I blame Canada, sending their Arctic cold fronts down here every winter. Curse you Canucks!

I don't care about snow, I am tired of having single digit weather for the past few weeks. Don't make me get out my winter coat.

Pshaw. I'm Michigan born and raised. I give a damn about Winter weather?

Denver has had an unseasonably warm and dry winter this year so I welcome our new winter overlords, even though I slipped on the ice twice while coming home today.

Eesh. Did you get any windchill?

If, today, I tell the press that, like, there's going to be snow, or a icy conditions, nobody panics, because it's all "part of the plan." But when I say that they're going to be outside, driving in it, well then everyone loses their minds!

Here in Chicago, we have three seasons. Winter, "Not Winter" and "Road Construction"

The mental image I just had of The Joker anchoring on the Weather Channel was priceless. Thanks.

Born and raised in WI. Living in FL.

The amusement value of people complaining how COLD it is (and "How can you wear a T-shirt, it's FIFTY THREE DEGREES!") doesn't lessen much. (And yeah, I'd rather be back somewhere with seasons other than "Wet," "Hot," and "Tourist.")

I'm the opposite. It's supposed to hit single digits where I live tonight, and I think it's my first time, in my 30 years here on this Earth, that I've been present for such a condition. And of course, I'm comedy gold for the locals.

Gimme six months, and we'll see who's laughing!

Not winter is Road Construction season.

Erie, PA here, Great Lakes snowbelt. Our average snowfall is just under eight feet. Which isn't much, all things considered. But holy cow, I am tired of double digit negative windchill. My dog won't go outside either, Ironik.

A couple weeks ago, we were getting consistent temperatures in the teens and low twenties, but it's so dang dry here, we didn't even get frost.

I hate people that complain about snow. I want some!

You can have my snow, I don't want it. It's Canadian snow, so it's way better than American snow.

Yeah, my parents originally moved to Vegas back in 2000. Right after they got there, there was a "cold snap". It was a whopping 65 degrees out.

All the long-time natives are running around in winter parkas. And here's my old man wandering around in shorts and a t-shirt.

Now they live in Florida and seem to be much happier there (Vegas is a nice place to live if you have the cash to support a social life of heading out to the casinos every couple nights, otherwise it palls really really fast).

I remember my first year at Fort Drum, NY (just north of Watertown).

Average morning temps of 30 degrees below (before windchill).

We got us this new post commander who'd spent most of his little career at Fort Hood, TX. So he had some stupid notion of "It's never too cold to do PT.

Two words for that:

MY !

At those temps, cold weather injuries are almost instantaneous, especially for someone dressed in PT gear.

This is why the post had a LARGE and well appointed fitness center.

He tried pulling an all-post PT session on us in the middle of February.

2 people showed up. The post commander and his aide to report that everyone else had gone to sick call that morning. Then aide then reported that he was going to sick call and left as well.

Needless to say, after a little sit-down with all the doctors involved in the MEDDAC, said commander revised his opinions. Especially after being informed about a situation involving a butter bar that took her company out into the field with inadequate cold weather gear and field heaters, resulting in more than half the company contracting cold weather injuries (and roughly 10% of those being severe enough to require surgical interventions).

IL myself (About a hour S/SW of Chicago...). And out in the middle of farm land.

Just looking out the window. Snow's blowing and coming down. If we get what's being predicted, Not only the actual snow, but the drifts. Oh that's gonna be soo much fun. Winter of '79 anyone?

Thank you for the time...

On Saturday, I helped put on a game for my LARP. We were out in the park all day. Fortunately, I didn't have to wear one of the heavy costumes, because I sweated enough in jeans and t-shirt while we were hauling props back to the truck.

Ow! Knock it off! Where are you guys finding rocks, anyway? I thought they were all buried under eighteen feet of snow or something....
