Good point.

You could set them on fire and save them by putting out the flames.
You could digitize them and save them to a DVD.
You could cryogenically freeze them and save them to be thawed out at a later date.
You could have a priest absolve them of their sins and then save their souls from temptation by sending them to meet their Maker.
You could process them into food and save them for dinner. Soylent Green is people.

Nice, and with the Ghost Ship sightings it will be like a mini Fleet Week!
