Ninja Run question/vote
Quite the opposite actually.
I would love to have an alternative ninjarun that had less cheesy anime ninja animations. Don't get me wrong, I love the power and use the heck out of it. But I would like something with a bit more pedestrian animation set.
I for see there as room for both addition (and essentialy all three) or maybe make the animations a seperate no endurance "power" that can be stack with anything but be toggled on or off at the leisure of the player call it Ninja Run Style where as the attribute cboosting "power" remains as Ninja Run with the normal game animations
Should customizing Power Pools ever happen, I would like for a Ninja Run style to be added to Super Jump and Super Speed.
Otherwise, I wouldn't really want it. Anything else would be too cumbersome considering it's just a cosmetic change.

It varies, really. While it may look anime-ish at its base, it looks really natural on a Shield Defense character (because swinging your shield arm around isn't smart but running in with your shield arm leading?), more stylish with Claws and, as of now, the only means to give a hunched over animal-esque stance.

Like I said, I love it, I use it, it's not a big deal to me. But all the same, it would be nice to have the same functionality without the animations currently in place. Not a game breaker, but it would be a nice perk.

I mean, what did we do without Ninja run before? For one, we didn't have an alternate run/jump animation for our characters. So far we got one alternative. But if I don't like the way it looks, I won't use it even if I actually really like the power (I'd advise no one to use NR with Dual Blades...)
Well you said "I'd love an alternative ninja run without the animation", not "I'd love an alternative ninja without the animation and without taking up power picks".

An alternate ninja run without the current animation is pretty self explanatory. Same functionality, lacking the current animation.
SS+CJ is not an alternate ninja run. It is something much much faster on the ground, with much less vertical movement, stealth and a blazing feet animation. Also, it has 3 power selection cost.
You didn't suggest an "alternate ninja run" you suggested something vaguely similar from a thematic standoint but radically mechanically different. Not really sure what's complicated about this...

Actually, I like the animations a lot better on characters that have weapons out. Dual blades, katana... any of them really. My lowbie FM/SR scrapped with the elemental fire shield and the fire sword out running around in ninja run looks pretty sweet. Non weapon sets that aren't even vaguely ninja related in concept though... just doesn't look so nice though.

I think my Dual Guns Corruptor looks sweet with the guns at his side while he runs. As does my Dual Blades Scrapper. I actually wish there was a way for my weapon characters to keep them out so I wouldn't have to keep pressing an attack button. Not a big deal with melee characters, but my ranged characters have a way of shooting whatever gets automatically targeted sometimes.
My Fire/Dark Corrupter, a grungy pirate captain, looks like a dork. As do any of my non-weapon characters, save maybe my MA/SR Speedster Scrapper. If there was an alternative animation that was more neutral, a couple of my characters would ditch their current travel powers.

Probably easier for them to package a new sprint/jump power with another Booster Pack. After all, the whole point of Ninja Run is that it IS a specific power/effect themed for Martial Arts.

I do that all the time. That power is bound to a key near my other movement keys so turning it on and off is pretty simple. I actually built a character who has the /em at ease bound to his keys so when he stops moving he'll go into the relaxed stance. It makes him look pretty bad-A using Ninja Run to flip into the middle of some bad guys and then just go all at-ease, like he's saying "Nah, you guys aren't a threat..." (note: he's a tanker.)
Anyways, I'm not complaining about people making suggestions or anything. Frankly, you can ask for whatever you want, doesn't hurt my feelings. But just stating an opinion: I'd be pretty peeved if the devs actually made a ninja run toggle that had no animation. It's like, I can't make any new concepts with a toggle that just makes you run fast and jump a bit higher. If I wanted that, I'd just pick up super speed, slot sprint/hurdle, or use Gift of the Ancient/IO bonuses. It'd feel like such a waste of time if they did that rather than some new stances that can flesh out more concepts with.
From the gitgo I wanted to be able to have the animation separable from the power -- being able to run the animation independently from the power and the power independent of the animation.
I hope at some point it becomes enough of a priority that something similar to that is implemented.
Also I would like to see the power pool expanded. ;)

I do turn it off when just standing. I think though the 10 others standing around me at market or trainer with it active just remind me of how silly I look with it on just hanging around.

Besides, it requires zero power selections and zero power pool choices instead of two or three power selections and two power pools. i find it a useful compromise between the two. Several of my higher level characters have just Ninja Run and some movement bonuses and still move faster than a flying character.
Luckily you never have to use it unless you want to use it.
Now Shadowy Presence is just a terrible excuse for a power and also a terrible excuse for an emote or visual effect. i never put it in any of my trays.

How many of you players would want a ninja run style toggle that just gave you the animations? It would allow you to use any travel power with it(or none at all) and you would still have all the cool effects.
