Might I recommend that you allow for, say, a single 48-hour gap, in case of people who are trying to use time cards or otherwise having problems that prevent them from keeping their account active despite their best efforts?
Why, yes. I might recommend just that. In fact, I hereby do so.

So, an actual, like, serious question: What do those of us who have *actually* been playing for ~7 years get? All those veteran rewards that make me feel squishy and special inside, now reduced to meaningless because everyone has them? I want to feel special. Make me feel special!!

You do know you only get vanguard pack & badge for the staying subscribed over the set period, not any of the vet rewards.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

The only thing you can really do in that case is put your time card code in a bit early. As far as I know, it will just add time to the end of your subscription, extending it. I'm not 100% sure though, as I don't use time cards.

What if I change my payment method, should that make a difference?
What if I'm locked out of my Master Account and am waiting on Support to help me get back in so I can make sure my subs are paid and it lapses for a day or so?

THen your subscription didnt lapse....
My subscription lapsed a day, does that mean I cant get the vanguard pack on the 28th?

Hmmmm...one of my 3 accounts had a credit card that expired this month. I forgot to change the billing info...duh...then I got an email while I was online that the payment didn't go through. It was fixed and paid for within 15 minutes.
So...what are the odds that I'll get hosed on the missing 15 minutes?

If it happened earlier in the day, then you should have nothing to worry about.

Well the account time period is over, now all we gotta do is wait for the 28th to get the rewards
It's the 28th.... I'm terribly impatient.... and nothing is unlocked on my account yet.
Can anyone tell me WHY it isn't unlocked?

Simply specifying "At noon EST" would at least have dealt with all of these "When's it happening" questions.
Aren't active accounts going to be active anyway?
