Born and raised in Northwest Ohio, lived for years in Kalamazoo with lots of snow every season. Now I'm in south central Indiana where we get more ice than anything else.

I'd much rather have all the snow. Right now we've got a nice ice storm settling in. I'm just hoping we don't lose power later.

I live in south south texas (Corpus Christi) and wed-fri the forcast says the high will be 35 and the low 25... which is REALLY FREAKIN COLD for this area of the country.

I went to the movies this afternoon and it was 12 here in NH. They're calling for 18-24 inches tomorrow. Even with all the sunshine we've had this past week, I think we still have a good 2 to 2.5 feet of snow on the ground, so that should be interesting.

Edit: here's what the snow looks like now. We'll see how much it's changed by Thursday. That's a regular table, so that's about 3 feet tall.

Woo hoo! They closed the plant down today so I get to stay home and play CoH! I just hope the electricity stays on...

Larry: Owen, what the hell did you do to my wife?
Owen: Well I don't want to say on the phone - all I can tell you is that I killed her last night.

Heh. I live in Alaska, so I'm just rofling all over the place. We have 3 seasons: SNOW, slush, and construction. 20ish degrees is T-shirt/light jacket weather (excluding extended events, snowmachining, etc.), I usually never bother with a coat unless I plan on staying out awhile.

Heh. I live in Florida, so I'm just rofling all over the place. We have 3 seasons: HOT enough to melt lead, rain, and a couple of not-so-hot weeks in January. 50ish degrees is heavy multi-inch thick jacket weather (excluding running out to the car to quickly turn on the heater, etc.). I usually never bother with pants/sleeves unless I plan on staying inside awhile.

I would complain about the six foot mounds of snow all over my neighborhood, but everything's being covered with an inch thick layer of ice as I type. So I'm kind of looking back at snowfall as "the good old days" right now.

Ya gotta love a tech job that lets you telecommute when the weather gets bad. Hope you get to work and back safely today Rian. I'll be here sipping hot cocoa in warm pajamas while occasionally cursing at temperamental servers.

I'd appreciate it if all you "ha ha I walk around naked when it's 2 degrees outside" folks would kindly keep this "cold" stuff away from me. I mean, I had to PUT ON A COAT!! HAVE YOU PEOPLE NO MERCY!?!? I actually get SOMEWHAT CHILLED when I go outside for a smoke! This is an OUTRAGE!!

Oh, but it rained when the cold front moved through, which is nice.

Ok, but you have to promise to do something about the heat leaking into our summers up here. I actually had to run the damn air conditioning for two weeks last summer when it broke into the 90's!

66°F here and expected to top out around 76°F or 77°F today. Florida could really use some real snow. A couple feet deep would be awesome.

My cousin lives in OK and Saturday posted a picture of her kids flying kites in shorts and today posted a photo of the two inches of snow/ice they just got. That kind of whiplash season change I couldn't take.

Now they live in Florida and seem to be much happier there (Vegas is a nice place to live if you have the cash to support a social life of heading out to the casinos every couple nights, otherwise it palls really really fast).
Heh... Originally from Seattle, transplanted to 'Vegas in '98. That year, 'Vegas got a whole whoppin' inch of snow, that lasted for all of 4 hours, and they closed down the schools. It was the "talk of the town". 2 weeks later people were still saying, "what d'ya make of that snow?!". lol

BTW, if you live here, frequenting the casinos as part of your regular social life is a very ... er ... newbish thing. Most folks who have lived here for any length of time get over that pretty quick.

'Vegas had a record breaking summer in 2010: 45 days straight of temps over 110. Everything died. I couldn't keep plants alive even by watering morning and night. I believe it also killed of a lot of the insect life. We usually have an autumn influx of roaches, crickets, ants, spiders, etc. This autumn - nothing.

Keep in mind that my parents are retirement age. So it's not like they went out there for primo skydiving ops, or ultimate tanning, or anything like that.

And there's only so many shows in town. And they had friends who were hitting the town Every...single...night.

This is why my parents had continuous drip irrigation set up for all their plants when they built their place.

I lived in Cincy for 7 years. My brand-new next-door neighbors were from Paris, France, and they moved in three days before we got a foot of snow. He said they'd never seen anything like it.
