  • In addition to the badge, for 7 years in City of Heroes you will be able to remote access the Auction Houses with the slash command /auctionhouse and gain an additional Character Slot.

Wow. Very impressive double whammy of vet rewards here. Well done, devs.

I've always thought a revive power would make a great vet reward, so I'm glad to see it implemented. And, the mobile auction house power is just plain awesome. I always wanted a base auction house interface, but this goes one better.

Thanks devs, looking forward to both 81 and 84 months.

Q. Just wondering Posi, where are the new dance emotes we were told would come with GR?
A. Positron: Whoops, my bad.

1387 badges, and counting

If any seven year vets b**** about this power, I will smack them.
Well I guess you're going to have to smack me then.

I don't technically have any problem with a "remote market access" power existing in the game in some form. I will just add my voice to many other people's who don't really like this being a post 7 year Vet award power, especially considering how often this particular kind of power has been specifically asked for over the years.

My main gripe about it is that we already had the precedent of other "remote access" powers being obtainable as Accolade powers. The Field Crafter badge grants the Portable Workbench power and the Mission Engineer badge grants the Architect Comlink power. Why couldn't there have been a new market accolade power made for this to match the others? There's no obvious reason why this new "access" power had to be gated behind a high-end Vet award other than it just being an arbitrary decision on the Devs' part.

I'll have this power in a few months so it's not that big a deal for me personally. I just continue to feel sorry for the folks who only have a few months or years into this game. *shrugs*

This one strikes me as a bit odd for two reasons, the first of which is above. The second is that it's access to a slash command rather than a "click power" set up by the devs. Yes, we can just macro it, but that doens't detract from the fact that it's the first time a vet reward has been "just" a slash command.

To me, it feels like the Devs suddenly realized they needed a reward and this one got tossed on the table. That's not to say it's not an ability I WANT, just that the above two factors give it that feel.

Ok, not really. I think they are both awesome. The problem is that we already had the requisite complaints that they should be available to everybody and it wasn't fair that only people who had played forever get them. The one thing missing was having a long time vet complain that they were useless. I kind of felt like I was in the Praetorian forums or something.

"All hail the gifts of Cole"
"Woe unto those who have to wait to become worthy of these gifts."
Which should tell you just how over the top they are.

The patrol XP bonus was a much better vet reward IMO, and received only a few comments that it was not strong enough. This goes way to the opposite.

A game is not supposed to be some kind of... place where people enjoy themselves!

I'll have these rewards soon enough. I like 'em.

But... I have to add my voice to the 'remote auction house access is too good' crowd.

There should be other ways to obtain this ability. At the very least, a base item should be added that allows for auction house access. At the very least.

I do very much appreciate the QoL improvement. But something of this significance should be obtainable, at least in part, by everyone. Especially when, as has been pointed out, the precedent has already been set with the workbench and the AE tablet.

So. Yah. Base item would be neat. And while you're a it, how about a tailor object for bases as well?

Wow, the 81 one is neat.

The 84 one I'm uneasy about. I was hoping we could get that bonus in a more accessible fashion. Please promise you won't do tailor from anywhere as a vet reward? I will pay you cash money for that, but be VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY disappointed if it's time-locked.

Great job DEVS!!

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

No smacking of people who agree with me will be administered. I (along with, I'm sure many, many others) made a suggestion in the Suggestions forum a year or so ago for a Remote Market Access accolade. As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I was told by other players that it was a dumb suggestion and an unnecessary waste of the Devs' time just to overcome my inherent laziness.

Well, now that the option exists, maybe the Devs will read the comments in this thread and come up with an accolade that will allow those of us with less than 7 years of play time to unlock this. After all, I doubt there are too many vets who would complain if they announced a future vet reward was a remote crafting station power similar to the one granted by the Field Crafter accolade.

But the thing is, see, this CAN be obtained by everyone. It's not reliant on someone having to grind the crafting badges, or hunting for 4 different enemy groups, or completing X,Y, and Z TFs. Vet rewards are the easiest things in the game to get. All you have to do is keep paying and you're guaranteed to get them if the game is still running. And if you quit the game or the game quits you before you get it, you're not missing out on anything but getting to be extra lazy.

There is zero wrong with Devs putting in something that will be obtainable instantly by some, and then obtained at a later date by the rest. It doesn't matter how desirable that thing is.

Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.

This is like telling college graduates not to complain about paying into Social Securitybecause they are guaranteed to get that money back when they retire. (If Social Security is still around.)

I strongly disagree. This makes me nerdrage. So I'll just agree with what Lothic said since my actual opinion is very mean.

I don't read it like that at all. The way it looks to me is that they want to test the effects (either technical or social) of adding in the capability, and wanted to limit the speed of adoption. This way they've got a small but steadily growing pool of people with access so that they can make any tweaks needed before making a base item or accolade power.

I could be wrong, but that's how I read it.

Seem like crazy good vet rewards to me. Grats to those getting them, and for staying around subscribed for 7 years.

The market place one is just wow. Would of been great even as a slow recharge click reward. Grab wakies for the team, drop off salvage, avoid the no power slowmode Praetoria auction houses, and it comes witha free set of vanguard steak knives,

Combined with the portable crafting temp power its even crazier good.

I hope there is another way to earn similar ability somewhere along the line.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

You can. Even at their most expensive, they're $47.97 every three months.

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

To be more accurate it should be phrased "and three months." since you have to wait another three months to access each additional veteran reward in addition to the money you pay.

i'm still of the opinion that most all of the veteran reward powers that aren't already accessible through other means like mission rewards, crafting, and accolades should have one of those options added. The advantage to veteran rewards will still be that they're automatically acquired on each character and are permanent.

Dang...... I have to wait till May to get my 81 badge and I am REALLY looking forward to August to get my 84 badge, that new power is the bee's knees.
